About Lamb_O_Chop from Australia : She's the Qing!

Memoirs / the interview (95,329) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
I mean it is about HER life experience and things that had a lasting affect on her. I think it’s rather insensitive to tell someone to just “get over” their traumatic experiences. You are in no place to say such a thing. Period. If you’re so tired of hearing about her life then just stop reading or checking for it then. Very simple. All the contempt filled messages and trolling is so tired now. Imagine coming to this board just to be toxic everyday about a woman you can no longer stand.

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,035) (65,044) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
But she's telling the truth. Yes she was the highest paid judge and it was three years ago, but they did mislead her into thinking he'd be the only female judge, they instigated and encourage the Nicki drama, they'd always cut her off/start playing music half way through her critiques. And let's not forget the secret plot to replace her with JLo (of all people) in the middle of the season (as reported by radar.com). It's like they begged and pleaded with her to do the show all this time, just to jerk her around. You don't treat a respect legend like that period. I noticed the abuse just from watching it on tv, so I'm sure it was even worse being there. That contestant can't speak for Mariah's experience I'm sure he was in his own world trying to win the competition. Sometimes it's not about the money, it's about respecting someone's worth and not dragging into a messy situation. Even though I could use the 18 mill , I'm sure when you're Mariah Carey your brand is more important. She could always make money just from her celebrity status. Now I will say, I wish she would've never gave into doing the show or backed out when she saw that they didn't honor her wishes, because when you agree to do sometime you just have to make the best of however bad the situation is.

Re: Brenda - JLo (63,003) (63,012) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Now I don't see that as the same scenario though. one being that Mariah has always sighted Brenda throughout her entire career for helping her, payed tribute by remaking "I Still Believe", made her apart of her TV special in 1999, and basically stayed on good terms with her up until the early 2000s (not sure why things went south with them afterwards). Also I don't think it was a case of Brenda being blacklisted or sabotaged, her career was just never that huge to began with (no shade). She was dropped due to poor album sales. It's one thing for someone's God given talent to naturally overshadow you, it's another thing for someone to purposely try to destroy/derail your career. (It's deeper than the sample.) As for Jennifer we all know that Tommy was pulling the strings. She was just guilty by association in the sabotage of Mariah. My only gripe with her is she eventually found out what happened and didn't seem to really care, which (in my opinion) is just as bad in the big scheme of things and can't be glossed over. Seeing how everything played out nearly destroyed Mariah, should've spark some feeling in any true good hearted person is what I'm saying. If I was Mariah I wouldn't blame Jennifer, but I probably wouldn't be too thrilled about her either. Now am I saying it was necessary for MC to shade her in the magazine the following year? No not at all. I actually remember reading it at the time and was surprised she went there. However, her feelings about what happened to her were valid and justified. I don't blame her for not having anything to say about certain people. I damn sure wouldn't lie and say I like someone that bothers me. I challenge anyone that has a hard time grasping this concept to put themselves in MC's shoes and apply this to a parallel situation in your life.

[censored] Lopez and Shaderiah Carey (62,944) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Dear Jenny from the block. I don't care that you have the public's favor nor am I impressed with your [censored] "Hollywood", P.R., P.C. response to the alleged feud that you are responsible for reigniting. Quiet frankly, if you were really so above "something so frivolous", then you wouldn't have been throwing your little shade on the talk show circuit, at award shows, and other public events. If you truly wanted to put this debacle behind you, instead of adding fuel to the fire you would've personally reached out to Mariah for a heart to heart to cleared the air years ago. I'm sure Mariah would've actually "known" and "liked" you as a person then. Let's face it, whether you were oblivious to the fact or just didn't give a [censored] at the time, you should still feel something for being used as a pawn in someone else's downfall and profiting off of their sabotage. So I'm gonna need for you to get off your high horse and stop playing coy. You may have the general public fooled or may have even swayed a large portion of Mariah's fan base, but I see right through you.

I wasn't gonna even bother but... (61,864) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
I'm confused as to why everyone is acting so brand new on here. So let me get this straight. Mariah has a drink and sways in the club with a few backup dancers, while showing cleavage and now she the most despicable horrific none respect deserving bimbo on the planet? Oh please give me a freaking break. If anything many people can relate to "feeling hottamale" and having fun celebrating with friends. It's not like she's out every night partying in the clubs or (dare I say) always dressed like that anymore. Yes the lap dance was awkward, I mean even Mariah was like "okaaay that was a mess" but I'm sure it was done lightheartedly, impromptu and playfully. Why you mad? You all come on here and make a huge deal out of every little thing she does. If she shows cleavage she's "cheap and classless", if she wears a long modest ensemble she's "over dressed and unrelatable", if she's serious in interview she's "boring and robotic (Steve Harvey)", if she playful and fun in interviews (ET) she 's "annoying and never gives straight answers". I'm glad Mariah ignores the haters and just enjoys life because people will never be pleased and will always find something to complain about. That's what cynical pessimistic people do, sit back and always find something wrong, because they're not happy with themselves. If Beyonce can be acclaimed for singing/using vulgar lyrics and creating a creepy satanic looking video movie, if Madonna can show up at the Met Gala with duck tape on her boobs and her butt out at 50 something, if the beloved JLo can twerk half naked on people in her video named "Booty" and not have her age and the amount of kids she has thrown in her face then nobody should lift a foot to come for Mariah. Unlike their fanbases that promotes them and have their backs, Mariah's fan base drags her more than the public. And speaking of throwing things in people's face, I really wish you all would stop trying to throw the "wanting respect" thing in Mariah's face. For one: she said it like 20 years ago when she was "little Miss Perfect Mariah" that everyone yearns for today which would mean (by that logic) she had every right to want (and have) exactly that "the respect of the industry". I'm certain today's Mariah could care less if people like her or not, and I don't blame her. Haters are gonna hate, lovers are gonna love. Mariah will always be regarded as one of the best voices ever and the only thing she needs to boost her career (in my opinion) is maintain and continue to improve her voice, put out great music videos with storylines (like TEOM), airplay on the radio, and a great team behind her promoting her, and I believe she can reclaim success. She's not as bad as you all are making her out to be, knock it off. Lighten up, go get a drink and dance somewhere with your friends tonight.

Hold up, wait a minute (61,671) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Yuck at the notion that Mariah should copy anything that JLo is doing. Like how insulting. I mean that intro was cute and necessary for a JLo. However, when you have a standout voice like Mariah's (and a classic catalogue), then there's no need for a bunch of special effects, pyrotechnics, magic tricks, or a minute long booty jiggle to mask your mediocre (at best) "talent". Grant it Mariah could stand to step up the production a bit, and get more comfortable with her movements (which she has been doing in Europe), but as long as that voice is working I'm good because thats the main attraction as far as I'm concerned. As far as the GLADD awards. I say why are you all protesting so hard? Are we gonna act like she didn't have those three obviously gay backup singer when she first came on the scene that she absolutely adored, or that her music (directly or indirectly) didn't save the lives of many gay men and women across America, or that she hasn't supported charities for gay community or that "One Sweet Day" wasn't written for David Cole etc. Ask B. Scott if Mariah has been nothing but super supportive of her during the hardships of being transgender. Come on folks. Mariah is naturally supportive of the gay community and always has been. Just because she's not exactly a politician about it doesn't make her impact any less positive. And to the person that implied that her writing and singing gospel tunes (being Christian) mean she's not really down wit the gays; know that someone being pro God doesn't automatically mean that they're anti gay or take any issue with it. Now I'm gonna need all you all to act like you know better.

Sweet Sweet Fantasy (60,510) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
All in all she looked absolutely jaw dropping drop dead beautiful, I'm loving the new found confidence, stage presence and energy. I live for her billion dollar legs and the way she oh so daintily strut/work the stage. Love all the gowns absolutely stunning. Her voice is returning to rare form, sounding raw, robust, and gorgeous. Loving it and so excited for her to keep this going and keep stepping it up each time. Now I ain't going to lie that black body suit made me nervous. One side looked higher cut than the other. I'm gonna need her seamstress to do better. The nude color one is cute though, with a few minor adjustments I'd say it's a keeper. Back to the positives: I predict by the wrapping of this tour Mariah's body will be even more snatched, her voice will be in even better shape, and she'll slay us with a new smash single.

Reality show: The Miss Education Of Mimi (60,358) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
I'm gonna go on the opposing end (against most on here) and say this could actually be a great idea. I'm not mad at the name "Mariah Squad" either, I think it sounds light hearted, fun, and like "I'm not taking myself too serious with this". As all the true fans/lambs know, Mariah is greatly misunderstood by the general public, our girl always gets a bad rep whether she's wrong or right in whatever situation. I honestly think people just expect MC to be a doormat and allow herself to be walked over, slighted, and unacknowledged. Anyway my thoughts are what better way for people to get real insight to who Mariah truly is: the mother, best friend, mentor, musical genius etc, than to welcome the general public to a few days in her life. Now grant it this is considering that the angle is to show all her true dimensions as a person and capture real candid moments. It could work wonders for her career and help her connect with a younger generation, hell or just a wider audience in general. I'm not on the " at Stella" bandwagon either, well at least until I give her a fair chance to show what she can do for Mariah's career, so far she's doing a great job in my humble opinion, the women may actually be what the doctor ordered.

Can we just acknowledge (60,170) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
That Mariah has moved on years ago and is truly not harboring ill feelings towards that "sweet delightful young lady" like "certain media personal" want to believe. The proof is here starting at the .55 sec mark. And let the Lambily say amen.

Re: Sam Smith (60,131) (60,146) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Billy from Greece. I'm a huge fan of Sam Smith's voice and been so ever since I heard "Latched" (Disclosure version) at the gym (and becoming completely obsessed with it). Having said that, after watching the Oscar performance, I've also noticed that his lisp has become more apparent in his singing lately. Now you couldn't even tell he had a lisp on "Latched", "Stay With Me", "Leave Your Lover", "Together" etc., so I believe he can definitely control it. I think before he just put more effort into properly annunciating words (especially on Latched), but now he's more relaxed and self assured so he puts less effort. I actually enjoy his falsetto, but wish he would explore his (what I like to call ) "Aretha Franklin register" more; the part of his voice he used on hook and climax of "Latch". I remember initially thinking a black women sung that part. Anyway I don't see him as trying to be "the male Adele" or George Michael at all. Just I see a pure authentic talent.

Re: Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party (60,083) (60,107) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
M from Asia, honey you truly tried it with that comment. Why do you all insist on comparing Mariah to JLo in a "less than" way. She has bags under her eyes as well. She ain't as perfect as you all want her to be. Anyway, I thought Mariah actually looked the best she's looked in years last night. So the whole eye comment was a total reach. You must've been looking really hard for those bags, because they where not even noticeable.

Re: 5th Lambily (60,071) (60,081) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
May. I won't defend "Work" being a great song. I completely understand people are either loving it or hating it. I enjoy that it's very laid back, casual, and not trying too hard. For me it's just simply a catchy melody with infectious music behind it, and it doesn't help that I just so happen to have a special affinity for when Rihanna marries her island flair with a modern crisp hip hop flavored sound. I 100% agree with you on the video though, I wanted to love it, but it was just very meh to me as well not worth a second watch whatsoever. Anywho have you all seen how glorious our queen looked at Elton John's Oscar party. Dahling she's looking like a billion bucks with interest. I'm loving this new space she's in, she's definitely gotten her swag, confident, and happy glow back. Thanks James. I feel a second coming of "Mimi" headed our way.

Re: 5th Lambily (60,062) (60,065) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Work is already #1 on BB. I can't lie I do love Rihanna's new album, but ironically Kiss It Better is my least favorite song on it. I've heard many cite it as a highlight and I just don't get why. *shrugs* Consideration, Work, Desperado, Yeah I Said It, Needed Me, Love On The Brain, and Sex With Me have been in heavy rotation since the album dropped. Okay I'm sorry lambily back to the queen of music Ms Mariah Carey Mottola Cannon Packer (just for laughs don't come for me). I can't wait for her snatch wigs and reclaim her thrown with her new music. The voice is in powerful, confident, and even cocky shape, so I don't think she's coming to play, she's coming to slay.

Mariah 97 and prior: Randy (57,444) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Randy, Mariah has always been humble about her voice and respectful of her peers when collaborating even in her vocal peak. She never has tried to out sing anyone, and that's what I think people were referring to in general, that had Mariah been in best voice during divas live she still wouldn't have tried to go "toe to toe" with Aretha out of r-e-s-p-e-c-t. Pun intended. Clearly when they sung Chain A Fool, Mariah held back a little and allowed Aretha to be the star of her own song, because Mariah was in her zone on her parts. As for her voice: we are all aware that her vocal decline started in late 97, you're not the only person that's notice or spoke out about it. I just think most of us have come to terms with it by now, moved on, but continue to hope for the best. No shade to you but you come across as really depressed and pessimistic in all you post concerning Mariah. I get your disappointment because I had a lot of the same feelings (in the late 90s), but at some point I decided to let it go and embraced post 97 Mariah. I just don't see the point in harping on the past and being a miserable fan. It's not healthy.

AI feud: my take (55,079) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Was Mariah a little salty/resentful about the way AI swindled her into signing on? Yes ofcourse, who wouldn't be? It's the principal of the matter and she deserved the same curiosity (or more) that they gave J.Lo as being guaranteed as the only female judge. I don't think it's really about her not being able to deal with working with other female artists (another myth), but it's more about her always getting the short end of the stick in this industry (the Grammies snubs, not being recognized as a songwriter/musical genius, the whole mocking of the Glitter/breakdown moment etc). Why can't people ever do right by her is my question? Anywho I do think a small part of her felt that as a friend Nicki should've turned down the AI gig off the mere fact that the producers we're purposely trying it/stirring the pot, but Nicki fell into it. I believe she was a little disappointed in that and also in the fact that the producers where trying to make the show all Nicki, using her as a gimmick (as if Mariah wasn't enough to carry the season) instead of it being all about the contestants. Mariah and Nicki both cracked on each other during the beginning of the show, it was actually funny and entertaining at first. Even Nicki admitted on Jay Leno that at first they were just joking/having fun and then things took a catty turn. Also Nicki admitted on Ellen that prior to she heard the rumors that MC didn't want her there, so she went into defense mode and purposely did things to bother/annoy Mariah. So my take is it started out as them harmlessly joking with each other (possibly mocking the feud), then things took an ugly turn when Nicki starting taking things to heart. I remember the episode when they showed a montage of them not getting along after Nicki kept snapping on Mariah and Mariah said "You need to develop tougher skin, it's just jokes relax, it's not that deep" etc. Now I know we all will always have different opinions/takes on this topic, but mine is I honestly think Mimi was being playful and it went all wrong.

Mandy Monroe (55,050) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Wow you're totally judging her. We all go through ups and downs in life. It doesn't mean that we're a bad person or we were necesarily in the wrong in every bad situation in our life. I'm sure we can all make a parallel chart of deathly sins in our lives as well, so who are we to throw stones? I do agree about prayer (I actually do pray for her). She's far from perfect but she is not as horrible as people try to make her out to be. She's human and she definitely seem to be in a better place now. They're some truly wicked people in this world that are currently prospering, I won't say any names though.

Out on a limb (55,040) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Now didn't Nicholas Scott Cannon dive head first to save Mariah from a fatal fall? Hmmm I don't know about this Packer guy. Mariah jump ship now girl (exclamation point). Nah, but seriously giving him the benefit of a doubt perhaps it wasn't as long and dramatic as the pictures made it look (probably a few secs), she did have a million body guards helping her down the stairs already (so was probably like "they got her she's good"), and it looked like he was already sitting in a boat which could've resulted in a even more clumsy moment for the photags. So I'll let him make it this time, but I'm watching you Packer, no more slip ups.

Mariah: blackish the urban legend (55,011) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Mariah has never tried to deny or hide being part black. From the very beginning of her career she has always broken down what she was. Proof here. Now I do believe that the record label (ie Tommy Mottola) wanted to market her as white (or racially ambiguous) to make her more "marketable" or more of a "novelty", which is probably why he didn't allow her to do interviews at the very beginning of her career. She kind of hinted at that in Glitter when the guy said "is she white, is she black, who cares she's exotic" (I'm paraphrasing). As far as not receiving the same amount of respect from the black community (as her black peers), I believe the urban legend of her "not wanting to tell people she was black" made only a small percentage of blacks write her off. For the most part she is respected and regarded by the black community as a whole. Randy if you don't think Mariah has ever brought a black audience to their feet watch her performance of VOL at the Apollo Theater. Mariah took that audience to church with her runs, belt, and whistle note.

Mariah and Sam Smith (54,889) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
I'm so here for a collabo between them. His voice is so pure, beautiful, and organic just like Mariah's. I knew Sam had to be a lamb when he used the words "enraptured" and "enamored" in "Latched".

Then again (54,873) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
The last time Mariah "dated" it was pre Instagram and twitter days so... Just something to consider. I wouldn't be surprised if she was plunking us though, like fueling the rumour fire just to mess with the press. Like some else said, it could possibly be business related.

You all stay reading Mariah on here (54,589) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
But I do agree with her reinventing herself with the next album and getting her voice all the way back together. I know she still has it in her to go to an award show and just mop the floor with everybody.

Randy and Marcus (54,471) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
So, we're not gonna acknowledge that her voice has been improving a great deal lately? Clearly she's been taking better care of it. As much as you all say she lip syncs (all the hard notes) I'm sure her voice would be in even better condition once she reaches Aretha and Patti's age. Randy although I can totally relate to/understand most of your emotions you go through as a Mariah fan, I just don't think I could be personally be "furious" with Mariah based on career choices. Maybe bothered or hoping she proves the haters and naysayers wrong, but I just feel like she already gave so much and worked twice as hard as her peers in her prime, so my feelings are more empathy than anything regarding her vocal up and downs and state of her career. But that's just me, there's no right or wrong in how you feel.

Sony (54,394) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
It does kinda seem like Sony gave her a "low ball" record deal (it was actually rumoured), and are just trying to recapitalize off her back catalogue with all these re releases and greatest hits compilations. I wonder how many new (all caps) albums we'll get under this contract. Hopefully she gets the push she needs from them instead of being pigeonheld in the "legends that won't sell anymore" category. *coughs* LA Reid *coughs*
