Re: Getting MC back to the top of the charts (66,427) (66,441) by Daydream327 from USA
Not so much of how the music sounds today because I'm sure she does listen to a lot of the current music but just how much the music industry has changed in terms of the way music is now being released and shared. We are in the digital age, going to the store and buying a physical CD is a thing of the past. Majority of sales now come from streaming and iTunes. People rarely listen to the radio as well. I believe even YouTube streams now count towards the Hot 100. And with such easy access to music nowadays it's so easy for people to listen to one song and quickly move on to the next. It's so much harder to stay relevant and current in today's music climate, because it's just so much music. Me personally I can attest to this because I'm a fairly young lamb (24) and purchase all my music from iTunes, and I also stream a lot of music on Apple Music and Tidal. Honestly, I can't see Mariah topping the charts again if she doesn't get on board with the times. Especially being that her fanbase has greatly decreased over the years, only 56k of her fans purchased her last album, that is a problem. It's sad because being the legend that she is she should have a core fanbase that will always support her music regardless of what the current trends in music are. Mariah has to start to build her fanbase back up. She has to stop waiting years to release new music, she can no longer do that and expect to move units. It's not the 90's/early 00's anymore and she doesn't have that strong devoted fanbase anymore. I'm just being real here. I'm all for Mariah releasing a couple of free EP's on Apple Music of new music or unreleased music. Or even doing some remixes to some current songs. This is a good start to gaining some hype behind her name again. She has to release music and not just music but amazing music, music that stands out, music that is catchy. She has to let go of her ego and realize she is not where she use to be career wise. And before anything she has to revamp her image. She needs a new stylist, a new manager, pretty much a whole new team. I don't know who works with Beyonce and Rihanna but whoever they are Mariah needs them on her team. If Mariah wants to appeal to younger audience being that they purchase majority of today's music she has to change a lot if not I can't see it happening. Most of Mariah's team are also very close friends with her, that is not good and it won't help her any. She needs a team who can be completely honest with her, I feel like that is exactly what she's missing and could be crucial in getting her back at the top.

Re: Getting MC back to the top of the charts (66,422) (66,426) by Daydream327 from USA
I agree, Marissa. She has to drop Jermaine point blank period. She has to work with new writers and producers that will push her to take risks and get her out of her comfort zone. The problem is, Mariah has gotten so comfortable with Jermaine and her other long time collaborators that it's causing her to lack creativity and growth as a singer/songwriter. She is constantly trying to remake her older music and it just comes off as sounding dated and quite basic. She has to let go of her ego and get in the studio with new writers and producers, if not I can't see her new music doing well at all. It's funny because I was just listening to Breakdown and thinking just how fresh and current it sounds. It sounded so authentic and effortless as well, nothing like her recent records. She truly was at her creative peak during that time. Anywho, with that being said I really don't see any of this actually happening, especially seeing her in this current state. We can only hope she eventually realizes it's no longer the 90's/early 00's and her old formula just isn't gonna work. It's unfortunate because she honestly seems clueless of just how much the music industry has changed and it's not like she actually has a manager that has experience in the music industry.

Mariah is lost (66,126) by Daydream327 from USA
I'm honestly embarrassed for her and have been for sometime now. It's not even just that she's nude in a bathtub on social media it's the fact that she has allowed everything she has worked so hard for go down the drain. The problem is Mariah has let the gimmicks completely overshadow her talent and accomplishments. And we all wonder why she'll never get the credit she deserves, because she clearly doesn't want it. Sadly she doesn't realize the gimmicks only make her look desperate and washed. Mariah does not carry herself like a legend. I wish she had at least one person around her that could be honest with her but unfortunately she's surrounded by nothing but "yes" people who only care about being on her payroll. Lambs are delusional and blind if they think Mariah's image isn't at an all time low right now. I mean Mariah is worth millions, why won't she just hire a stylist? There are looks that can be both sexy and classy. Her American Idol ensembles are a perfect example. If she can't run her own social media accounts why not find somebody who is actually qualified to run them and not a 12 year old? Somebody needs to snap her out of the little world she lives in and give her the whole truth.

Re: Social media presence (61,839) (61,892) by Daydream327 from USA
Anthony, these have been my exact thoughts for sometime. I completely agree. It's frustrating and actually quite scary because it's as if I'm watching Mariah destroy herself and other fans are either blind to everything or just in denial. I've always loved seeing Mariah going out having a few splashes and enjoying her life. But this is something else, this is someone else. I can't quite describe it but this kind of behavior is not Mariah, idc what anyone says. I just seen a series of very odd snapchat videos where Mariah is all over Bryan (her dancer) and DJ Suss One. At one point I thought I seen her on top of Bryan. She was clearly intoxicated but she just looked so... disconnected. I can't really explain it. I want to think that all the extras and antics are just for the show, but I honestly don't know what's going on. I'm still confused as to why this show is even happening in the first place. It's all frustrating. I just miss Mariah. But I've said this before and I'm saying it again, this is all bad, really bad. And to the lambs that are calling out other lambs for being concerned for Mariah, don't say we didn't tell you so. This is all out of love. Yes, she's a grown woman and can do whatever she wants but does that mean as fans we can't care about her well-being and legacy for that matter? Obviously it seems nobody around her does. And this is not just about her image or legacy, but it's about us not losing anymore legends because they're surrounded by "yes" people and people who are just out for themselves. Yes, it's very hard to even think about, but we have to real here. And as far as Mariah's legacy and image goes well it's obvious we all view her differently than the general public. I can go on and on about the things I read in the comment sections but most of what I read is not nice so I'll just keep them to myself. And as a fan I'm finding it harder and harder to defend her antics. It's almost like she has became an parody of herself.

Stella is not good at her job at all (61,330) by Daydream327 from USA
I haven't posted on here in awhile but I feel like this needed to be said. Mariah is a grown woman and will do whatever she wants and hire whoever she wants, this is just my opinion. I see a lot of lambs giving Stella entirely too much credit. Truth be told, Stella has did absolutely nothing for Mariah's career. Lambs need to open their eyes. If anything she is only slowly steering Mariah away from the most important thing... the music and fans. Mariah is more confident now because she has lost weight, she's always seemed happier when she has gotten smaller, that goes without saying. Vegas and the tour were already lined up before Stella even entered the picture, she had nothing to with making those things happen they were gonna happen with or without her. Now one thing I've noticed that lambs can agree on is that she has helped rebuild Mariah's public image. Okay, but how is she so-called "rebuilding Mariah's image"? By leaking photos and stories to TMZ? Yes, TMZ. Mariah's career has now resorted to such gimmick antics. These are the exact things that the talentless do to gain some attention. These are the exact things that Mariah was never about in the past. To be honest the blatant leaked billionaire boyfriend headlines and candids actually made me question if the relationship was even real. Don't get me wrong if Mariah is truly happy, I'm happy. But the TMZ stories were a bit much and out of character of Mariah. It was just very odd that all of sudden there was a new headline everyday on TMZ. Not for anything music related but for the new "billionaire" boo. It was obvious these stories were leaked, a non-fan could see that and all of it was honestly cringeworthy. And that's when I realized Stella had no idea as to what she was doing. The thing is people will always have something negative to say about Mariah or any celeb for that matter, so I don't see how Stella helped "rebuild" her public image. I don't believe that it was ever ruined. If anything by leaking these stories it just made the public question her parenting. I can't count how many times I read "Ehy is Mariah letting this man she just met around her kids?" What I can say is that whenever Mariah has a great performance or releases great music people only speak great things about her. It reminds everybody why they first fell in love with her. Talent will always win regardless, that's for sure. But it all makes sense to me. Stella is a reality tv executive, she has no experience in the music industry or managing an artist of Mariah's caliber. You see where I'm going here. This woman has no idea what she's doing. Mariah is a legend not a reality tv star, she isn't a newcomer, she already has a core fanbase. She doesn't have to do these things to gain relevancy. Stella has did nothing but alienate and confuse fans. If her goal is to reach the new generation, then she needs to find someone who understands the music industry today and help Mariah to become more viral and give her direction. If not then at least try not to tarnish the legacy she has. Stella has her 12 year old daughter running Mariah's social media? Now this concerns me. Social media has always been a way for Mariah to connect with her fans directly and now that is taken away. I just don't understand nor connect with the present Mariah. I'll always love her of course. I just don't know what's going on but I feel it's all gonna lead up to a disaster. The reality show series on E. sounds cheap and unlike anything Mariah would have ever agreed to do in the past. Why not an HBO or Showtime documentary? I remember reading about an HBO doc a couple year ago, what happened? E. is not worthy of Mariah Carey to be honest. But once again Stella does reality tv, so what did we expect? BTW these are just my thoughts on the situation they are not in any way influenced by what Eddie had to say about Stella. We don't know what motives Stella has nor do we know what motives her old team had. I'm simply commenting on Stella's job as Mariah's manager. Do I think she's using Mariah for her own career gain? Yes. but do we know this for sure? No. So I'll just keep those comments to myself. Yes, we all should be worried about Mariah's well-being but once again Mariah chose these people to be in her life. All we can do is hope her vision is not clouded and she can see who's truly genuine and who's not. We can't make her see these things she has to for herself.

Where is the Mariah I used to know? (54,864) by Daydream327 from USA
I don't know what's going on with Mariah but I don't like it one bit. Word is this new Stella lady sent those "candid" photos to TMZ. Funny she is the producer of reality shows because this is very reality star-ish. This is not like Mariah. Anybody else notice Rae Rae just disappeared from the scene. I mean Rae was around Mariah dang near all the time, BFFs. Just strange to say the least. But this whole publicly holding hands with a "billionaire" and leaking stories to TMZ idk. Mariah deserves to be happy that's true but I'm just not buying it, and they allegedly are already talking marriage and then that nip slip the other day. Just a mess. I can't wait for the July shows to start back up. I want leaked never heard Mariah songs, not leaked intimate photos of Mariah and her new lover.

JD's comments (53,919) by Daydream327 from USA
I have been saying this for awhile. Mariah doesn't seem to take her career as serious as she once did. I don't know how to describe it but she just doesn't have that drive and passion anymore. She seems to do things now because she has to. She tends to put blame on everybody else when things go wrong in her career instead of being real with herself. Now before some of you start with the "she's worked hard enough already" or "now her career is not her priority but her family and kids are", Mariah is still one of the greatest singers of all time, (people do have expectations) and she still is an entertainer. She is also still putting out albums and performing. Yes, she has proved herself this is true, but she's at a point in her career where protecting that legacy is everything. I mean ask yourself how a woman who has accomplished so much in this industry rarely if ever gets the respect and recognition she deserves. Beyonce gets more praise, and she has not accomplished even half of what Mariah has. You know why? Because B has always taken her career serious. Mariah has not showed much growth musically or as an artist. And we all know she has had her ups and downs vocally. I feel if she's not gonna give it 100% and fully push herself then maybe she needs to take a break and raise her kids and come back when she's fully ready. Why continue to tarnish what you have worked so hard for? She's capable of so much more but I don't think she even cares or realizes it.

Nick is thirsty to say the least (45,628) by Daydream327 from USA

Okay, so before some try to attack me for the title, I use to love Nick and respect him greatly as Mariah's husband until just recently. I just started to realize how really immature and "thirsty" he truly is. So I was browsing on YT and came across the video above. (If it's not working type in "Nick Cannon talks Nicki Minaj's bodacious ackside" on Youtube.) And was appalled by what came out of his mouth. Now I know he's said some pretty disrespectful things recently but this one takes the cake. he was asked who had the best butt in Hollywood. Firstly, for him to even answer that question was disrespectful and to say Nicki Minaj at that, it's like a blatant diss to his wife. Smh he acts as if he's a child that can't keep his mouth shut. Entertainment or not he is a disrespectful immature little boy and is not a good look for Mariah. Believe it or not he is apart of the reason why Mariah's career has taken a huge dip. I honestly believe most of the heartbreaking songs on MIAM are indeed about him. She has said Nick does have a different side to him that the world doesn't see. Iv'e also noticed Mariah doesn't even seem interested in him anymore nor has she been wearing her ring, dembabies seem to be what makes her the happiest. This is all a shame because I use to think he was so great for Mariah, but now I see he isn't all what he puts out to be.

The delusion is out of hand (45,348) by Daydream327 from USA
Okay this is my honest opinion and some may not agree with it and find it "negative" but it has to be said. Some of you fans really need to step into reality. Let's be real, the disappointment by fans this era isn't solely about the lack of promotion, it's about wanting Mariah to take control of her legacy and not let it tarnish any further. So let's see the legendary Mariah Carey only sold 56k copies of MIAM, you know what that tells me? It tells me that even her once hardcore fans didn't buy this album. Mariah has sold over 200 million worldwide, she should be able to push at least 150k off her name alone. Look at Eminem, his last album sold 700k in it's first week (mind you it came out just last year), you know why? Because his core fanbase is still with him and supporting him. The whole "only young people buy music" is invalid if you're an established artist that has a huge following. Also JD's explaination is just a bad excuse. So why didn't the "lambs" support this album? I mean I can mention several reasons but I won't simply because I know most fans already know them. Mariah's fanbase has decreased greatly and is currently scattered, isn't that a clear sign that she has truly lost touch with her audience? Nevertheless, the album is amazing but it's time we look at the big picture. Mariah has to find a way to re-connect with her core audience again. She has to get serious about her legacy and image. People have had many misconceptions about her and unfortunately these are now becoming truth.

Promotion (45,312) by Daydream327 from USA
MIAM is truly an amazing album and I still listen to it daily but I can totally understand the lambs frustration about the lack of promotion this era. Yes, Mariah delivered some of her best material in years with this album and we all should just be happy and grateful for that, but is it wrong for fans to want a little promotion outside of social media? We want her to elaborate on the album, talk about it, just connect with us like she always has. I just think as fans we are used to the whole album promotion blitz experience with the interviews, performances, specials, videos, album signings ect. because that's what Mariah always did around album release time and honestly, I think Mariah knows this, some may think she's oblivious but believe me she sees the messages lambs send her. This is what makes me believe there is some personally or professionally issues going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of. Anybody else find it odd that MC just kinda up and disappeared after this album was released? I don't like to go digging but I've been a fan for 18 years and have studied Mariah enough to know when something is off with her. Whatever it is i'm sure she will overcome it, she's a very strong woman and I just can't see her letting an album she worked this hard on for 5 years just go like this for no apparent reason. We just have to wait and see, but I'm certain something is preventing her from giving this album the promo it deserves.

JLo / Mariah's image (44,896) by Daydream327 from USA
JLo was on the breakfast club this morning and I got a chance to catch her interview. She was asked about what challenges do artists like her and Mariah face in this current landscape and Charlemagne brought up Mariah's sales. JLo answered by saying she feels her and Mariah have nothing left to prove. JLo had nothing but great things to say about Mariah and even noted that Mariah has sold more records than her. She was very complementary. I couldn't help but notice just how naturally likable and down to earth JLo was in this interview, it actually made me want to give her album a listen. In all honesty to the public JLo just seems genuinely easier to connect to than Mariah. Which brings me to Mariah's public image. I feel Mariah's image is what is causing this album to do so poorly. The music is great, but sadly her image is what is turning people off (even fans). I think we can all agree that even us lambs are tired of Mariah's over the top persona nowadays. The thing is she's always had a fun personality but at the same time she has always speaked about things that were important that we all enjoyed hearing about but now everything is so repetative and pointless. I think a lot of this comes from her insecurities. Idk. she just isn't as comfortable and confident as she once was. Her live performances could also be contributing to low sales being that they haven't been that great and are rarely live. Like I said people love the music, she needs to improve on her image.

Mariah's recent Twitter photo (44,747) by Daydream327 from USA
I think we've all noticed that Mariah has been acting a bit "off" lately but I think her recent twitter photo has confirmed that something just isn't right. It reads: "quality time with dembabies.. so much happiness". Mind you, this is an old photo from years ago when she was on the Oprah show, I'm guessing 2008? And what's even weirder is that dembabies are not even in the photo. Now people have caught on to this old photo. I'm actually concerned lambs. I really don't know what to think at this point. Meanwhile, Nick is somewhere filming a movie. I mean is he ever home? I just don't like him, at all. I really feel for Mariah.

Really? (44,594) by Daydream327 from USA
I feel everyone on this board should be a "positive" fan right now. There is no reason to be negative about anything or criticize for that matter. Mariah gave us yet another amazing masterpiece. Shouldn't we all just be grateful and appreciative for that alone? isn't the music the reason we all fell in love with her to begin with? I understand fans want this album to be a huge success because it deserves to be but if it doesn't why does that even matter? How many times have Mariah said this album was strictly for the fans? Some of you act as if this album's success is somehow benefitting you personally. Mariah doesn't owe us anything but still she continues to share her gift with us year after year. And this is how we repay her? By bringing up her weight and saying she's lazy and you call yourself a lamb? Wow. You have no idea what Mariah may be going through behind the scenes. Some of you are so concerned with promotion/album sales rather than her well-being/emotional state. Maybe there are some underlying issues we aren't aware of that may be preventing her from promoting this album, because you know Mariah is human too, incase you forgot. Idc what anyone says Mariah has nothing left to prove. She can't be on top forever it happens to every artist at some point but 14 albums and 24 years in the game and the fact that she's still releasing great quality music is all that matters but apparently some fans are blind to that fact and think she's a striving new artist.

MIAM review / ungrateful lambs (44,588) by Daydream327 from USA
I absolutely love this album. By far Mariah's best effort since The Emancipation. It's basically everything I wanted MOAIA to be. It gives me a little bit of every Mariah era from 1990 - present. My favorites are "Cry", "Make It Look Good" and "Supernatural". I really don't skip any songs other than the singles. I'm very proud of this album. Mariah really delivered. It was a long 5 years but I'm very much satisfied with the finished product. Now as far as the sales go, I wasn't surprised at all and to be quite honest I didn't care. I was a bit disappointed in the single choices after hearing the album, but hey what's new? Lol. All I cared about was the music and Mariah came through with some of her best and most personal material. It's sad that some of you are so obsessed with "commercial" success that you don't truly appreciate the quality and the fact that Mariah put her heart and soul in this album for us. some fans are so ungrateful. You would think only the haters would be so negative about the sales/chart position of this album. Do you all even care about her well-being or is it all about sales and #1's with you? Have you actually listened closely to some of the lyrics on this album? Do you take in consideration that Mariah is human like us? Did you all not watch the NBC special with Matt? Wow. I just didn't expect this kind of talk from her own fans. The album is here, and you'll still find something to complain about.

Album pushback (42,717) by Daydream327 from USA
This is just my my opinion and observation, but I think the album may be pushed back again. I wish I'm proven wrong though. But I believe when YME was released Mariah nor the label didn't think it would tank so bad. Yeah, Mariah can say she doesn't care about commercial success anymore, but let's be real, if she didn't then the album would have been released already. I don't think Mariah's ego will allow her to release an album without a hit song. I just wish she thinks differently though and just decides to release the album. At this point I think pushing it back would hurt more than just releasing it on May 6th. I can guarantee that if this album is indeed pushed back people will no longer have much interest, if any. That's why she just needs to release it for the fans. MC needs to realize there will come a time where she's not gonna be as popular as she once was and just accept her legacy and accomplishments as is. It happens to every artist. Once she stops thinking about the charts, I believe she'll become more comfortable and grow musically as well. I wish she would just take the Prince route after this album. Anyhow, either way the album probably will not have huge 1st week sales and I think this is what Mariah/label is worried about.

Re: Nick and MC's career (42,434) by Daydream327 from USA
Although Nick has really been tripping lately in his interviews I think it's a bit absurd to blame Nick or anyone for that matter for Mariah's career decline. Mariah is the one in control of her own career, nobody else. Not Nick, not the label, not her manager. At the end of the day only Mariah can be blamed. If Mariah was married to someone on her level or at least close (ex. Jay and Bey) then I could maybe see how her husband could possibly affect her career, But let's be honest, he's Nick Cannon, he doesn't have that much of a "pull" to damage anyone's career. I'm sure Nick isn't the one telling Mariah to lip, he's not telling Mariah to be dang near naked in a music video, that's all Mariah. I wish some lambs would just stop trying to fault everybody else but Mariah. I actually feel bad for JD the way lambs are coming at him about this era, when I'm sure he is probably just as lost as we are. JD did his job, Mariah didn't do hers. JD nor the label can make a song catch on that people are just not feeling. Lambs bring up Benny, but the thing is it was the music that made that era so epic, along with the amazing performances. If Mariah doesn't start taking her craft serious again, then sadly her career will continue to decline and will be nobody's fault but hers.

Nick (42,375) by Daydream327 from USA
I never thought I'll say this but I'm really starting to question Nick's devotion to Mariah. I've noticed that Mariah has really been calling him out lately. I even remember seeing an interview during YME promo run where Mariah said something along the lines of "the world gets the best of Nick Cannon" kinda like he has another side to him not just that loving, funny guy. Idk but I just don't like it at all. Mariah has never been the one to share private details, and Nick is doing the exact opposite. It actually hurt me to see him describe Mariah as such, like she's just another "famous" women under his belt he can brag about. He could have easily avoided that question or went on to the next. And this look he has with all the gold chains and tank top. What is that about? Anyway, I'm sure Mariah doesn't like it and if he's gonna talk this way about Mariah Carey then he doesn't deserve her.

Nick is getting absolutely ridiculous (42,371) by Daydream327 from USA
Okay, not trying to stir anything but it has been a big headline today on all the blogs. I did respect Nick but now I have lost all respect for him. So I've just seen a recent interview he had with Big Boy radio and I am appalled. He went into detail about him and Mariah's sex life and even went on to talk about all the famous women he has "smashed" up to this point, and included Mariah in the list. Wow. How dare he disrespect Mariah like that? I can't even know what to say. This man is supposed to be a reflection of Mariah and is supposedly a "great" husband, but what great husband would do something so childish and disrespectful. And in the public at that? We all know MC loves very hard but I hope she can let her guard up and have a serious talk with him about it. Wasn't she just saying that he needs to shut up and not give TMI? And yet he's still doing it.

Nick (42,179) by Daydream327 from USA
I used to love Nick, but overtime I've come to dislike him. He talks way too much and gives the public way too much detail about him and Mariah's personal life. He appears to make Mariah happy and is a great father to dem babies so I can respect him for that but overall I really do not care for him. He also needs to stop making music. It's embarrassing lol, just my opinion.

Let's see what happens / Maxwell duet (42,178) by Daydream327 from USA
I think at this point all the lambs can do is hope for the best. I'll be the first to admit that I have been very disappointed with the way this era has been going. It's frustrating. But I've come to realize that complaining will do nothing. We can have opinions on the music, performances, videos, ect. all day long but does that mean Mariah will actually take what we say into consideration? No. She is a grown woman and she will do whatever she wants in the end. I mean it is her music career and ultimately, she will be the one faced with the choices she has made. All we can do now is support this album and hope it's been worth the wait. And if it's not? Mariah has still given us a flawless discography of timeless music, and I will always appreciate her for that. Also: I'm praying that Maxwell did a duet with MC for this album. It was kinda confirmed when he tweeted about it a few months back and seemed very excited about working with MC. But I've noticed MC didn't even RT/or respond to his tweet at all and also she hasn't mentioned him as one of the collaborators. Iv'e been waiting for this duet forever. If it does't happen I think I'm going to cry. I would have taken a Maxwell duet over a Miguel duet anyday. Yeah, Mariah is not trying to be "trendy" though.

Re: Carla and others (42,096) by Daydream327 from USA
You're right, we all have our opinions and maybe some of us are just venting from frustration but I have never and will never disrespect MC. It's called constructive criticism. Sorry for knowing what Mariah is capable of and knowing she's better than any of this mess she has been releasing as of late. As lambs we support Mariah and I feel we have every right to express our opinions and disappointments. So if telling the truth is being a "hater" or "fake" then so be it. Besides if the fans don't speak up, who will? It's clear Mariah's team doesn't care. All we're doing is expressing what most lambs are afraid to say because they don't want to be considered a "goat". This has nothing to do with MC following trends or topping the charts. Lambs love using the "oh if YME was topping the charts, lambs would love it". Well, not this lamb. TMB was #1, and I hated it. Least played MC song ever. Mariah is at a point in her career where she shouldn't be worrying about trends or topping the charts, she should to be worried about leaving her legacy. But sadly to do this, she'll first have to accept her age.

So Mariah's US fanbase is gone because the "lambily" doesn't stand up for her and that explains why the sales are so low? No. Mariah's fanbase is decreasing because we're trying to figure out how she can be working on an album for almost 5 years and release something as lackluster as YME as a lead single. Or maybe it could be decreasing because in every interview she rambles on and on about everything but the music. Hmm, maybe because she half asses every performance nowadays with the main focus on her boobs and how she looks. Maybe because she has become so stuck up and outrageous with the diva antics that not even her own lambs can defend her behavior. Let's face it: most of the lambily is fed up. If she's not serious about her career anymore, then why should we? Truth hurts.

Throwback moment (42,081) by Daydream327 from USA
Katy did not shade Mariah, it's the lambs who are turning her comment into shade. She simply said Mariah's older music makes for a great moment, I mean did she lie? she loves the classics. Katy has said on many occasions how much she loves MC's music and even said a song on Prism was inspired by MC, which has a throwback feel. If anything Katy's comment was a compliment.

Re: The state of R&B (41,892) by Daydream327 from USA
Yep. that's exactly what it is, they are trying to bring the 90's/early 00's sound to 2014 and it's just not gonna work. YME is just not the "sound" of today, it's too boring. This is why I suggested Mariah work with completely new producers/writers. I'm really stuck on MC working with Ryan Tedder, his work is amazing (Beyonce's XO, Adele's Turning Tables). I think they could make an outstanding ballad/midtempo. Also an powerful uplifting ballad written with Sia would be great. I just want her to work with different talented people. A lot of the new stuff is sounding very dated. I mean it's nothing we haven't heard already. That's why I'm confused as to why MC has been saying YME sounds like a classic MC record but also sounds fresh and goes with what's going on in music today. I actually believe her when she says she only listens to her own music, and maybe that's why we keep getting WBT part 2. Lol.
