I also concur that Mariah isn't racist and agree with everything you've said however the last paragraph is confusing to me. I'm at a lost if I'm being honest with what's been said, it's hard to digest.

I'm also at a loss that if Mariah is indeed racist, why do people still continue to support her, especially going to such lengths like checking a fan site. People are liking posts that refer to Mariah being racist/not liking white yet have not responded to the question. The repetitive saga continues.

Not cool at all. As I stick up for Mariah when warranted, I do so for Andy and that's not the case. Wrong to suggest such things.

Re: Defamation (97,608) (97,612) by Anonymous from
I'm still trying to understand, if Mariah is seen as racist and doesn't like white people then why would yourself and others who feel the same way still continue to support/be a Mariah fan. What am I missing here? Everyone can have differing opinions yes, but if I genuinely felt in my heart of hearts that Mariah is racist towards White, Black or any other race for that matter then I would stop supporting her in a heartbeat. This topic is sensitive and I'm not looking to argue, I'm really trying to comprehend why someone would support another that is supposedly racist.

If Mariah is racist or doesn't like white people then why are you still a fan? I genuinely don't understand it. I certainly wouldn't be checking a fan account if someone had such hideous offensive views.

I'm middle aged, think most people on here are. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, especially when it comes to Mariah. It's the divide that appears to be happening on here that concerns me the most. People who I suspect that are from different races have said things that have been uncomfortable on here. It's not just from one particular race. I will say no more on the subject.

Haha, love The Annie reference. Bill don't go anywhere, [you're] the light on this board and arguably more interesting than Mariah at times.

Hi Bill, I have to be honest, I haven't purchased or listened to the album yet. I know, shock. I've listened to Loverboy but have yet to explore other songs. I've purchased the book and halfway though it, the album is on my Christmas list. Getting ready for the arrival of my little man is taking up most of my time.

Loving your posts, it's great to see how much love you have for Mariah. Your knowledge on her catalogue still surprises me, in a good way of course. Hope all all is well with you and your collection is growing.

Deflated and angry (96,184) by Anonymous from
I'm pissed off that the divide on this board seems to be be getting bigger, especially when it comes to race. Anyone is racist, and now, so is Mariah. She speaks her truth on racism and identity, which she has touched upon for many years, but in this fragile and more sensitive climate, Mariah is now capitalising on racial tension and hardship, to be, what, current? What a joke. This book has been in the making for years.

This situation reminds me of times where I've retold racism encounters that have led people to feel uncomfortable, dismissive and defensive, that I'm in the wrong for sharing my experience.

Mutton dressed as lamb has got the right attitude, if Mariah is such racist, causing divide, then quite frankly, do one. Why would anyone waste anymore time on someone to be considered racist/thrive on divide is beyond me. I no longer listen to artists that I've later concluded to have a warped moral compass. Surely Mariah's is warped if she's racist.

Mariah clearly has identity issues, lack of acknowledgement and understanding on this topic is evident here. If you are uncomfortable with the notion that she finds more solace relating to a particular side of her heritage, more than the other, then that's your problem. Surely by now we realise Mariah isn't going to change and will never live up to the meticulously sculpted icon she was once crafted out to be. If you feel cheated for buying into her brand, the icon, then further disappointment awaits. Many artists are illusionists, who if you got to really know, would probably feel cheated by too.

In reference to Divas Live, Mariah was ill prepared and insecure, Celine was well extra and over the top. Mariah then proceeded to moan about it. For me to be critical of both artists, clearly I must be racist, but to which race, I cannot fathom?

The irony that people are more fired up about Mariah talking unfavourable about Celine then being pissed at the racism she has endured has made me feel more detached from this board then ever. Mariah isn't putting me off Mariah, some of you Lambs are. The toxicity and tic for tac is relentless. This board should be referred to as MCA - Mariah Carey Arguments.

As I've mentioned here numerous of times, Mariah isn't perfect, she can be so annoying, childish, silly, but a racist, err no.

I may follow suit with Randy and Mutton dressed as lamb and run for the hills, but my reasons are not because of Mariah it's some of the fans. What a crazy year 2020 is.

Love to the fans who are open minded, respectfully critical, genuinely happy to reminisce and continue to show support to Mariah.

Re: Trash (96,111) (96,115) by Anonymous from
I agree with majority of what you say Andy, Mariah is rubbish and annoying for taking no responsibility and playing the blame game, however, in relation to race and Mariah identifying herself as black, maybe she does but I don't think it is as straight cut that she perceives all white people to be bad/racists, in my opinion that's far fetched and absurd. Maybe she felt more accepted or more comfortable identifying with black people than white. Maybe, she has experienced more racism from her white counterparts than black? Maybe, she felt the need to hide certain aspects of her race for such a long time that when she did feel liberated, she embraced the black side more profoundly. As a mixed race person I was told numerous times I was either too black or too white. I would even get asked, what do you prefer your black side or your white side - smh. Luckily I've brought up to embrace both races and to feel proud of who and what I am, luckily my family have always made me feel valued. In America, I believe the country has adopted the one-drop rule, if you have some black blood in you then you are considered black. A lot of maybes I know but potentially Mariah is more comfortable with identifying as black, is that such a bad outcome? She has been brought up in a system that tells her that she is indeed black. If anything I feel sorry that she wasn't fortunate enough to feel embraced for who she is, rather than what she is, it must be so confusing/ heartbreaking to be torn between races or feel accepted more by another.

Over the last few years my love for Mariah has dwindled, she can annoy me so much at times, but hey, more fool me for keep coming back. Mariah is Mariah, I accept she's not the Mariah I fell hook, line and sinker for. It is what is. Mariah will always have a place in my

Re: Save the Day (95,052) (95,061) by Anonymous from
Glad you like the song Lee, I'm not really feeling it to be honest. It's not that it's not good, it's just a little too cheesy for me. Also when Mariah samples a continuous hook in the background, it's off putting. Found that to be the same with "Skydiving" as well.

The only part which I loved about "Save the day" was when Mariah and Ms Lauryn Hill harmonised together towards the end. The song seems more suited to the fans and not the mainstream audience. I also don't like the opening when Mariah sings in that particular note, it's sickly sweet. I love old skool songs and "Save the day" is reminiscent of that. But, I think the song could have been produced better and I would have changed the theme of it as well. I'm not one for preaching/lets change the world together. I never liked "Where is the love" or "Earth song". It's rare that theme is done well.

To me "Save the day" would have been more fitting released with a film like "Save the last dance" or "Step up". Doubt the song will grow on me as I won't intentionally play it again for enjoyment. I will still stream it though, low in the background to help with cause.

On a positive note I am thankful that Mariah is releasing music from her back catalogue and I will definitely purchase her new album.

Re: Allison (94,890) (94,891) by Anonymous from
Apologies there B, I interpreted your message to read as though Mariah was dedicating the anniversary period to her sister. I said I felt for Allison and explained my reasons, I don't care for her being older. With ages comes wisdom yet we still make mistakes, even big ones too. Safe to say I'm done with this topic, it's literally sucking the life out of the board. Onwards and upwards.

Re: Allison (94,886) (94,887) by Anonymous from
As I've said, I know Mariah has tried to help her. With regards to the dedication and anniversary release, I didn't know that. What's your source? I'd like to read that. I doubt anyone wants to be an addict and addicts do terrible things, the addiction is more important than anything when it gets a grip. I understand Mariah backing away from her, however it doesn't deter that I still feel for Allison. If it's all lies and self inflicting then again I feel for her. Her soul is troubled either way and she has to live with the choices she has made.

As for Patrica, I'm still unsure and whatever amazing things she has done, that's just the way I feel.

Randy, you made me laugh. I'm not a fan of Hero either but hearing Andy sing it from the depths of his soul is when I like it the most.

Ok, here are my choices, which are a mixture covers/samples.
1. Beautiful Ones
2. My All/ Stay Awhile
3. Just Be Good To Me
4. Honey - Bad Boy Remix

I think I fit the mould of a party Lamb.
