Mariah Carey's voice calls it quits
On Saturday evening, the legendary Mariah Carey kicked off her Elusive Chanteuse Show world tour in Tokyo, Japan, and things didn't quite go as expected. While performing some of her greatest hits including "Vision of Love", "Hero", and "My All", the diva's voice seemingly called it quits. Her song "We Belong Together" now takes on a new meaning as she pleads for her voice's return. Kidding.
Okay, seriously - whether Mariah's voice is as strong as it was a decade ago is debatable, but I don't think this performance is the result of a true vocal decline. Rather, I think that she is either ill or may be experiencing issues with her much-talked-about nodules (scarring on the vocal folds due to overworking the voice).
