Mariah stays at #1
Mariah makes it two weeks at #1 this week with "We Belong Together". Gwen Stefani remains bulleted at #2 right behind her while Ciara and 50 Cent have lost their bullets. And yet again Mariah earns greatest gainer/airplay honors. She is now in her third week at #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, the longest reign since 50 Cent led the list for seven weeks with "Candy Shop" featuring Olivia. On the Hot Digital Songs list Gwen refuses to let go of the #1 spot while Mariah drops one spot to #3.
On the Pop 100 Mariah is unable to unseat Gwen Stefani at #1 despite earning greatest gainer/airplay honors on this chart as well. But on the R&B charts it is a different story where Mariah mirrors her Hot 100 performance with a second week at #1. The closest challenger at the moment is the Ying Yang Twins with "Wait (The Whisper Song)" which climbs one spot to #3. And finally on Adult Contemporary Mariah climbs to #31 in her second week.
"It's Like That" is retired from the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart to the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Recurrent chart where it debuts at #21. This chart is for titles that have fallen off of the main R&B chart. Lalah Hathaway may have the #1 song on this survey with "Forever, For Always, For Love" but there's no question that Alicia Keys owns this chart. She has no less than five titles charting; "Diary" (#13), "If I Ain't Got You" (#14), "My Boo" (#22), "Karma" (#27), and "You Don't Know My Name" (#28). And on the Hot 100, "It's Like That" is on its last week before retirement. There it drops to #66 in its 20th and final week.
For the first time since her debut, Mariah regains her bullet on the Billboard 200. Still at #3, the album is now sporting a double platinum certification. This is the highest certification a Mariah album has received since 1999's Rainbow which got a triple platinum certification. (The Mariah Network)
