Mariah is scared to fall in love
Her songs express feelings about love, but in real life, Mariah Carey admits that she has never been in love. "I don't think I've ever experienced a relationship of the calibre I write about in my love songs," she says in the November issue of Glamour.
"There are songs I've written about certain people that it's obvious I felt, 'Wow, this is the real thing, this person definitely has to be for me.' And it didn't turn out that way. The Butterfly album is full of them."
And the 37-year-old reveals that she has been left jaded by her experiences. The queen of love ballads married record boss Tommy Mottola when she was 23, but separated three years later. "I don't know if it's (love) for me. I'm scared of being too vulnerable," she adds. "Someone has to understand my struggle and my journey; to know who I am in my soul, not who I am on TV and after a long day. I would get married again if I felt the other person loved the real me, or if I wanted to have children."
Mariah also admitted that she's single at the moment. "I don't go out much. I'm also not promiscuous. I wouldn't mind losing myself a little with someone, but not right now. My life is too consuming," she says. (MSN Entertainment News - Mariah Connection)
