Dressed to the nines... for a flight?

Most people wears sweatshirts and pajama bottoms while on an airplane. But not Mariah Carey. When the singer landed in Los Angeles on Friday, she was dressed to wow. The 43-year-old diva wore a shiny black alligator design coat that gleamed under the glare of the airport lights, as well as stiletto boots, black gloves and some chic shades. Big hoop earrings added even more glamor.

Husband Nick Cannon, aged 33, and their twins Moroccan and Monroe, aged two, were not with the Fantasy singer. The Butterfly singer was mobbed by fans as she tried to make her way out of the airport with her entourage (one member carried her Louis Vuitton makeup case for her).

On her way out, a TMZ reporter asked, "Mariah, will you perform for any dictators?" She replied: "Hell no. Couldn't be stupider." The One Sweet Day singer came under fire when she was paid $1m to perform for a dictator in December.

The Music Box singer gave a two-hour concert for authoritarian Angolan President Jose Eduardo Dos Santos in return for the huge amount. The move angered human rights groups who claim Dos Santos has murdered many and exploited the country's resources to his own gain.

The concert came five years after Mariah apologized for performing for notorious dictator Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi, who was toppled and killed during the Arab spring uprising in 2011. Mariah also sang for the Sultan Of Brunei on New Year's Eve.
