Mariah Carey net worth better after Nick Cannon divorce?

Now that Nick Cannon is recurring on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, his net worth will only get better. So how will this affect the division of assets during his divorce from Mariah Carey? Will she ask for more alimony after the separation?

Net worth issues supposedly played a role in Mariah Carey's split from Nick Cannon. But now that Cannon has yet another job, could Carey actually benefit from the rumored divorce? While Mariah Carey was a major pop star when she married Nick Cannon, her career has floundered in recent years. Her most recent album was a flop, and she reportedly spends much of her time spending money instead of earning it.

"He is working like 12 gigs now and is worth close to $70 million," a source said of Nick Cannon's net worth. "He's the breadwinner while Mariah has been overspending and draining her fortune."

And Nick Cannon's gigs are only increasing. Earlier this week, Fox announced that the star will recur on the current season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Cannon will play the nephew of Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) on the police comedy. So as Nick Cannon continues to increase his net worth, it's fair to wonder if Mariah Carey will ask him for alimony in the divorce. This would have been unheard of just a few years ago, but now that Cannon is the primary earner, Carey might be able to get some decent money from him.

Of course, this would require Carey to swallow her pride and admit she is no longer bringing in the net worth like she used to. But even if she is still too embarrassed to ask Nick Cannon for alimony, he certainly is making too much to ask her for financial support. So ironically, Mariah Carey's net worth stands to benefit from the separation.

Despite the divorce and net worth drama, it appears Nick Cannon is coping well with his split from Mariah Carey. His Real Husbands Of Hollywood co-star Nelly told People that Cannon is "doing great". He is even already partying and flirting with other women.

"I don't know if you've seen him, but he's cut his hair," Nelly said of Nick Cannon. "He's looking like he's been back in the gym, got new tattoos." They were not just any tattoos. Nick Cannon has apparently gotten new ink that covers up his tattoo of Mariah Carey's name. This is yet another sign that their marriage is likely over, which means a net worth battle could be brewing.
