Mariah begging Britney Spears to be personal trainer?

Did Mariah Carey really beg Britney Spears to be her personal trainer? That's the claim in one of this week's new tabloids, which says Spears turned down the fellow singer's supposed request to help her get into shape. Gossip Cop looked into this bizarre story and we've exclusively learned the truth.

An article in the latest issue of Star says Carey recently asked Spears to coach her on losing weight and getting her career back on track. A so-called "source" tells the magazine, "They met at an industry party, and Mariah basically begged her to be her trainer. She told Britney she's even willing to charter a jet to meet her wherever she's working out. She's being really pushy about it."

The outlet's questionable insider goes on to say Spears rejected the supposed request because she "doesn't want the responsibility of fixing someone else, especially someone with an ego like Mariah's". But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Carey, who laughed off the tabloid's bogus story before exclusively assuring us it's "ridiculous". A source close to Spears similarly tells us she was never approached about training the fellow singer. This magazine's account of events is simply fabricated.

Last month, Spears tweeted a photo of herself and Carey, along with the caption, "You never know who you're going to meet at dinner parties!" Star seemingly became inspired to concoct a fake story surrounding the pop stars based on their recent run-in, because there's no truth to the article. Of course, Gossip Cop has debunked the publication's many inaccurate report about both superstars, so this latest fabrication combining the two isn't surprising.

Gossip Cop recently busted the magazine for falsely claiming Spears was fighting with her father over getting his permission to have another baby. We also debunked the tabloid's made-up story about Carey forbidding boyfriend Bryan Tanaka from seeing her without clothes on. This latest article is similarly phony.
