Through The Rain number 1 selling single
Mariah's "Through The Rain" is the #1 selling single this week in the US. According to Soundscan, the single sold 12,931 copies this week (and 13,823 in total - including vinyl sales). Its position on Billboard's Hot 100 single charts will be available tomorrow. But remember: "Loverboy" was the best selling single of 2001, but never reached the number 1 position.
Mariah's "Charmbracelet" is holding steady at an average of 21,500+ each week, and currently is at 831,020 in its ninth week. On the international scale, "Charmbracelet" has sold nearly three million copies, and is currently at 2.37 million copies. According to reps at Columbia, Warner Brothers, and Def Jam, this is a healthy upturn for Mariah Carey. "Charmbracelet" is right on target according to Def Jam, so apparently they had low expectations of the album. Many thanks to Mariah Daily and Mariah Buzz.
