Mariah Carey demands mood lighting

Mariah Carey had a real light bulb moment when she bowled up to the Royal Albert Hall to perform. It appears lighting is everything these days for Mimi - who has been accused of demanding venue bosses change all the light bulbs backstage for her arrival.

Light was shed on the diva's antics when the 49-year-old swept in for her Caution world tour shows over the weekend. Famous for previously refusing to "do stairs", staff at the iconic London venue revealed the Touch My Body singer's latest complaint.

A source told Guilty Pleasures: "The venue spent hours changing light bulbs backstage and even had to put coloured filters over the fluorescent light, because the lighting wasn't to Mariah's taste."

And taking no chances on stage, the cautious singer was also snapped using an autocue to help her with the lyrics. Fan pics revealed words to some of her most famous hits were scrolled on a screen in front of her feet.

Last year, Mimi told GP rumours about her diva strops is her "shtick". She said: "The whole diva thing is something that I play up on." She played up to the rumours on stage again on Saturday - having a mock scrap with a drag queen during her set as she was cheered on by her eight-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.
