Mariah, Nick getting back together to have another baby?

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are getting back together and having another baby? That's the outrageous claim from one tabloid. Gossip Cop found it to be totally untrue.

Woman's Day published the story, which features the eye-rolling subtitle "I still Carey for you". A so-called "source close to Carey" says she "definitely has feelings for Nick". The exes got divorced in 2014 and share twin daughters, but according to the magazine, they reunited after Cannon "told Mariah he'd do whatever it took to win her trust back, and has even signed a prenup-style agreement with an $8 million cheating clause".

The supposed source then claims that Carey has "called off her relationship with dancer boyfriend Bryan Tanaka when things began getting serious again" with Cannon, despite objections from her friends. "She's hoping like crazy that she and Nick will be able to have another baby," the tipster continues, "although she's been warned by her doctors there's a very slim chance given her age."

The seemingly phony source adds, "Mariah, however, has never been good at taking no for an answer. She's convinced that with advanced fertility treatments she'll be like Brigitte Nielsen as the next celebrity to have a baby in their 50s."

It's worth noting that Carey had a difficult and painful pregnancy, suffering from pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes. In a 2013 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Carey joked that the only way she'd have more kids would be "if Nick could have the babies himself".

And in 2011, Carey told Access Hollywood that she had no plans to go through a pregnancy again. "If God chooses to do that to me, then that would happen; other than that, I don't think we would try for that ever again," the singer said. "I really don't know if I can make it through after what I went through, it was really tough." The whole pregnancy aspect of Woman's Day's article is just another tired and baseless attempt to say a female celebrity over a certain age is planning to utilize IVF for a "miracle baby".

Additionally, Carey was spotted with Tanaka last week during a promotional event in Los Angeles. The two appear to be just as together and happy as they've been the past few years. Carey even posted a selfie of her and Tanaka smiling together on Instagram at the end of August, so the tabloid's claim about her dumping him is just as unfounded as the pregnancy angle. Still, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who confirms the report is false.

Carey's legendary status in pop culture has made her a longstanding target for fake rumors. Back in 2017, Gossip Cop busted the National Enquirer for a phony story about Carey dating both Tanaka and Cannon at the same time. In 2018, we debunked an OK! article about Carey proposing to Tanaka while performing a song for him. Gossip Cop will continue to call out these fake claims about the music icon.
