Mariah Carey's legal battle with her ex-assistant is heating up with a judge sealing video of the singer's deposition. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Carey and her ex-employee have agreed to not allow the public to see the singer being grilled in the case.
Mariah sued her former personal assistant, Lianna Shakhnazaryan, accusing her of trying to blackmail her for $8 million with "intimate videos" of the singer. Mariah said the videos were filmed without her permission by Shakhnazaryan. The assistant denies all allegations and counter-sued Carey. Both cases are ongoing.
Recently, a New York judge ordered Carey could depose her ex-assistant by the end of the month. Carey will have to sit for a deposition by November 12. In the newly filed court documents, Carey and Shakhnazaryan agreed to keep all copies of the videotaped depo under seal. They are not allowed to share the tape with any third parties.
The case is ongoing.
