Mariah falls out of the top ten

This week Mariah loses momentum on several fronts as "Don't Forget About Us" falls out of the top ten of the Hot 100, "We Belong Together" completely falls off the chart, and "The Emancipation Of Mimi" falls out of the top ten of the Billboard 200. Of course this begs the question, what is IDJ planning on doing to continue momentum for this era? Well the Grammy Awards are coming up next week and Mariah should experience a sales bump for both her singles and Mimi regardless if she wins any awards (moreso if she does).

With "Don't Forget About Us" slipping 7-17 on the Hot 100 Mariah falls out of the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 since early spring when "We Belong Together" entered the top ten on its way to #1. On the R&B chart, Mariah does maintain her top ten status as "Don't Forget About Us" dips to #9. While "Shake It Off" fell off the Hot 100 two weeks ago and "We Belong Together" just now fell off, on the R&B singles chart all three songs continue to chart. "We Belong" could be in its final week as it falls down to #48 in its 46th week.

On the Billboard 200, Il Divo debuts at #1 and the soundtrack that boasts the songs that made a flurry of debuts on the Hot 100 zooms up to #10. The best selling album of 2005, Mimi dips 10-16 while the best selling album of 2004, Usher's "Confessions" actually re-enters the Billboard 200 at the very bottom of the list at #200 in its 87th week on the chart.
