About Billy from Greece: I don't know, and neither do you.

"Can't Let Go" (81,974) by Billy from Greece
This is totally off topic, but can we talk about the utter gorgeousness that this song is? My goodness, majestic, sublime. Those "you're all I know" backgrounds intertwined just reach right through me. Unspeakable sonic beauty.

Re: Mariah Carey once hospitalized (81,947) by Billy from Greece
This actually had me laughing out loud. Mariah, in case you're reading this, make sure to invite me to the dinner next time, ok? Sounds like a super fun party, right? Great company. Apart from all that, I'll try to be succinct about the latest news regarding the Russian lowlife: vomiting, abhorrent, opportunistic criminal. The only good thing is that this lowlife has totally wrecked her own reputation in the process. F*cking noone in the business liked her even before all this mess (even Wendy Williams saw that she is "no bueno") and I doubt anyone will trust her ever again. Most importantly, though, Mariah has escaped this whole mess alive. That's right, alive. No kidding here. It's almost crystal clear that this lowlife was not only plotting Mariah's demise. Her plan was first to attach her name to Mariah and various projects, bring her down, kill her (or make her kill herself) and live off of the royalties. Get lost once and for all you disgusting scum, you and your equally disgusting daughters. Sorry for all the cursing, but I needed to vent.

Re: New memoirs? (81,814) (81,817) by Billy from Greece
Most divas, including Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Donna Summer and others published a memoirs around their thirtieth anniversary in the business. Toni Braxton has already released one a couple of years ago. This is something that back in the Charmbracelet era Mariah mentioned as well when she was responding to fan questions, but said it was not time yet. This is a fine moment for a memoirs and carving a new phase in her career.

Re: Lisa Stansfield - Deeper (81,726) (81,730) by Billy from Greece
Lisa is indeed a great talent. I love and have most of her albums. Her first three (or four) in particular are classics. "So Natural" (the one not released in the US) may be my favorite one.

Interview - question (81,724) by Billy from Greece
I know Mariah has talked many times about staying up late night when she was little, and singing with her mom's musician friends songs like "I can't give you anything but love", but can anyone recall any specific interviews where she mentions that? I remember watching many interviews where she's said that, but I can't find the right one now. Thanks.

"E=MC2" - ten years (81,694) by Billy from Greece
First of all, I'm beyond skook by the video of "We're not Making Love." Floored. Second of all, it's been almost ten years since the release of "E=MC2". It was released April 15, 2008. I was just looking at videos of Mariah on Friday Night Project. Wow, just wow. It is not just the gorgeousness, it's the fun that she exuded back then and the true happiness that she embodied. Compare that to the interview she gave in November the same in another UK show and you'll see a whole other Mariah. We all know the reasons. But this is how the "E=MC2" era was characterized, starting with an energy and festivity unlike even "Emancipation's" hoopla and unfortunately interrupted by the thing called "life". As I've said before, back then, it felt as if "Glitter" was past her, past us, past the public, finally. That was such a liberating moment for a lot of fans. Just a carefree springtime, seeing Mariah happy, on top of the world, rejuvenated, with such a fun album, such strong hooks and melodies that screamed hit potential song after song. I remember vividly the stages leading up to the release of the album, the momentum, the great and revealing radio interviews she gave that era (quite a few in fact), listening to snippets of the songs on amazon a week before the physical release and feeling ecstatic (I remember "Side Effects" really standing out), just a moment in time I cherish personally and as a fan of Ms Carey, Mariah. "I Wish You Well" still brings a lump in my throat, while "For the Record" is always on heavy rotation. Also hooked on "I'm That Chick" in particular, while still enjoying the album as a whole. And yes, "Migrate" should have been a single.

Re: Underneath The Stars performance (81,680) (81,684) by Billy from Greece
This is from the Daydream Tour, at Tokyo Dome, Japan. You can find it on YouTube. There is also an unofficial DVD of the entire concert (and most if not all is also available online). Here's the full performance.

Aeon commercial - 1998 (81,649) by Billy from Greece
Some more help, if you might. Do you remember Mariah's 1998 Japanese commercial for Aeon back in 1998? She is so gorgeous and ethereal here. My question is about Aeon: in the video description, it is described as a "Japanese language school". Does anyone have any more info on that? I did google it and found some information but I was wondering whether anyone has had a more direct experience with that. Given the content of the ad, and what Mariah is saying here, it does verify that description.

Videos - product placements (81,648) by Billy from Greece
Can someone please point out the videos where Mariah has had product placement? I remember "Angels Cry" featured her perfumes, I think. I also can't remember which is the one that had her champagne. Was it the remix of "Obsessed"?

Mariah on Jimmy Fallon 2013 (81,640) by Billy from Greece
This has not been available online for a while, so in case anyone wants to see it, here it is. Though I was generally positive towards Jimmy Fallon, I certainly didn't appreciate the comment he made about Mariah last year at the Golden Globes. Final comment: Mariah looks totally gorgeous here. This is before #Beautiful, before the shoulder dislocation, before the divorce, before the nightmare era. I can't believe it's been five full years ago.

Re: Whitney talks Mariah comparison on Arsenio (81,623) (81,631) by Billy from Greece
Hi there. It was not the Arsenio Hall show that you're referring to. Whitney was on the Byron Allen show when she made that comment. You can find it after the ninth minute. Hope this helps.

"Rainbow" era (81,521) by Billy from Greece
Just a reminder that the "Rainbow" era boasts some of Mariah's hottest remixes. While many feel that "Rainbow" is not her strongest work, she was really creative with the songs and samples she used, ultimately creating a fully enjoyable body of work. I'm living for a deluxe anniversary edition of "Rainbow" that will have the "Love Hangover" and "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" versions of "Heartbreaker", the "Make It Last Remix" of "TGIFY" and the "Triumphant Revival Mix" of "CTTA" all in one place. Mind you that all of these remixes have new vocals, so if you take them as a whole, the studio album plus these remixes, you have a truly satisfying album to cherish for days.

Re: Upcoming album (81,492) (81,493) by Billy from Greece
I absolutely love Teena Marie. Such a genius. I would love to hear MC take on one of her tracks, especially considering how loved Teena was by R&B enthusiasts. Right on the top of my head, I can more easily hear MC sing "Now That I Have You", which was co-produced by Richard Rudolph, Minnie Riperton's husband. "Yes, Indeed" would also be a great choice, or even "If I Were Bell". Teena Marie really has a flawless discography.

Re: Clusters (81,424) (81,427) by Billy from Greece
Interesting concept. One of my "clusters" (I guess the moodier one) is comprised of the following: "Alone In Love", "Sent From Up Above", "Do You Think of Me", "Long Ago", "The Roof", "I Still Believe (Stevie J. Remix)", "All My Life", "Lullaby", "For the Record", "HATEU", "Faded".

"My All" (Divas Live) (81,383) by Billy from Greece
Lately, I've been obsessed with Mariah on the first VH1 Divas live concert. The way she owns the stage with "My All" from the very first step she takes is monumental. Every breath she takes, every muscle she moves, every look she gives, everything is flawless here. Not to mention the resonance in the first chorus in the "cause I can't go on" part. Just shattering. Next month it will be twenty years since the show took place.

Re: Outtake vocals (81,307) (81,308) by Billy from Greece
Dennis, most artists record multiple takes of a songs and then combine the best parts to create the best outcome, at least when they record their vocals separately from an orchestra or instrumental part. It is a process called "comping". Barbra Streisand also does it. Here's a description: "Comping is when several vocal takes of a song are done. Afterward, the artist or producer listens to the takes and chooses the best words, phrases or lines from each take and puts them together as a whole, composite track that sounds seamless."

Re: Golden Cannon and Roc & Roe (81,179) (81,184) by Billy from Greece
This is super cute. The twins have grown so much, and Rock looks more and more like Mariah, especially with those curls. But what in the ham sandwich is Nick wearing? He also has to lose the turban pronto.
