About T from USA :

Re: Label vs. managment (97,906) (97,907) by T from USA
Are you sure she's still with [Roc Nation]? They removed her from their website.

WIB played on mainstream radio, success (97,894) by T from USA
The fact that a new Mariah song in her current voice and age has been played on mainstream top 40 radio (albeit only 2 spins) is huge in my opinion. That is the biggest thing for the WIB era I will take away. As long as the door is opened a crack can always get wider with the right material. Urban spins are picking up fast, and Rhythmic radio is almost in the top 40 for spins.

Re: Def Jam (97,884) (97,888) by T from USA
I wish she took the momentum after TEOM and went back to Columbia in 2007. I think they would have invested huge in her next release. I understand why she stayed on Island/DJ as LA Reid was still head but with each release the promo dwindled. Honourable mentions to TMB, and #Beautiful which did get a very decent label push.

Re: Epic (97,883) (97,887) by T from USA
Roc Nation removed her from their website artist roster. I don't think Mariah has a company behind her.

Re: Go independent (97,875) (97,878) by T from USA
Janet's career is the last blueprint I would be following if I was Mariah. One album in the last twelve years or so. Came and went without even being noticed. Mariah belongs on a major because she's major.

Re: MC30 (97,868) (97,869) by T from USA
She should've done it all in 2020 before Christmas. There were plenty of missed weeks in October that could've fit in Charmbracelet and [EMC2]. Oh well. It was good while it lasted. Maybe we don't know [Memoirs] and [Caution] haha.

Re: Voice therapists (97,863) (97,865) by T from USA
All true. Dev Hayes of Blood Orange mage her instrument sound the best it has in a long while. And a standout on Caution. I would also like to hear how Dallas Austin would sound as she has never worked with him but he knew how to even make TLC's limited vocal range work in the context of the song. You Mariah to sound good on a track? Tweet and Instagram him and MC and encourage a collaboration. In terms of The Rarities, maybe 30k lambs is all she has left. Those are the ones that will never waver. But it also wasn't very promoted or seen. If she wants to make a hit record again she needs a new sound and a rested voice.

Today is WIB download day (97,862) by T from USA
I read on Twitter that today the lambs are all downloading and purchasing WIB. Tomorrow there is a streaming party for the song. It is our one big push.

Re: Voice therapists (97,860) (97,861) by T from USA
Probably if Mariah really wanted it she could get back to Charmbracelet tour vocals but it would take a complete overhaul. Diet, drinking, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, vocal therapy, etc. But is it worth it? Especially since the lambs are still with her no matter what her voice sounds like. The question is would the mass public come back if the return of the voice did?

Re: I just want (97,858) (97,859) by T from USA
The right producer could change everything for Mariah. There are many things they could do to utilize her voice as the instrument that it is.

Re: I just want (97,850) (97,852) by T from USA
I'm the opposite. I love Mariah's powerful soulful voice but if it's not there anymore I don't want to hear a Frankenstein album. MIAMTEC came close to that being recorded over four long years. Caution was refreshing because I could get into the song without judging the voice. Unless all this rest has helped, or she went through the throat surgery I don't think she should patch together songs. Or else a new album might be ten years away.

Where I Belong 3rd most added song on Rhythmic (97,816) by T from USA
WIB was the third most added song on rhythmic radio. And the video is nearing 10 million views. Lets go.

Today Where I Belong goes for radio adds (97,804) by T from USA
Today we should all call one station in our area to request. One of two things will happen with this song. Either it will start to get rhythmic play and Mariah will be back on a radio format not seen since 2015s #Beautiful. Six years ago. Or the song will come and go without as much as a whimper. There are a lot of factors at play of course. But if we don't all do our part this week then we shouldn't complain if Mariah is yet again shut out of radio. Building a relationship with a format is important for her next release. Unless she is planning to work with Walter, she will need rhythmic to have any kind of success. In all actuality many casual listeners believe Mariah's last current song was Obsessed in 2009. We can also do our part by sharing the video everywhere. And pressing like on other shared posts of it. But specifically radio will help the video get more views. Lets do this, we have the casual hip hop fans on our side.

Where I Belong video (97,796) by T from USA
WIB video is already at 5 million on YouTube and over 2 million on Facebook. Mariah looks great in it and their chemistry is still top notch. But we got to do something for radio support. Be it twitter or good old fashion call and request, but the video can't do it alone. If it gets a few initial radio spins it may just start taking off on its own. Do you know what a minor rhythmic hit could do for Mariahs next project?

WIB radio request day April 13 (97,763) by T from USA
I know it's a long shot because of ageism, a dwindling fan base, etc but maybe all the lambs should banned together and request WIB at rhythmic radio the day it goes for adds April 13th. A hip hop collab might actually get some traction. With a mild radio hit Mariah could actually leverage for better bargaining on her next project. WIB might actually open a little crack in the door if it slowly takes off a bit at radio. It will be a lot easier to call urban and rhythmic and request the new Busta joint then it will be requesting the next Mariah single (especially if it sounds anything like With You). I don't want Mariah to end up like some of her peers regarding radio. What do you say? One last old fashioned radio request day April 13 to give Where I Belong the best chance at a good start.

Epic vs Def Jam for Mariah? (97,751) by T from USA
Label question, currently which is the better label Epic or Island/Def Jam? Should have Mariah stayed with Universal or was the move back to Sony the smart one? (Probably for building her legacy artist status the Sony More was the right one?)

Re: Mariah's "real birthdate" (97,721) (97,725) by T from USA
It seems like your obsession with Mariah is a little scary. Why do you feel the need to expose her or out her as much as you do? What do you get out of it? And how does it change Mariah's life in any way even if you somehow unearth the truth? I'm asking for a friend.

Get Your Number "behind the scenes" (97,705) by T from USA
JD talks a little behind the scenes about Get Your Number. I did not realize it is Mariah's idea to have him talk over the tracks at the beginning.

Re: Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (97,686) (97,689) by T from USA
I agree with JD. I think that ship has sailed, unless it's one track that is undeniably good, the rest should be left off the album. Does anyone know why Mariah has never been in the studio with Dallas Austin? He seems like the cooler producer version of JD. His ties with LA Reid and the fact that he's done incredible work with TCL, Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Janet make me think he would be right up her alley. He's also from her 90's generation. The only thing I can think of is that maybe when he was at the height of producing Mariah's husband didn't want her in the studio with him (although she did have JD in 1995). On a side note, Mariah's second husband starred in a movie based on Dallas Austin's life, Drumline.

Re: Someone make a list (97,645) (97,649) by T from USA
She's back in the studio with JD and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. I would love her to work with Dallas Austin. He is "new" to her sound (so it checks off that list) but he's also from the JD generation so it fits her style as well and isn't too out there.

Re: Tommy Mottola, a monster? (97,554) (97,557) by T from USA
The real question is if Tommy [was] black would she have felt the need to break away so badly? Would she still be giving him his props the way she does to the predatory LA Reid?

Re: Languishing (97,519) (97,521) by T from USA
I would think Languishing was about Pat if she did not have her on the Christmas album and performed with her many times after singing Languishing. She was even with her on Idol in 2013, and Beacon 2014. However maybe Mariah was trying her best even though all those feelings were present and true. For me it seems like Mariah always needs a story. The enemy was Tommy for almost two decades and now that it's not as interesting the story seems to be that her family is the enemy. Could very well be true, if it is then it's really sad. The two common themes in all the stories are race and control. I do believe Mariah felt less than, and then under a incredible amount of control, but now she can't possibly still feel less than or controlled can she? Time to make peace with it all.
