About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: Never mentioned before (93,270) (93,295) by RibbonB from USA
Too funny. I wish Mimi would just finally do an album of American standards. We all have lots of time on our hands during this time of social distsancing.

Oh never mind, most of these salacious stories shouldn't even be brought up in this messageboard. What good does it do?

I think Bill was being sarcastic, but then perhaps you're being sarcastic and using this as a reason to mention Bruno Mars for the umpteenth time.

Lol Supernatural is kinda cute. I get it. "You make beat go. "

Re: AYNAF original video (93,214) (93,217) by RibbonB from USA
Maybe they were supposed to represent little cherubs or cupids. But yeah, they are creepy looking kids and don't fit the tone of the song.

Re: AYNAF unreleased video (93,207) (93,212) by RibbonB from USA
I bet she has a lot of shelved videos. We almost didn't see the IWKWLI video and shouldn't have. Let's hope she releases the "Shelved, but Shoulda Been a Single" project. Might be a beautiful mess.

Re: AYNAF unreleased video (93,190) (93,205) by RibbonB from USA
Mimi was ahead of her time and didn't know it. She looked like Daenaerys from Game of Thrones, on a budget. All she needed was a fire breathing dragon above that fake castle. Gosh who the neck even thought if that concept. Anytime is definitely one [of] her best songs though.

Not bad, thanks for the link.

Listen, I'm still mad that Gladys Knight didn't win in the first season. Her performance [was] iconic. I still wish she would release Chandelier right now.

I've never heard of her. Lol. Did she do Anita justice? Have you been watching the Masked Singer? They've been doing the legendary divas bad on that show, first dropping Chaka and then Dionne within the first couple weeks on the show. I think they intentionally don't hide their voices, first because they are so distinctive and they may on want to appear briefly. I think it's great to see them on tv anyway since there are so few vehicles for them to be seen on tv and to those numbers of people. Anita's voice is ultra distinctive too, she'd be so easy to identify.

Re: A joke (92,979) (93,001) by RibbonB from USA
I agree with you on this Myles. People are being more morose and what not about this picture now, than they were when she was spiraling and in the midst of the nightmare. Hopefully she has come through a bit to the other side of this drama. I have mentioned this outstanding drama many times on this board, but I do believe it will be settled. Hopefully she has gotten the help she has needed for whatever her issues are. Only she knows and I wouldn't take the word of her pathetic brother or a disgruntled clown.

Never be happy, that should say. Lol.

Stellar and the assistant were around more than a decade after dumb boy hung around. They wouldn't have video associated with that time. This with her assistant will also be settled, just like she settled with Stella.

Re: The Blast (92,952) (92,958) by RibbonB from USA
Or you can never unhappy until she does? Of the many times I have seen this picture posted on this site, this is the first time I have looked at the people in the background. I can see Sasha with headphones on but I can't figure out the person on the far left. I wonder if that's Stellar looking like death without makeup or BScott looking the same. Mimi during those weirdest of times.

WBT had that JD and Manuel Seal magic, the same magic team of Always Be My Baby. But magic doesn't always happen. With You is absolutely boring IMO though and not even close.

Mariah's memoir co writer (92,906) by RibbonB from USA
So I've heard she as a talented trustworthy co writer for her memoir. I wonder if it might be Karen Hunter. She's a New York Times bestselling author of several hip hop related biographies for LL, Latifah, Superhead and Wendy Williams. I mean if she's going to put a book out, I hope it's a good one.

Don't Forget About Us (92,890) by RibbonB from USA
Squeeeee, so I was just leaving Wal-Mart after a simple Sunday shopping spree, when I heard DFAU on the radio. It's been so long since I've heard that song or any Mimi song on the radio, so I was so excited. The radio popped on soon as I started my car and the song was midstream, so I screamed. Mimi singing one of my faves. The staccato that that is, the superb self-harmonizing that that is, the sentiment that that is. Saaaang Mimi. I just had to sing some Mariah praises this Sunday.

Re: ASCAP (92,827) (92,828) by RibbonB from USA
Tehehehe, I learned what they were when I was a kid and used to study cassette or album sleeves cover to cover. I used to think ASCAP was the best because so many faves used them. If you read the fine print of songwriters and publishing names you'll see which association they are with at the time. Multiple songwriters may have the same or different ones on the same song. It's just their personal choice.

Re: ASCAP (92,824) (92,825) by RibbonB from USA
You should Google to understand what ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC does. They really don't affect careers, but they do collect and distribute money associated with the use of Mariah's music and any other songwriters who I signed to them's music. The best analogy I can think of is like a music library, responsible for various songwriters/artists music catalogs. An artist has to contract with one of these "libraries" to track the use of their music in order to collect and distribute royalties. Mimi received a BMI icon award from that organization in 2012 when she was with them. ASAP has its own awards as well. Here is an article that describes what these groups like ASCAP does.

Re: Move to ASCAP (92,820) (92,821) by RibbonB from USA
That has nothing to do with her being around or not. She needs one of those types of companies to monitor/collect money for the playing, streaming etc. of her written songs. She's just moving from BMI to ASCAP. Those are the two major entities for that purpose.

She was with BMI, but sounds like she tried SESAC, the other major company.

She's been dealing with her little court case. She also has Vegas shows coming up doesn't she?

Re: Jessica Simpson (92,750) (92,751) by RibbonB from USA
Yes she said she was up against all the Mousketeers types like Aguilera and Spears when her career began. She tried out around the same time, but didn't make it. The LA Times review gave a good snapshot of the book, which I won't be buying.
