About RibbonB from USA: I love Mariah's Music.

Re: Standards/classics (65,363) (65,374) by RibbonB from USA
All of that sounds good to me.

Re: Standards/classics (65,345) (65,348) by RibbonB from USA
Mariah is finally getting to that age where she might consider doing a jazz/pop/R&B standards album, but I doubt she ever will. The only covers she has done have been former pop hits like I Can't Live [sic] and IWKWLI, One More Try. I wish she would dare to do "Don't Explain" on record. She might want to just stay away from the Blues though. Even though she gives us those sentiments at times, I'm gonna say she won't ever dare go there. Lol. Maybe if she dared to do that gospel cd first, and I don't mean Christmas songs. But since she is a Scientologist now, I don't think she would even do that. JK about Scientology, maybe.

Lol. Their haircut video is adorable. Story of my childhood except they are boys. Very cute.

Roc and Roe dancing to Money video (65,334) by RibbonB from USA
Here is the video Mimi L. They have nice rhythm. Both had big hair then, can hardly tell who is who. Mariah is so cute non dancing on the floor saying Money. Lol.

I have not had a chance to search for the link, but I think they showed it during Mariah's NBC special with Matt Lauer, before MIAM was released. If I find I will give the link.

Re: Faded (65,312) (65,319) by RibbonB from USA
The great thing about "How do you mend" and "If I were your woman" are that you know them immediately, so distinctive. M. and big Jim needed to put some distinctive qualities on Cry and Camouflage. But it's all good, her catalog is so nice that there is something for everyone, but everything is not for everyone. Lol.

Re: Faded (65,315) (65,317) by RibbonB from USA
Whoa sorry typos, I was on my tablet for that last response. I meant not watered down sap fests. And it's rough as in rough draft, not rough for its own sake. Too many typos. I love many Gladys Knight and Al Green classics and Cry doesn't compare. The song is just boring, but that's my take. Some classic painful goodbye songs that are timeless classics have beautiful memorable melodies and poignant sparse lyrics. My favorite examples are Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me and Brenda Russell's Piano In The Dark. These are beautiful timeless haunting songs with great music, melodies and vocals. I can hardly remember Cry until I listen to it each time, that is not the marker of a good song, but the words are nice and sad.

Re: Faded (65,312) (65,315) by RibbonB from USA
Oh I understand blues and soul very well but she is giving me none of this vibes. She is giving me rough as in rough draft, not Roth and raw for theiutheiur own sake. Her best songs IMO have distinct melodies watered down sap tests. But we won't agree on this one, so. Cry is good poetry, but the music does not help it be a great song IMO.

Re: Faded (65,289) (65,308) by RibbonB from USA
I like Cry but it's hard to listen to it more than once, especially with its meandering melody. M. sometimes needs someone who can accompany her and help her put out a polished song, Big Jim was lacking on some of their efforts, but that's just how I hear it.

Re: Texting before "Faded" (65,297) (65,306) by RibbonB from USA
I love how she said that after Camouflage, because the song is so bleak, she couldn't leave it like that, she still infused some last bit of positivity with Money. Did you see the video of Roc and Roe dancing to Money? So cute.

Lol, wow Licia, you missed that one. Mimi was a mess for that one.

Re: Faded (65,286) (65,291) by RibbonB from USA
Yasssss to all the Faded love. Lol. The song is operatic. Wish the instruments were the real thing. I imagine the Tympani drums pounding at the outro with the strings and wind instruments while Mariah is singing her heart out in this aria of frustration and fading hope. *sigh* Why did she have to be texting in the beginning though? Lol.

Awww, well G. You're always loving some song, but you're not there for mine. Ha ha. Until Hozier then.

Re: Moving on to a lighter subject (65,278) (65,279) by RibbonB from USA
She does. They are both so adorable. Absolutely precious babies. I do want to see some of their moments from MW. It's all about them for me and that show, although I hope their time is kept to a minimum.

Faded (65,277) by RibbonB from USA
I absolutely love this song from MIAM. This should have been the lead in instead of You're Mine Eternal. This song has so many layers and the vocals are killer, especially the last 30 seconds. Mariah outdid herself on this one. It rivals Ribbon from Memoirs, in intensity and emotion, but they are two extremes from the same coin IMO. Where Ribbon is ecstatic, Faded is exhausted, Like a Faded Ribbon, awwwww. To these type of writing and vocals I say, yasss queen all day. Now Giovanni I hope you love Faded too so we can reaffirm our friendship. Lol.

Re: Moving on to a lighter subject (65,266) (65,274) by RibbonB from USA
Yeah I saw that last week and they are so adorable. They might want to break them of the boobie chatter. It was cute, but inappropriate. Roc is adorable though.

Re: Me I Am Mariah (65,267) (65,272) by RibbonB from USA
Lol welp, we will never agree on AOLG but I accept and appreciate your opinions. AOLG and Angel's Cry are on the same level of shouting out emotions vs. a more nuanced telling of pain and hurt. But I guess she feels that way sometimes. I be like, skip, zip to the next song. I guess it is that way for all of us, but the songs vary person to person. Mine Again is my jam though, doesn't even compare to AOLG and Joy Ride is sublime. I could go on and on dragging your song just for fun but I will stop. Just having fun with you, but I mean it though. Lol.

Money (65,260) by RibbonB from USA
I actually love this song Giovanni, It has a "cantankerous" beat and I love the way Mariah says "this that the other". The song bears no relation to the image she is showing now days, but it's a cute sentiment. Lol. I can definitely imagine a college band playing this one. Mariah has a few songs that lend themselves well to band arrangements. I can't wait until your Hozier music arrives, so you can give me your critique.

Re: Me I Am Mariah (65,252) (65,258) by RibbonB from USA
AOLG is definitely too wordy and ill constructed. It sounds like a light weight blues song with fake strings. Now if she had covered BB King's The Thrill Is Gone, she would really have been saying something. Lol. I love these lyrics and it combines a little of Betha Gon Know and I wish You Well. Lol.
The thrill is gone
The thrill is gone away
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away
You know you done me wrong baby
And you'll be sorry someday
The thrill is gone
It's gone away from me
The thrill is gone baby
The thrill is gone away from me
Although, I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be
The thrill is gone
It's gone away for good
The thrill is gone baby
It's gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be open armed baby
Just like I know a good man should
You know I'm free, free now baby
I'm free from your spell
Oh I'm free, free, free now
I'm free from your spell
And now that it's all over
All I can do is wish you well

Re: Brat Ratner (65,240) (65,248) by RibbonB from USA
Well she is already in bed with them so to speak, almost, but allegedly not until she marries, if that ever happens, but it seems like a stunt. Lol. Brett just seems like an entitled fat boy, frat boy, rat boy, pick one. He stumbled on a benefactor/business partner and they are working it, or working each other. Best case scenario, they are all friends and business partners, worst case scenario, they are both using the Bra until she drops.

Re: Me I Am Mariah (65,236) (65,238) by RibbonB from USA
Yes I did, but I will leave your jam alone. Wait, one more thing, does Art Of Letting Go even have a melody? Lol. But whoa, whoa beat go. Roe's ad libs are on par with her mama's already. Hahaha. And Rocky's two octave vocals are already stellar. The real stellar this time. Lol.

Re: Don't know if you all noticed (65,227) (65,235) by RibbonB from USA
I have had it figured that the RatPac is using Mariah for over a year now. Who knows, maybe longer. But she is all onboard, so that is all that matters, right?

Stellar is a mess and Mariah is a hot mess lately. Oh well, I am at a loss for words. Lol.

Re: The emancipation of boobies (65,220) (65,231) by RibbonB from USA
Don't give her any ideas about dangling Roc and Roe. Lol. For that matter, her doing anything with dangle in it can't be good.

Re: Article: All 64 Mariah music videos, ranked from worst to best (65,228) (65,230) by RibbonB from USA
I enjoyed her look during that era too. She had a lot of good moments. I am not sure why Mariah's video game is so weak though. Lol. I could speculate, but it's Saturday. *shrug* Her worst look ever is this present day, "Pamela Anderson hoochie leather mama" look. She needs to run immediately to Andre Leon Talley or somebody for some proper guidance. Lol.
