About Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada: Proud lamb since "Vision Of Love" 1990

Anyone else listen to E=MC2 more than TEOM? (93,081) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
It isn't that I don't like TEOM maybe more that the album became so huge? E=MC2 is such a fun vibe I tend to play it more. Lol.

Re: Non-single favourites (93,030) (93,037) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Whenever You Call The Brian McKnight version. It is gorgeous. Vocal and lyrical perfection.

Re: New album (92,106) (92,116) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
In addition to Barbra's credentials that Eric listed, Mariah herself pays homage to her song "Evergreen" in "Giving Me Life". I love Mariah, but there is absolutely no need to put down the work of other artists - even if said artist is not your cup of tea. I would not be sad if Mariah fans could completely stop doing that. It is not cool.

Re: Merry Christmas projected to be #1 on BB200 (92,026) (92,031) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I'm still happy AIWFCIY is her 19th #1. Fourth is amazing considering the album is 25 years old and the album is facing new music on the charts too.

Re: Please (91,868) (91,870) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I didn't mean you specifically Adam. But, I've been on this board for years. Mariah is raked over the coals for many things big and small. Sometimes it gets a bit tiresome. She's called selfish, ungrateful, lazy entitled the list goes on. 2014 on has been messy but I see her making effort. I see her giving the fans several things they've been asking for. I myself have witnessed her credit Walter many times and I stated as much in my post. I'm not an idiot. I know she doesn't mention Walter all the time. I know she doesn't always articulate herself clearly in every interview. Nor is it a requirement for me. She's mentioned it enough times and I guess I don't hold it against her if she doesn't. I am well aware there has also been some discord between them in the past. I stand corrected on your post about Walter A. You are entitled to your opinion. I respectfully disagree.

Re: Please (91,854) (91,857) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Me too Special K. She's credited both of them many times in interviews over the years even after ties were severed and you are right, royalties have been paid. I agree Mariah isn't perfect, she makes mistakes and sometimes questionable choices (Who doesn't in life? We are all capable of it), but she's not the total witch some people tend to make her out to be either.

Amen Stacey. He made some good choices for Mariah's career from a business standpoint. The personal issues not at all.

Re: Oh Santa late late (91,782) (91,784) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I know Oh Santa is not the universal appeal of AIWFCIY but I have to say the fun of the song, the clapping, the cute Santa "Ho Ho Ho" and the placement of those whistles. It always puts a smile on my face. so I can never call it a lesser version of anything. It isn't about that for me. The song is adorable. Yes the performance on Late Lare with James was playful a joy to watch.

Happy 19th #1 AIWFCIY (91,714) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Well deserved for a legendary song and artist. Merry Christmas everyone. As far as I am concerned the song has been #1 for years. Lovely that it is officially recognized 25 years later. Only Mariah.

Re: Taylor Swift (91,551) (91,556) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Really agree with you here Edward. I like some of Taylor's music. I also enjoy some of Ed Sheehan's cataloge. I will never be the kind of fan to put other artists down in Mariah's name. Nor do I feel that is an accurate requirement of being a lamb. Christmas Tree Farm is just OK. I don't see it being played 30 years from now as a Christmas classic. It may be a cute song, but it is far from a timeless Christmas essential in my opinion. I can see radio stations mixing it with a Christmas music for the holidays but it is not a monster hit like Mariah's or Bing's or even Wham!

Re: Mariah's Christmas concert performances (91,483) (91,491) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Agreed. She's been giving some really nice performances. I have been enjoying the Christmas showcases a lot.

Re: O Holy Night (91,474) (91,477) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree Bill. I guess my standards aren't as high as some people. I don't expect to hear the studio record when she performs in 2019. I know that is not realistic. But, I still appreciate hearing O Holy Night during her Christmas shows, because her version of the song is my favorite version ever done of the song.

If anything deserves to be her 19th #1 it's this. It's a classic.

Re: Hark. The Hearld Angels Sing live video (91,365) (91,373) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Yes it's still on there right now. I just meant there's no promise that Netflix will keep something available. Lots of things I have enjoyed (not related to Mariah) have been removed before. That's why I still prefer to buy my own copy if I know the program is something I want to keep. They may very well keep the concert on there, but I've had stuff removed too many times.

Re: Billboard most successful female honor (91,364) (91,372) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
There are some people who say she’s completely lost the ability to be humble but I disagree. I felt it in this article and I love that she took the time to reference songs like Endless Love and The Roof. Well deserved Mariah.

Re: Hark. The Hearld Angels Sing live video (91,353) (91,355) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree 100%. I'd buy the full concert if they made it available on iTunes or something. I get that dvd and Blu Rays don't sell well anymore, but a platform like Netflix changes out the content, once gone, good luck seeing it again. Lol.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,335) (91,337) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree Bill. To be honest if I never hear about JLo again it would work for me. I've heard enough of the "I don't know her" meme to last the rest of my life. Having followed her since 1990, not sure that we could hear anything about her marriage to Tommy etc that hasn't already been said. I am more interested in what she could potentially share that hasn't been discussed for decades. Her insight on music, any wisdom she might impart, what she may choose to be vulnerable about. I will be reading what she has to share in the book and don't have any expectations really.

Out of curiousity... (91,325) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Is there anyone on the board from the UK who might be willing to help me with the black and white Cosmo issue? (The one that says Merry Christmas Mariah on the cover.) I'd pay for it of course, and if a physical copy isn't possible I'd settle for scans. Trying to avoid inflated cost and shipping on Ebay. Thanks.

I'm not offended at all, it's just a bit repetitive for me. Canada still loves you. Lol.

Re: Stop what you're doing and praise me (91,295) (91,296) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Happy birthday. I hope you have an amazing day. I will be listening to the whole CB album today in your honor. I must be weird, I don't hate Boy. I'm not a fan of the repetitive squeaky voice on the hook of "You got me" but I'll be playing the whole song just for you.

Re: St John the Divine (91,251) (91,269) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Haha no Licia I was speaking in general terms about how the moment someone makes a contrary comment either the labels of all negative bullies or mean girls or delusional all positive fans get thrown around and then a lot of times people hurl insults back and forth as if having an opinion wins some kind of contest or something. It's crazy. I enjoyed your post about the audio. I apologize my post referencing the other stuff at the same time was a bit confusing. Lol. Sometimes it's like come on it's just an opinion about some music. Is it really that big a deal? Lol.

Re: St John the Divine (91,248) (91,250) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I had a feeling you would respond this way Licia, Edward is allowed his opinion too. It would be so nice if Mariah could release something without people lighting torches and coming for each other based on some words written on a post. I remember I didn't like I Don't at all when it came out. I said I loved the concert but don't care if others have things they don't like. I'm still going to happily love it. I loved the song Caution most people on the board described the track as generic and forgettable. Does it affect my enjoyment of the song at all? Nope. Sorry

Re: St John the Divine (91,230) (91,232) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree with Bill on this one, I appreciate the concert. I enjoy hearing the adlibs and imperfections. For me the experience wouldn't be the same without them. I confide myself lucky we have this on CD at all and my physical copy arrives Monday, looking forward to the artwork and eventually the cd single. One of the reasons I can't spend the energy being upset at her for having insecurities is because I can understand how she developed them. People get upset if something sounds too edited and they get upset if it's left alone too. I'll be listening to this lots and so glad it is in her Christmas catalogue now.
