About Warrior Butterfly from USA: Hello MCA-ers!

I have finally decided to join but have followed MCA since the late 1990s' I've known of Mariah since the MTV Unplugged era and became a lamb with butterfly in 1997.

Kids' age at divorce (50,244) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Mariah was three when her parents divorced and my kids are 3 almost 4 (if I did the math right). I find it kind of ironic with her first marriage, no kids, her second marriage kids but divorced at the same age she was when her parents divorced.

Social media, why not with Mariah Carey? (50,199) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Over the years I've noticed Mariah can have this presence where she almost feels untouchable or reliable. Not through her songs, just her as a person. Before Shania Twain went to Vegas she did a docu-series with Oprah (Mariah and Oprah always seem to get along). It followed Shania through her journey to get back on stage after a major personal set back. She didn't get to nitty gritty of the bad things but put more of the focus on who Shania Twain was as a person and what brough her to this point in her life. Revisiting her past all the way to where she was standing at that moment. After seeing the program my prospective of Ms. Twain shifted from her being a singer to a actual person. Maybe if Mariah sat with Oprah or allowed the public in general to get a bit closer, cry, yell, laugh she might not appear so distant from her fans or the general public.

Records are made to be broken (50,110) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Oprah said this to Mariah in '99. I think when she got nervous about being so close to braking the Beatles' record. New talent will always be around the corner. Realistically Mariah will not hold her records forever.

05 VOL perfomance (50,034) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Mark 2:29 I love her growl she doesn't do this very often it fit great with VOL the poor her heart out feel. It's tied with If It's Over on SNL 1991. More growl would would be nice it's also featured in ATYNAF toward the end.

Re: Mariah's fans are no lambs (50,021) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Lamb or fan, I believe we all know why and when we became fans or lambs which ever best identifies the reader. Mariah is not the only artist to lose or gain fans through a career. I think the cycle of people that come and go is a natural occurrence for any entertainer. Their are those of us that prefer classic Mariah Carey (the Columbia years), there are those that prefer Mimi (Island Def Jam to today). These two incarnation are what appeals to the audience be it image, voice, style of music being produced, live performances and so on. Something from these evolutions either drew people to her or away depending on personal preference. When Butterfly was released I remember a lot of people though she went nuts and abandoned ship. Others this is when Mariah was introduced to them. A version of her that was more urban and modern so it reached a younger audience. Same can be said with Mimi, some left some joined the ride. I wounder if any of the new observers when ever they came along has ever done a full examination of her 25+ year anthology as entire body of work.

What's that link address? It didn't work. Or a key word search for YouTube. Thanks.

Favoriet look and more (49,966) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
A favorite look of MC's was 2005 Fly Like A Bird. I loved the long flowing skirt with a V neck top. I though it was very elegant and mature looking fitting for any age. Youthful but not trying to be too young. Same with the red dress at MTV Movie Awards, very nice. Mariah used to sing her songs without in-ear monitors but for large stadiums and arenas. It's practiced to prevent hearing loss from what a I read also so that musicians can hear themselves separately from what going on around them. Over the years ear pieces have began to serve for other purposes. I would love it if Mariah Carey did a Micheal Bublé. For his encore he "unplugged" literally, no in-ear monitors, no wires pulled them through his suite. He sang his heart out. Amazing visually and sounded great while impressing the crowd. This clip is not from the show I attended but supports my idea.

Lambs of Asia To The World press image (49,827) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I saw the "Lambs of Asia To The World - press image". Frankly Mariah already had an album called #1's in 1998, so a different title like "More #1's" let's keep moving forward exclude anything after Butterfly, make it a truly update a continuation. I re-conceptualized the sequence 50/50 half new #1's and half new stuff.
1. Touch My Body
2. Don't Forget About Us
3. We Belong Together
4. Heartbraker
5. Thank God I Found You
Bonus
6. Hope Street
7. Don't Try So Hard
8. Climb It (To The Top)
9. Save The Day
10. Vision of Love
Just to show where is all began, maybe the original demo version or re-recorded. Yes with only five tracks it looks more like an EP however with the bonuses it would fresh out to a complete standard ten track album.

Thanks for the explanation, it makes better sense. It drove me nuts that I couldn't figure it out. Much love.

Money ($ * / ...) (49,789) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I'm not a big fan of the song in general. Does any one know what the ($ * / ...) means. H.A.T.E.U. was "Having A Typical Emotional Upset" which was a guessing game with Mariah over twitter or something when it was released. Is Money ($ * / ...) suppose to be a curse word or Money (Yeah I'm Rich). I can't figure it out. What ever a song is supposed to be titled please just spell it out.

Re: jaker20 Mariah's catalog (49,764) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Elton John can't sing his 1970s up register anymore however he has modified his work to fit his lower tone and still can deliver a great rendition of "Bennie and the Jets" for example along with many other tracks.

Divorcing (49,706) by Nina (49,748) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
If memory serves I think there was something similar with Tommy Mottola. She still gives broad answers whenever asked about her marriage to Tommy. I could not find it but I think a videoclip of Mariah being asked about Tommy that is floating around, the interviewer acknowledging that she is under a confidentiality agreement before asking the question. The closest straight forward explanation was with Larry king 2002. At the end of our day Mariah and Nick is really none of our business. If either want to cross the bridge later that is up to them.

Mixed feelings something is not right (49,712) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I just watched the WBT clip and I agree with G.G. Also it's not that she walked of stage during the climax, something is not right in general with her as a person. Not a missed que she has this strange vibe about her like in 2001 on TRL. Something is wrong outside her publicly known problems. It actually makes me sad for her a human being, it is not like she can ask for a leave absence from the HR dept she is Mariah Carey, inc. I'm wondering if Jamaica was a test run for her, I don't think it was mentioned that far in advance. When Britney went to Vegas you would to have been living in middle earth to not know. There were talk show stops all over, pictures, posters you name it, no way to miss it. I really do hope Mariah Carey, Inc gets some rest and maybe some balance and let Mariah (the person) breath a bit.

Road to Vegas (49,506) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I was talking with my best friend, as a off hand joke I mentioned Mariah will be in Vegas this summer. Oh well maybe in my next life. Out of the blue she says "You wanna go?" Come to find out she is fan as well. Then we seriously starting thinking about it and then it evolved to a good plot. We have not made a final decision because there is Circus Olay and The Blue Man Group to name a few acts, plus it has been a trying year for both off us. I've never been to Vegas as an adult. So we have to choose one or the other, because of financial cost over all (travel, lodging, tickets).

Fifth Harmony - Like Mariah (49,478) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I think it would have really neat if Fifth Harmony had sampled the banjo in the beginning of ABMB. instead of the "Do do do dow, do do do do do do dow" vocals.

The [...] of "eternally 12" (49,459) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I was thinking of Mariah's constant reference of being "eternally 12" [...] it makes a bit of physiological sense being that Mariah's debut album was released 25 years ago. But if we do the math from 2015 back, that means in 2003 she's was at the end of the "Charmbracelet" era. Her and Luis Miguel are over, the [...] done, her contractual obligation to [...] is legally complete. So for her to keep saying the number 12 means she is further and further removed from past eras that were not so pleasant in her opinion. Hints her denying she knew Luis Miguel which would fall in place in the time line. 2003 he would not have existed at 12. From what I have found she starts using the frame of being "eternally 12" in 2001 means that 2001-12 is 1989. She's working on her debut, the slate is already clean from the [...] moving forward. If we use the MOAIA 2009 when she was married to Nick Cannon in 6 years by 2021 this phase of her life will no longer exist either. See where this is heading.

Mariah rereleased wish (49,409) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
Holly rawness Mariah's unedited style has stirred me. "I love it even more now," said like Olaf. Stupid joke but worth it, I must say it has been a while since I've had a chill from her. The Tattoo Club mini concert would be a great gem for lambs for MC25 just saying as a DVD bonus feature for the "The First Vision". I can see why "Someday" was removed commercially back then but after 25 years it's okay let it go. MTV Unplugged; after years of arguing that live is always better, her show in it's entirety my wish is for Sony/Columbia of who ever the hell they are now I can't keep track, go Nirvana and release the entire show screw ups and all.

Nick's rap backfire (49,141) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I wonder if Mr. Cannon thinks that this clip could be googled by his children years down the road and if he'll be prepared to answer some awkward questions.

Mariah Daily Journal finally updated (49,095) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
They have done a post about the "rumor" of Mariah doing a residency in Vegas. I have read in the past that MDJ, is controlled or at least over scene by Mariah's team. How can it be fan page if fans are not in control?

Viva la Mariah (48,997) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
This might be a good re-surge for her Celine and Britney both reside their and do albums also both have said it was easier to be with their families. Also Garth Brooks and Shania Twain both had great runs. From what I have read it's not as huge as a stadium so it's easier to accommodate your audience as smaller crowd. Barry Manilow talks to his audience either as whole or individually depending on the night. I'd say go for it. Vegas is not really seen as place old musician go and live their golden years but a re-birth.

The undubbed (48,934) (48,991) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
It explains why the performance seems a bit odd on the dvd editing wise, must have taken forever. Take 3 seems like the main version used.
