Mariah's 25th Aniversery (48,894)

Happy New Year lambily. I've been wanting Mariah to embrace this era for a while, it's what made her. She gave a nod to it on the MOAIA with the recreation photo shoot, I get a strong feeling Nick has something to do with her strongly embracing her musical catalog during the Columbia years. Just dreaming here include the album as it was released in 1990 and have a disc of a remastered version that included demos and original versions/alternate takes of the tracks even the one that didn't make it the entire session periods. Maybe use a photo from the cover shoot that we haven't found or has been used oh better the full shot used for the cover originally it's been spotted for promotional use and in small version on early mag articles and covers. Include the video anthology and re-work the booklet not just the lyrics but a behind the music vibe for each track from WA, TM and MC since they were all involved put the drama aside and do a solid just my thoughts

More for "The Wind" (48,849)

I was floating around some Mariah tumblr's and found this gem. There is a entire section of classic Mariah mag transcripts, one that I really enjoyed is Full Effect issue #9 1991 "Mariah Carey reveals her Emotions", in it Mariah discusses "The Wind" and how WA came across it for Mariah's album Emotions. I googled what WA had discovered and heard this great interpretation.

Next album - The Mariah Carey Show (48,817)

As a vintage lamb , I think a Jazz/Blues album could be every cleansing with a Sarah McLachlan feel album. Draw from her real life in a more raw way, direct (Eminem type of honesty) where we as general listeners know exactly what the message is without following his career extensively. It could be a very refreshing recharge of her work. I know MC writes in a broader style so everyone can take what her music means to them, and she has achieved this type of honesty before without much guess work or metaphors Looking In, MIH, Outside, CME, Petals - if you already thoroughly familiar with MC's bio - Sunflowers For Roy, to name a few stand outs. The average listener dipping in and out of MC's music in general might question what does she mean by this line, verse or song for those who really dig lyrical content or story telling. Someone not aware of lamb culture if you will, could get lost in her lyrical presentation and think what was that about exactly?

My favorite look for Mariah in general is the Columbia years. An updated version of Mariah was her flow off the shoulder shifts while on HSN in 2011. I believe it was very fresh but sophisticated. I think she called her gypsy look. Very cute.

I think it comes down to what era Mariah was in when the fan/lamb discovered her for them self's Butterfly is a great body of work her image and state of being were in good balance. After watching a special on VH1 called One To One about Butterfly, I found her back catalog I drifting into her early work naturally, 1990-1997. The reason quality of her lyrics and music presentation over all for the alums as a whole, yes these are the WA/MC years and they were great. I've always loved hearing an artist voice there is nothing to hide. "Vanishing", "So Blessed", MIH MTV Unplugged 3:10 mark percussion and MC, "Music Box", GRYMG, "Melt Away" and "The Beautiful Ones" real talent, slow ballad type stuff, but wow. Her later material sounds very mainstream I've caught myself questioning "is that MC" because it seemed less destructive vocally as for legendary honors that seems allude her because the legends seem to accept their age and time in the industry to where Mariah appears to avoid it all together, case in point Rosemary Clooney she aged with her natural state of being and her fans were able to evolve with her. A modern comparison Michael Buble his voice and style are his take it or leave it he don't care, Mariah cares and feels very unobtainable, Michael could go out for drink after the show. Mariah's more mature material was in the beginning introspective full of feelings and narratives everyone could reach and her pop fun was later, so it like she went reverse.

Hello MCA-ers. I have finally decided to join but have followed MCA since the late 1990s' I've known of Mariah since the MTV Unplugged era and became a lamb with butterfly in 1997. I just wanted to share the link to a acoustic version of "AIWFCIY". I really like the stripped down take very simple. The scatting at the end wow I think my favorite style of Mariah, hope to talk to you soon.
