About Tevin from USA: A laid back guy that loves Mariah!

Re: Beacon (69,956) (69,962) by Tevin from USA
This is going to be my first Mariah concert I'm going to, she better be on time, because some of us have to get up early for work the next day. Lol.

The Voice Miley (68,826) by Tevin from USA
Did you guys watch The Voice top 10? Miley picked "Without You" for her team member, and she gave props to Mariah.

Re: Why Mariah is the way she is (68,516) (68,555) by Tevin from USA
Hey Mandy I understand your point of view. I really don't care how Mariah acts in her life, it's her life and in reality does not affect me. I know she went through more then we will ever know, and I do hope she finds true happiness in life. But I do expect one thing from her, that she has not given in a long time at least since 2010, and that's to get up on stage and sing, sing her heart out, with no smoke and mirrors, but with imperfections and reflections, and with passion. I just want her to sing. For being considered the greatest vocalist in the world, is that really to much to ask? Like I said, I just hope she is happy, it really does pain me when you see that look on her face when you realize that she realizes she can't sing like she used to, and lately I've been seeing that look on her face more and more. I honestly think she is not lazy as some have said, I think she has just lost her passion. I mean imagine you woke up one day and for a whole week you sung in front of people and you had the same exact voice and vocal skill as 1994-96 Mariah. The next week you wake up to sing in front of the same people and you sound like 2014 Rockefeller or 2015 Japan tour Mariah, and knowing you can never go back. I know these are extreme examples and Mariah still sings good (Infamous was great) but I hope you see my point.

Re: Click like on this if you won't be watching MW (68,515) (68,554) by Tevin from USA
Good observations Andrew. But I don't think Mariah started off with such a big ego and waco as some people have called it. Have you ever seen Mariah perform VOL at the Apollo theater? Talk about stage fright, she kept her eyes closed for most of the performance, and she messed up her lead up to the line "turned out to be" because she opened her eyes and was in shock with how the crowed was going crazy over the amazing vocal run she just unleashed. That's the Mariah I missed, the one who walked on stage with something to prove, and left thinking she should have given even more. Anyway I do think Glitter changed Mariah, ever since then even doing here comeback, she always had this glossy look behind her eyes (maybe I'm reading to much into this lol), anyway stressful and tramadic events in peoples lives can cause havoc on a person mental state. I'm not saying this is true of Mariah, because we don't know her personally, but with the way she has been acting lately, who knows? I will just hope for the best. Also for some new music.

I just kept thinking of when Busta Ryhmes told the dj to turn the music down, "So we can hear Mariah better". The look on her poor face was like, "Is this fool serious right not?" Lol but I'm sure Mariah knows to bring her A game.

Re: Mariah Carey One Sweet Day is saved (68,383) (68,424) by Tevin from USA
Thank you for the correction webmaster, I must have read the info wrong online, so did Boys To Men [sic] have a number one that was dethroned by OSD, instead of it dethroning OSD? [Webmaster: Nope. "Fantasy" (8 weeks, Mariah Carey) was dethroned by "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" (1 week, Whitney Houston), which was dethroned by "One Sweet Day".]

Re: Mariah Carey One Sweet Day is saved (68,380) (68,383) by Tevin from USA
I agree mimi l. OSD would have lasted number 1 even longer on the Billboard charts had Boys To Men [sic] delayed there [sic] next single which knocked OSD off its throne. [Webmaster: Not true. "One sweet day" was replaced by "Because you loved me" by Celine Dion. Boyz II Men next number one was in 1997 with "4 Seasons of loneliness", which replaced "Honey" by Mariah Carey.]

Speaking of a changing voice, even though it happens to men (usually they lose power and richness as they age) but I always wonder how female singers deal with the voice changing because listening to a lot of female singers, they [...] to have the same problem as men but also added on top of that most of [...] voices get deeper. I love [...] by the way.

Didnt Mariah sing and nail part of "If only you knew" back in 98 for a tribute to [...]. I thought she song that with a montage of [...]. It [...] be nice if she would do the same thing again, but I [...] it because people would probably compare it to her original live version.

Thanks B for the info, I knew at certain parts it sounds like Ashanti is singing and not J Lo. I thought I was just going crazy all these years. Did Ashanti ever comment on this?

Re: Does Mariah get a double-standard? (66,329) (66,335) by Tevin from USA
Yes Mariah gets and deserves a double standard because Mariah is better than those women, and she has the undeniable talent to back it up, while those women has to use gimics to futher there careers. Not saying she cant be sexy but she shouldn't have to sacrifice class for it. She hadn't in the past and she shouldn't have to do it now.

Vocal issue with other singers (66,165) by Tevin from USA
So we all know that many singers have been suffering from vocal issues from, Ed Sharron to Adele, to Araina (?). But I was looking up singers on YouTube and I came across Leona Lewis who I haven't heard in a while, and even though she sounds good her voice, transition, measaliums are no where near as good as they were before, even her fans in the comment section has been talking about this. Anyway I wanted to bring up this point because people get on Mariah for sing only for about a decade (I'm counting from 1988 when she started recording) to 1997-98, before having serious vocal problems but they act like she is the only one. Leona Lewis has been singing about the same time span 2006-2016 and her voice doesn't nearly the same at all. How Mariah sounded from Daydream to Rainbow is basiclly how Leona is sounding now. Hopefully her vocals will improve. I know stress played a big part on her voice problems and im sure it did the same with Mariah. Anyway I hope she can come back strong like Mariah did. And I just wanted to make a point that Mariah isn't the only one the peaked early in their career.

Re: Eternally 12 (66,146) (66,164) by Tevin from USA
You hit the nail in the coffin Andrew. This is what makes me so mad, because fans turn around and say things like, "The real Mariah is found in her lyrics, or who she truly is, is in the music she makes." Even Mariah has said the real her can be found in some of her songs. But then Mariah goes on a show and or an interview and downplays or bashes her earlier songs with deep meaning and lyrics as if they mean nothing to her. Remeber them I think it was last year on GMA or Today show playing a video of Mariah singing Vision Of Love and Mariah couldn't even look at herself in the video. So sad. I'm still a fan but the way Mariah has been acting or at least protraying herself to the public and bashing anything pre 2005 minus Butterfly era, leaves me sitting her pissed like who the frick is the real Mariah?

Re: The voice dilemma (65,608) (65,628) by Tevin from USA
I wish Mariah did what she did in the Daydream era. It's kind of ironic that the Daydream era was her most technical live singing wise (minus the runs in the butterfly era), but the Daydream cd was one of her most easy cd vocally wise. Probably the only two that would have been easier to record was Memories, and Charmbraclet. Anyway the point is she should record a solid album with simple lyrics, clear and catchy hooks and in a key that she can perform live, and that would allow her to pull a Daydream live moment and out sing or sound better than her recordings. Anyway my two cents for the night, just incase you guys want to cash out now.

Re: Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,567) (65,574) by Tevin from USA
Wow, no wonder Mariah said she hated the show. Week after week she tried being nice to Lazoro even though his singing was off key a lot and he spent more time forgetting the lyrics then singing them, while Mariah was taking flak from everyone about being to nice of a judge and giving no critques. Then the one and first time she gives tells him she didnt like his performance he goes backstage a brings up one if not the most diffcult and painful time in Mariah's life in 2001. Low class dude, low class. That attitude will get you know where. By the way when is Lazoro's first album coming out? [sarcasm] I'm sure Mariah will be the first one to buy it while she sits reminicing on her days back in 2001 while sitting on her millions, oops I mean in a couple months billions.

Mimi L, I still can't believe Hero is their "go to song". That is just weird. That sounds like sonething R Kelly would listen to with his new 19 year old girl friend. Creapy on so many levels.

A little message to make everyone's day (64,268) by Tevin from USA
So I was downloading music online yesterday legally, and I decided to download JLo's old song "Love don't cost a thing". Well it's funny because for some reason the title and the single showed up as unarmed lol. Guess my computer "does not know her as well". Have a great day people.

That probably means either someone screwed up and filmed the wrong side of Mariah's face, or Stella wanted to have more face time in the series.
