I'm waiting anxiously. Something big is about to happen, I can feel it.

Re: AIWFCIY (100,397) (100,403) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
This is absolutly ridiculous, embarrasing really, everyone who reads this story, and I mean absolutly every human being on earth, will understand that this lawsuit is an example of a totally unknown artist trying to get his pension funds filled up and profit from the most recognisable Christmas song ever written. Good luck.

Re: Why I want another #1 (100,334) (100,346) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I actually disagree a bit. When I talk to people from the ages of 16-25, who only know Mariah as an Christmas act, and maybe a song or two besides AIWFCIY (and they absolutly love that song), I have learned that Madonna is being considered toxic, Celine is respected, but considered boring, Whitney Houston is loved, but they know nothing about her, Janet is forgotten, Barbra has nobody heard of, and Diana Ross is some old diva they think is dead. When I tell them I love Mariah and listen to her a lot, they just say "cool". She is actually respected here in Norway by the younger generation, but it is mostly based on AIWFIY's success. Besides, Mariah is always classy during Christmas time, and that is what they know.

Remember guys, we are really biased on this board, because we have followed Mariah's footsteps from the beginning, we know everything she has done, not even the casual Mariah fans have the knowledge we have, so our perception of Mariah is coloured by our knowledge. The new generation, here in Norway at least, see Mariah as a fun, classy and joyful Christmas act, with an occasional rnb song here and there. The most popular Mariah songs in Norway, besides her Christmas hit, are Love Takes Time, I'll Be There, When You Believe, Without You and Hero, nothing unclassy about those songs.

The last true superstar (100,272) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
It's not looking good for Madonna, or the "queen" of pop, after she has now put her 3D model of her vagina, giving birth to butterflies, amongst other speices, for all to purchase.

I really do think now that Mariah is the only mentally balanced superstar that is left, enjoying life by her pool and tennis court, but maybe with a bit too much sparkling wine, but who wouldn't have done that to relax if you are a familiar face for almost every human being on earth. After this socially suicidal move from Madonna, Mariah's status is actually increasing, because she only give people good vibes. Celine Dion is also on the path of self destruction.

I think we can be proud of our beloved Mariah, she has managed to stay mostly grounded, while other superstars go crazy by the minute. Britney has freed herself, but her fans have questioned her behavior lately, and worried if it was premature to release her from her guardianship.

Mariah is the only one of the living legends who actually seem to have her s**t together, keep it going, Mariah, I'm rooting for you.

Re: Dreamlover appreciation (100,257) (100,258) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I agree, I think Dreamlover is one of Mariah's best songs, and I get happy everytime I listen to it. But it's up to the general public if a song turns into a classic or not. Whether a song becomes a classic or not, is no exact science, some songs do turn into a classic, some don't. I think it's better to just appreciate that Fantasy, ABMB, Hero, Without You and AIWFCIY have become classics, that is no easy feat for any aetist.

Re: Why does the Billboard article credit Mariah on BE? (100,253) (100,256) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I find it utterly untrue that Billboard has been against Mariah. What I have experienced, is that Billboard is the only music news outlet that actually praises Mariah's success, but that is maybe just my opinion.

Re: BBE UK iTunes (100,209) (100,210) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Yes, it's incredible. I'm so happy for Mariah's success, and it's so fun that the kids get to know how cool Mariah was back in the day, and that she is more than a Christmas act. Anytime You Need a Friend is currently at #1 on the iTunes RnB Top 100 in the UK, I have never experienced Mariah being on top of that list. Big Energy Remix has really put Mariah back on the map, and I admit, I had lost faith in that happening again, and she does it with a 27 year old song, one of the best songs she has ever made. What a time to be a Mariah fan.

Re: Mariah credited in UK and Oz (100,187) (100,190) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I have the same optimism and hope for the song, it seems like a song that is slowly growing in popularity, really wish this remix can be a modest hit for Mariah.

Billboard Hot 100 (100,129) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Does anybody know where "Big Energy Remix" will chart on this week's Billboard Hot 100? Has the remix been streamed more than 50% of the time? Very anxious.

Re: Stella would've gotten her credited (100,115) (100,117) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Please don't mention her name in this happy moment in Mariah's life. Why won't she get credited?

Re: #3 (100,111) (100,112) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Yes, I dream of that too, it would be so fun, and it would make headlines all over the world, that she has broken The Beatles' record. I remember when she got that 18 #1, even my dad and brother seemed surprised and finally realized that Mariah is a legendary artist. Anyway, even though "Big Energy" might only stay in the top 10, it's her biggest success since #Beautiful, and that is a while ago, even though it seems like yesterday.

Played the song for my mom earlier today, and even though I might have traumatized her with my constant loud playing of Mariah's music, even she liked the remix and said "Who can forget that Mariah song?" when talking about Fantasy. My mother has always followed Mariah in the news and stuff, so she's always up to par about what is going on in Mariah's life, because she feels like Mariah is almost a friend of mine.

Re: #3 (100,101) (100,102) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Yes, but she didn't even get at #1 back then, not until AIWFCIY went to #1 a few years ago.

I was too young in '94, and really can't remember listening to Mariah, started noticing her when she released Butterfly.

But fully enjoyed the Emancipation era, even though also then, her success in Norway was limited.

Latto in Norway (100,097) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I just wrote in the previous message that Mariah never gets played in Norway, but I at lest just heard Latto's "Big Energy" get used in this celebrity cocking reality show that;s on a Norwegian channel right now. Maybe people will get interested in the remix too if they liked it.

Re: #3 (100,095) (100,096) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Oh, good to know. Then I can't wait for next week's chart. I haven't heard it on the radio here, but people in Norway have never been particularly fond of Mariah. Listened to it a lot myself, it's so fresh.

Re: #3 (100,082) (100,094) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
So sad to not see Mariah's name at #3 on Billboard Hot 100, no statistics for Mariah. At least, we the fans, know that this chart position is thanks to Mariah, and that is somewhat a relief.

Sorry Bill, I was a bit drunk and in a bad mood. Yes, let's hear what you take on the remix.

Re: Big big fantasy (100,054) (100,056) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I'm a bit worried this release also will just fade away without the public realising it even exist. It is at #2 on the worldwide iTunes chart, but as people are pointing out here, the streaming numbers are atrocious. I will for sure enjoy the remix all summer, but I wish the general public also would enjoy this bop. I agree it sounds more of a Latto remix of a Mariah song, but I think that's because we are well aware of Mariah's back catalogue, and we recognize the Tom Tom Club sample instantly, most people don't do that, and don't know Mariah "owns" this sample.

Anyway, anxious to see if the remix will chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Statistics (100,047) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
If you haven't heard about this site, you should, it's my go to site when I want to explore what's popular in music on different platforms at the moment. And what it seems like, Mariah's remix is more than twice as big on the iTunes US chart than the song in second place, just amazing.

Re: Remix (100,039) (100,042) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I agree with you, another new written verse from Mariah would have been perfect. Also, I feel the song doesn't have a climax, I have listened to it 50 times, at least, now, but I start it from the beginning again after Latto has rapped after Mariah's verse. Understand me correctly, I absolutely love the remix, I feel this spring will be the best in years, but after the Mariah part, the song fades away, if you know what I mean, I whish it had some type of climax.

Gonna listen to it again now, and again, and again, and again.

iTunes world chart (100,041) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
The remix is currently #4 on the iTunes world chart. I haven't been this excited about a new Mariah release in years, have high hopes this could be a bit of a resurgence for our beloved Mariah.

Keep up with the zeitgeist, honey, we don't care about MTV Unplugged at the moment, we're too busy listening to Mariah's fierce new remix.

Status iTunes 06.30PM (100,033) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
So, I had to brows through iTunes, and this is the status at 06.30PM, or 18.30, as we say in Europe:

USA: #1
Australia: #2
Sweden: #7
UK: #11
Brazil: #11
France: #15
Spain: #28
Canada: #29
Italy: #68
Germany: #80

In Norway, where I live, Mariah hasn't even charted, I live in the wrong country as a Lamb.

Remix (100,022) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Though there's nothing new from Mariah on this remix, I absolutely love it.
