About Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway: Been a fan since 1998, but love most of her music since her debut. Favorite album: "Butterfly" Favorite song: "Always Be My Baby"

Save the day (95,176) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I really want to like "Save the Day", and I listen to it repeatedly, but I'm still not a fan of it, I feel a bit ashamed really. Even though I'm not that big of a fan, I have routinely checked iTunes top 100, and the song has been in the top since it was released, and as a Mariah fan I hope the song will crack the Billboard Hot 100.

What I'm curious about is, what does it take to get a song on Billboard Hot 100 these days? Will a stellar performance on iTunes top 100 be enough?

Love.

When Mariah lipsyncs (94,479) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
What is your give away to tell when Mariah lipsyncs? For me it is her eye brows, when her eye brows don't move, she is lip syncing.

What will Mariah be remembered for? (94,396) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Please help me guys, I'm in a bit of a depressed mood and think that the only thing Mariah will be remembered [for] is "All I Want For Christmas is You". Tell me, what else will Mariah be known for?

How to sing high (94,198) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I think that this is a very [interesting] video, and maybe shows that the detoriation of Mariah's voice isn't just age or tare, but that she's using a different technique to [reach] the high notes than the nasal queens.

Mariah's voice (94,177) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I just watched the performance [of] Home for the specials, that was post Glitter and she sounded amazing. Is it because she had a lot of rest, maybe no alcohol or other substances, yes I think that is the case.

I think the [reason] Mariah's voice is in such poor state out of lately, is because she drinks too much alcohol, doesn't get [enough] practice or rest. Remember she called the mansion [where] she lived with Tommy Mottola "Sing sing"? I think Mariah feel that [practicing] her voice is a bad thing, and she doesn't practice enough because it has a lot of bad memories to it.

If Mariah took a break from partying, practiced, she [would] have a voice in a good shape.

Re: I Don't (94,136) (94,151) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I actually love I Don't, but don't listen to it often. I agree that the video is horrendous, but I don't think it ruined the song. Whenever I listen to it I sing along and dance with the groove.

Re: Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour (94,123) (94,131) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I think this is one of her best performances the last few years, and I was there, crying through the whole song.

Not only was Without You perfect at her show in Oslo, this performance of Against All Odds was a performance to remember, and I was there.

Listening to Caution (94,103) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
It's been a long time since I listened to Caution. And I think that the album got rave reviews is because it's not really a Mariah album, Mariah was experimental and that payed off.

I have read the critical messages about Mariah's latest performance of MIH/TTR, she being nasal, not able to sing like she used to, and I agree. Her not being able to sing is what made Caution, she couldn't sing on that album either, relying heavily on production.

Mariah should sing in the register she has now, also her older songs. She should release an album with ballads an uptempo songs in her lower register.

Loverboy (94,028) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I actually love "Loverboy" but I can't get over how slutty and trashy Mariah wanted to be. I became a fan during "Butterfly", so this was her third album after. When I see "Loverboy" now, I can't help but laugh, it's so trashy.

Funeral (93,934) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I know this might be a morbid question, but which Mariah song would you have liked to be played at your funeral?

If I had died today, my family would have known that I would have wanted a Mariah song to be played at my funeral, but I don't think they would have known which song.

The song I would have wanted to be played is "Butterfly".

E=MC2 (93,932) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
My favourite track from E=MC2 is IBLYLT, and this performance is divine. The opening is incredible, it's like the big bang is marching in to Mariah.

#1 on iTunes (93,896) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Just read the Rolling Stone article, and had to check the iTunes album chart again. E=MC2 is at #11, still going strong. But more interesting, Madonna's "Bedtime Stories" is at #1, have Mariah's fans starting a trend where the fandoms are getting their artists a top of the charts? Are the Madonna fans jealous? I wonder.

Re: iTunes (93,810) (93,819) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I check the iTunes top 100 rnb songs charts for many countries regularly to see if Mariah is charted. She is on the Brazilian charts all the time, but for the US, UK, Australia etc. she is [rarely] charted. Only once in a while you can find Mariah on the rnb charts. On the same charts you'll always find at least three Whitney Houston songs. This makes me a bit worried for Mariah's longevity.

Listening to Glitter (93,716) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Lately I have found myself listening a lot to Glitter, I actually love Loverboy. But I think Mariah's image was the reason the project tanked. I think Mariah thought that being sexy is what sells in the music buisness.

During the Butterfly era Mariah was classy sexy, and I really love how she looked, dark hair, dark sexy clothes, smoked eyes, she was genuine but sexy.

But something went wrong during the Rainbow era, Mariah seemed to just wanting show her boobs and legs, and music came second. She was cheesy sexy, her reputation went to the dogs.

And then Glitter came along, and now she only wanted to be a porn star, or that what it seems. I think the public was so fed up with Mariah's boobs, they didn't want anyting to do with Glitter or Loverboy.

Just look at the transformation, the lead singles from Daydream, Butterfly, Rainbow and Glitter. No wonder she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder during the the Glitter release, and I can say that being bipolar myself. I think Mariah went utterly crazy during the production of Glitter and Loverboy, and thought that an overly sexy/trashy look was all it took to sell Loverboy.

I'm so glad The Emancipation of Mimi again showed how classy Mariah can be. She became an A-lister again, and she never lost her status, she will for ever be music prominence.

What if (93,684) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
What if Mariah never divorced Tommy Mattola an continued with similar music as on "Music Box" and "Daydream", do you think Mariah would had the same success? Yes, "Butterfly" and "Rainbow" were successful, but do you guys ever think that the success would have been greater with Tommy by Mariah's side?

Favourite non successful song (93,524) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
What is your favourite non successful song? Mine is "Almost Home". I listen to that song all the time, think it is the best Mariah has done in the last ten years besides #Beautiful.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey delivers intimate "Always By My Baby" (93,451) (93,452) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I was a bit disappointed with the performance because I was eager to hear the bridge of ABMB in such an intimate setting, but she just skipped it, proving she can't sing that part anymore. She sounded great thoug, before the bridge.

Net worth (93,369) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
How has Mariah's net worth gone from 520 millions to 320 millions in two years? Is her life that extravagant? Will Mariah go bankrupt in a couple of years?

Slipping Away (93,326) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
My favourite Mariah song of all time is Always Be My Baby, but I actually think Slipping Away is the best song Mariah has ever recorded. Too bad it never hit the airwaves, it's brilliant.

My playlist for tonight (93,268) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I was in the mood for Mariah tonight, and it first started with "Slipping Away", then I turned to "Loverboy". After that I put on "We Belong Together" at Live 8, then I swiched to "If it's Over" at Grammy awards, then "Honey", and lastly "Almost Hime".

What do this tell me about my Mariah devotion?

Nothing special (93,257) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I became a fan in 1998 after I heard "My All" on the radio, I managed to record it on tape while listening to the radio and [absolutely] fell in love with that voice. I remember I had seen the "Honey" video on MTV earlier, but that song didn't do it for me, now it's one of my favourites and love to put in on at parties. I miss the late [nineties] when Mariah was still popular, and I'm [grateful] for [experiencing] TEOM and [E=MC2], it's [joyful] to have lived during her renaissance.

Even though I have no recollection of ever hearing Mariah in the early nineties, I was [too] young I guess, born in 1983, I find my self often to be nostalgic about those times, as if I experienced Mariah, even though I didn't. Today I listened to the Daydream album, and it's as if I can remember those times in 95/96, but I didn't, what is that about?

What a feeling (93,240) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Living in Norway, where Mariah has never been big (her only number one is AIWFCIY), it's such a treat when you hear her songs being played. Yes, she is regularly played at easy listening radio stations, there you can hear "I'll be there", "When You Believe", "Hero" and "Love Takes Time".

But when I walked through the streets of my home town yesterday, "Always Be My Baby" was played in this coffee shop with speakers in the streets. It is my favourite Mariah song, and it made me so happy.

Has anybody else have stories where you have heard a Mariah song at a random place?
