Name: Robert-Anthony
Country: United States
I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.
Subtle Invitation (103,167) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 12 August 2023; 07:01)
The way MC sings on this song has never been talked about before. It's not her head voice nor is it her whisper voice. She does the same type of singing on GTFO and There Goes My Heart Again. Music majors help me out. Are all three sung in the same key?

I have to make me a copy too. Edward, you just gave me an idea. I am starting The Rarities 2 Twitter campaign tomorrow. Look for it tomorrow evening on MC's Twitter feed.

Edward, I like to keep the board laughing sometimes. It so boring in MC's world right now. She has taken this sabbatical and didn't tell us.

First Vision (103,156) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 10 August 2023; 03:27)
I just realized today that First Vision was never released on DVD in the U.S. I wonder if it will ever be released with some extra live tracks or an extended Patricia and daughter moment. Also, whenever Sony Legacy chooses the time to break our wallets with boxsets and previously unreleased, it is great time for Lambs. Can you imagine all of the early 90s demo songs all on one CD?

Tommy or no career at all (103,151) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Tuesday 8 August 2023; 17:43)
MC never worked with Master P again after that mishap in the studio. Something is just off with her vocals and lyrics. I cringe every time I hear it. I am glad Clown came along on Charmbracelet to remind us what she is capable of when she is focused and works with one of the best and my favorite production duo Dre and Vidal.

Loverboy (103,141) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Sunday 6 August 2023; 16:29)
The Loverboy debacle was probably the catalyst in MC's decline in popularity. First, who was the Virgin AR executive who pitched the idea to the promotional team to sell the single for 49 cents at retailers. The number one female artist at the time and you have to sell her lead album single for 49 cents to ensure a hit on the Hot 100 because radio airplay was weak. Second, the remix was disorganized with all of the special guests who overpowered MC's own remix. I remember back then thinking that there is too much going on the remix. Third, it was MC's first album lead single to not make it to #1. Finally, the Candy sample just did not hit hard enough as a sample for a lead single. After a couple of listens, you get bored with the heavy beat.

Tommy or no career at all (103,137) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Saturday 5 August 2023; 20:54)
I often wonder why did it take Tommy to discover MC. She had this beautiful voice in high school and the help of her brother Morgan after high school. Could it be that if Tommy had never been handed her demo tape, that we probably would have never had a Mariah Carey? The world didn't need another Whitney Houston or Aretha Franklin? MC sounded and emulated the both of them at the beginning of her career. It wasn't until her voice started to change in 1997 that we got a very different sounding Mariah and her musical style evolved into what it is today. I think Potrait gave us the full circle Mariah Carey who looked back at her career in a song. Just me thinking that God is not done with MC yet. This woman has bounced back so many times and caught the world's attention again.

If you know who Tauren Wells is, you would say he reminds me of how MC used to sing. His runs and tone is so MC.

Were I Mariah's manager (103,133) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Friday 4 August 2023; 02:19)
It must be heartbreaking for MC that she can't sing in the studio anymore to record songs for a new project. It has only been 4 years since Caution was released, but man it feels more like 6 years. I am sure there are a lot regrets now about not taking better care of her voice.

Albums (103,123) by Robert-Anthony from United States

I believe MC received a pay out from Epic to dissolve that 3rd album or they counted RCA Inspiration Fall In Love At Christmas as credit for the 3rd album. Epic has dropped MC from their roster.

Mariah's version (103,105) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Sunday 30 July 2023; 15:20)
It became apparent to me today maybe MC's damaged to her voice is irreversible now because of her age and the vocal nodules have enlarged. Who knows maybe I am wrong? However, I feel Caution was probably her last album of new material.

Are you referring to the Apple TV Plus or the Grammys Nomination performance remake? Either way, neither one compares to the flawless original.

(Friday 28 July 2023; 20:47)
Edward, are you saying MC's career over? She can lower the key to fit her current voice. I wish she would collaborate more with Nashville producers like Tedd T and David Garcia who probably could help her craft different versions of her catalogue or just a new song with her current voice.

Taylor Swift just recently released Speak Now Taylor's Version. She is definitely a business woman. I wish MC would re-record more of her most famous songs and her favorites that didn't get much love on the radio or albums. She could do it with the right producer.

Happy 30th anniversary to Dreamlover (103,088) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Thursday 27 July 2023; 23:37)
Was it groundbreaking because of the iconic percussion intro and the almost 1 minute and half dance beat before MC starts singing? Who else was doing what he was doing back in the early 90s? David Morales started the industry to giving club remixes a specific name instead of just calling them the extended version like they were doing in the late 80s.

Lol. Definitely have a hot playlist there. The beauty about Bliss is that it was MC's only sexual themed song until One Mo Gen. I like Bliss better because MC's vocals and incredible whistle notes. Tommy would never have allowed a Bliss type of song prior to 1999. Lol.

(Sunday 23 July 2023; 01:31)
This is wonderful news. $60 million is from the streaming sales of AIWFCIY each year and the other $20 million from her residual and retail income from her regular music. I wonder what her total worldwide album sales for The Rarities is now after two years.

You messing with Daydream? (103,050) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Friday 21 July 2023; 17:46)
Right To Dream is one of my favorite MC songs that never did anything commercially, but it is probably one her best written songs post Glitter era. I really think Willie Nelson really helped MC write a gem. I wish that she would take more chances with other singer/songwriters and not just for a special project or movie. By the way Glitter and TEOM are #3 and #4 for magnum opus.

No controversial song or video (103,040) by Robert-Anthony from United States
(Wednesday 19 July 2023; 21:25)
MC is one of few artists who has never had a controversial song or video. The Obsessed video and song probably would come close to being controversial because she didn't know how Eninem would react to her comedic portrayal of him in the video and the shade lyrics about him. However, she has had many single releases that received a negative promotional plan or very low radio airplay. Can't Take That Away and H.A.T.E.U are on the top of the list for this category.
