About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. Ok? I'm too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Your last post was spot on. There needs to be balance/moderation in all things. Extremes are not healthy nor productive, and IMO extreme viewpoints lead to more drama/arguments. I like how the webmaster posts any article related to Mariah. It allows for more discussion. If the more negative articles bother you, ignore them. Don't read them. You do have a choice.

Edward / tour (47,312) by Stacey from USA
I couldn't agree with you more in regards to your post to Andrew. You have to keep the name-calling out of it. And yet I'll also say, many here just need to chill and not take disagreements so dang personally. Folks need to lighten up. The drama is so unnecessary. I am glad to see MC doing better as her tour progresses. I was shocked watching videos of the opening night.

Shelly / Shezz (47,057) by Stacey from USA
Shelly, I have the "Out in Japan" concert. During my collecting days, I had two CDs, one produced in Japan and one from Australia. Both contain HQ recordings of all the songs. Shezz, I couldn't agree more. I've been saying "there's got to be a way" for fans to talk all things MC without all the drama. At 24 when I first started posting online, I got into it all the time with other fans. I took every disagreement so personally. I got so caught up in anger over fans who dared to talk about other artists on an MC fansite. Now at 37, I laugh at how silly and immature I acted. I could care less if folks want to posts lists of their favs or talk about Ariana Grande. It doesn't matter what people discuss. I learned that from simply growing up. I guess some fans still have some growing up to do. Who knows, lol. In the end, faceless words here are so trivial to the more important things I see everyday (i.e. my family and friends). It's why I always say "it ain't that deep" because it's not.

Abraham / Travon (47,050) by Stacey from USA
Abraham my friend, you know my last post to Travon? Well, it's about time we have that same conversation with you. You are welcome here. The drama is not. As MC would put it, "be nice or leave". My post referencing the "15 seconds of fame" was not rude. It was a fun/light-hearted reference to Meteorite. Lighten up. How long any of us have been fans apparently still does matter because some fans continue to think it's their place to question others loyalty to MC. When MC fans can discuss disagreements and not care who is the bigger fan, leaving their ego at the door, the need to defend one's support for MC will disappear. I am fully justified telling others to "back it up a bit" because I do my best to respect others. Over the years, my posts have always been free of personal insults/character attacks. Many people here know I conduct myself appropriately. So just chill and enjoy the discussion of all things Mariah. It ain't that deep, lol. Peace. Travon, my apologies for spelling your name wrong.

Trayvon (47,038) by Stacey from USA
Just curious: why are you referencing me? Go back and read my posts to you in the past few days. Oh wait, there are none. I've been a fan since 1993, posting online since 2002. I'm 37, married, and a mother of three. Shoot, I've been a fan as long as you've been alive, lol. I've seen too many people post here thinking they can say whatever, go after whomever they want simply because they sit comfortably behind a computer screen. Back it up a bit and don't be so aggressive. We are all fans. However, just because Edward sees an issue differently than you do doesn't make him sound like a "non-fan" as you put it. It drives me crazy when one fan calls into question another fan's dedication because of a disagreement. It's not your place. You want the same courtesy and respect from other fans? Then be sure to give them that same treatment. Know what I mean? We are all fans here chatting about all things MC. You are welcomed. The drama is not. I've said my peace. Moving on. Peace.

There will always be people who need their 15 seconds of fame no matter how foolish it makes them look. Thankfully you don't need such drama to make your life meaningful. Well done.

RJJ12 / The Roof (46,967) by Stacey from USA
Thanks for the compliments. My excuse for not posting a ton? Kids, lol. Anyway, that video you posted is my favorite version of The Roof. It's often on my playlist over the original. And the video? One of her best. I've often been quite critical of MC in recent years in regards to her videos. The video for The Roof tells a story. It's not simply MC running around in a bathing suit or nothing at all, ala You're Mine. That concept is old. Her videos during the Butterfly era were and still are some of her best.

Ariana vs Mariah / Luis / 25 most underrated songs (46,860) by Stacey from USA
Comparing Ariana to Mariah? Really people? Come back to reality folks and move on. Geesh. No, you're not the only one who has noticed MC is getting her appearance together. She's looks great. I hope she takes her time and gets this tour right. I hope it will put her in a good place musically like CB tour did for the next album TEOM. I was so happy to read that article. It was nice to see all her b-sides get some love. Those tracks are better than ones that appeared on her albums. DYTOM, EFA, and SA all have such a haunting feel to them. It was nice to see Circles get some love too. That run at minute 2:44 is one of her best. And Irresistible? What an infectious beat. One of her best. It reminds me just how vast and amazing her catalog is.

Mariah on tour / Thirsty / Cry (46,696) by Stacey from USA
I am glad MC is going on tour. Being with her fans always seems to do her good, especially now. Plus, she always writes the best songs during tours too (ala TEOM during the CB tour). I also think it helps MC maintain a positive image, allows her to control the conversation out and about in public. At some point she'll have to talk about the divorce, but not right now. A better time would be when everything has been finalized and all parties have moved on. I loved MIAM from first listen. After news of the separation broke, I started listening to the album more closely, paying particular attention to the lyrics. Oh my gosh people, I can't understand how this album is not about Nick. His name is all over it. Even before we knew what was going on with MC and Nick, my first thought upon hearing Thirsty was it was about Nick, especially after hearing Faded. "You're not here for me" from Faded flows right into "thirsting for celebrity". Just makes sense, to me anways. We all know music is MC's therapy to deal with tough situations. This album screams Mariah's time on the couch. Yet instead of talking to a psychiatrist, she sings. And we get to enjoy amazing songs. My latest jam is Cry. Wow. It's taken me months to really grasp the depth of the song, but it's a favorite now.

Mariah's silence (46,401) by Stacey from USA
I understand some frustrations with Mariah remaining quiet. You want her to tell her side of the story, set the record straight. I get it. However, emotions are too raw right now. New information is coming to light everyday. MC didn't talk about her divorce from Tommy until years later, partly because she couldn't. Still though, it was wise to let the situation play out and it allowed her to move on. She handled her breakdown the same way. She recorded a new album and allowed the promotional tour to all the talk shows as a way to talk about what happened after the media had moved on to other news. I think Mariah is wise to stay quiet. 1) If Nick shoots off his mouth, over time, it makes him look silly. 2) Right now the media is controlling the conversation. In time when the divorce is final, Mariah will talk and be able to control the narrative as she's done in the past. Plus, she's got kids to think about too. That changes everything.

Rediscovering MIAM (46,334) by Stacey from USA
I have to say I am falling more in love with MIAM now that news of marriage troubles has come to light. What a fantastic and sad album too. I can't help but feel so sad for Mariah after listening to Camoflauge. The song reminds me so much of Petals. She thought that finally she had found a happy marriage, kids, family life, etc. People can say Butterfly is her most vulnerable album. But, after all that's gone on in the past week, MIAM might just might bump Butterfly off that top spot, IMO. I've been letting every song play one after the other and you can see why the sequencing was so important. Brilliant talent.

I could not agree more with your last post. Mariah Carey is a brand that will never go away. Her legacy is set in stone. Numbers don't lie. It seems after a struggle, MC always comes back and knocks down the naysayers. MC's career/direction/focus has been off since marrying Nick Cannon. I was skeptical of the marriage, but gladly ate crow because she genuinely looked happy. With having kids, as a fellow parent (my son was born 2 weeks before M&M), I was glad she got the chance to experience being a mom. It's the great job on earth. But, some of the things he's said about their relationship I've stated here should have remained private. I've trying not to dig too hard on Nick, though. I hope he'll do the right thing and tell his parents to shut up and let Mariah move forward. The difference with this divorce then with Tommy is now there are kids involved. I hope Nick and Mariah can be friends. Ironic MC was also 3 when her parents divorced.

Nick and Mariah (46,196) by Stacey from USA
I hope the rumors aren't true. If they do divorce, I hope it is on friendly terms. There are children involved. When you become a parent, it isn't about just you anymore. Another thing: There are two sides to every relationship. There are those who are going to automatically jump on the Mariah bandwagon and accuse Nick of causing the divorce. MC is just as much to blame. I've been married for 13 years. I know what I'm talking about. To begin a marriage it takes two people. To cause its end also takes those same two people. Makes me think MIAM is all about her relationship with Nick, especially songs like Thirsty, Faded, and Camoflauge. Anyway, I hope the best for them.

Gosh, when I hear the song I can't help but sing "When it's for real, it's forever, so don't forget about us."

Thank you for your kind words. Your comments and take on things are always a breath of fresh air here. Camoflauge is a great song. The lyrics are so deep and tender. My only beef with the song (and it's a small one) is the overuse of background singing. I don't know. It seems a "less is more" approach would have been better (aka Looking In). Anyway, it is a great song. With this album I've taken one song and really listened to it for a few weeks before discovering another track.

Thank you / thoughts MIAM (46,099) by Stacey from USA
Thanks for the kind words Mimi L, Stephen, and Will. Edward is a class act too. Common sense and a cooler head always prevails in my book. Thanks for being such good examples of that to me too. When I first started posting on MC fansites as a young 24 year old, I took disagreements as personal attacks. I learned that is not the case. Such things cause unnecessary drama. Maybe it's because I'm 37, married almost 13 years, or have three kids (that cause enough drama all by themselves) that allows me to flick off the flies of drama when they buzz around me here. How's that for a metaphor? Haha. It's ok for those to say leave MC alone and let her do what she wants. Fair enough. But, not every fan is going to see it that way. There are those of us who are frustrated the album wasn't promoted properly. We feel the music deserves better treatment. Both opinions are valid and should be heard. If that bothers some of you, sobeit. The world would be boring if we all shared the same opinion. Relax and enjoy the discussion. It ain't that deep.

MIAM and promotion (46,080) by Stacey from USA
Simply stating you wish Mariah promoted MIAM is not whining. This album is that good and deserves to be heard. For whatever reason, MC has moved on. It's frustrating to many of us because when we listen to each track, there are so many potential hits that appeal to different markets (i.e. adult contemporary, R&B, hip-hop, etc.). I get wanting to get the album out to end a contract and move forward. What I don't get is her letting such hard work go to waste. This album is so personal to MC. She put a childhood drawing on the back cover. Listen to the songs like Camoflauge and Faded. You can tell she put her heart into this album. So why let people remember it as a flop? (And I'm not talking about Mariah fans.) Proper promotion (aka TEOM) would have helped sales. It bugs me this album isn't viewed among her great releases.

Your latest posts make me respect and like you tons more, my friend. Some folks will never learn an opinion is just that: an opinion. It's not fact. It's how you see a situation. *sigh* Anyway, my latest jam getting a lot of attention of MIAM is Money. What's your favorite song at the moment?

MIAM, sales / Money $@#! (45,973) by Stacey from USA
Sorry, but fans can only do so much in regards to sales. I bought my copy. People have a choice. To say every fan who didn't buy the album are cheap isn't fair. Trust me, I'm annoyed too. It's a great album and should be heard. But, there are other factors at play why the album didn't sell. You just can't blame the fans. They are only one part of the triangle, the others being IDJ and Ms. Mariah C. herself. I finally gave Money a listen. Fabulous track (pun intended). Haha.

Katy Perry / Meteorite (45,609) by Stacey from USA
I watched the video and it's clearly a diss. With the audience laughing right along with her. KP needs to be careful. While she is the flavor at the moment, she too will fade away. Not to say MC has faded away. But things do change. The music industry changes. However, MC is in a league of her own. Did you see the videos posted of MC attending the Herclules premiere? I loved how Dwayne Johnson left the reporter to hug MC as she passed by. Her happy reaction at seeing DJ was for real. Folks like KP are looking for any way to stay relevant, even if it means putting others down. I can't stand her for that very reason, lol. I've wasted enough time on her as it is. By the way, I am loving Meteorite. It's my jam at the moment.

Oh silly Katy Perry (45,547) by Stacey from USA
Katy Perry can say or do whatever she wants to MC these days. What she can't change are Mariah's accomplishments. Those are set in stone. Put aside all the chart topping hits spanning over 20 years, MC has sold over 200 million records worldwide. When silly Katy has hit that number, then she can talk #ish all she wants. Until then? Shut it, Ms. Katy.

Edward (45,322) / Aaron (45,343) by Stacey from USA
Amen to every word you said. Amen. I grow so tired of fans telling other fans what they can and cannot post. Seriously, if an opinion bugs you, ignore it. How hard is that? I love this album. It bugs me that she isn't doing more promotion for such a great album. For someone who is so detailed oriented, it surprises me MC isn't more upset over all the disorganization. Don't like my opinion? Tough. I'm not going to stop simply because some nameless face on a computer screen tells me too. *sigh* Rant over, lol. Aaron, that video was amazing. You really are talented.

Edward / YDKWTD (45,067) by Stacey from USA
Thank you. You thought I was playing this song a ton before with Wale, lol. Now, it's on all the time. Honestly, I would love a version with just MC on the intro and combine Wale's two raps into one verse in the middle of the song before Mariah's ending choruses. That would be my perfect version of that song.
