Yet she pays it absolute dust and only acknowledges ABMB. Just throw that whole record and era away and put in a year's vacation for her to rest her voice, with no world tour and especially that date you attended (hehe) and maybe Mariah would still have a little semblance of voice left. That Daydream era and world tour ruined her voice.

Good news (102,971) by Terna from Nigeria
This is exactly why she's gained the new title "Social Media Queen". Haha, she's about the only artist from her time who's songs keep resurging and trending unexpectedly as we've witnessed so many times. I would say "All I want for Christmas is You" has a big part in this trend for her since it tops the chart every year. And this is just one facet to the title, another is her "Isms", "sayings" and "drags" so to speak. Haha. That infamous "I don't know her" line did not help. Mariah is that It girl what more can be said? She stays winning.

MC's next era (102,956) by Terna from Nigeria
Gospel, original songs like she's done exceptionally well like with "Fly like a Bird", "My Saving Grace" and Even "Vision of Love". I want inspiration from her personal work with the Most High to be testified on record, the calling is there. But her voice needs to be in top shape for this. She's already done something with the Clark Sisters if I recall from the rumor mill. Mariah you can do it, we're rooting for you.

My All (102,937) by Terna from Nigeria
This song needs to be retired from her set list for good. Mariah has never sung this song anything like on the record, talk less of singing it better. It is also one of her harder songs to sing because it's built like a tradition ballad and keeps building and has a clear big climax, she is yet to do justice to 25 plus years later. I don't know why she still keeps on singing this particular song in every show, that makes her vocal decline so obvious.

Where are you Christmas (102,905) by Terna from Nigeria
Fun fact. In the days of the early Internet, there was Napster and then iMesh, Limewire etc. But there was this website known as "Audiogalaxy" that literally used to crawl the internet and find every and any song and you'll just tile them up and it will download the Mp3 files in queue. I found many unreleased material there including what I now think maybe was her version of this song Together with her vocal stems for "One Sweet Day" (we heard this awhile back) and "Endless love". I recorded them on tape and deleted the files. Ugh, Anyone have a time machine? Shortly after the site was taken down asap.

MB30 (102,904) by Terna from Nigeria
"Music Box" is one of her core albums to me, and the only album to capture the sheer vocal power she possessed back then but for quite a short time. The vocals on it match Whitney Houston in forte, her range seems endless, and her tone most fluid and buttery. This is also the era when she sang songs live better than on the record - case in point "Hero" from Proctor's Theater. One thing I do notice however is that her whistles are weak on this record and not really the focus of her vocals. This was also the first time we got to hear Mariah sing high falsetto on "Dreamlover".

Who is she kidding? (102,876) by Terna from Nigeria
I beg to differ, fluidity is back, well not completely but it's much better than a year ago, her tone is warm again like there's substance there not that dry nasal sound, that annoying scratch anytime she was trying to belt is gone, resonance in her upper belts have reappeared. I hear a recovering voice and she's not trying to overdo it - she knows her voice is in repair mode. (Do you think Mariah doesn't know her voice?) This was one of the biggest complaints Whitney Houston's voice coach had that he spoke about during the aftermath of her demise. He said Whitney's voice was so resilient and repaired very quickly but at the slightest semblance of function she would relax, do shows and then it was back to square one. I get that sense Mariah has read all our posts and finally got round to seeking professional help. It's evident in her sound from the Pride concert. She sounds like '98 again minus a few bumps here and there.

New music (102,853) by Terna from Nigeria
I'm looking forward to unreleased stuff from the beginning like recall that tracklisting from around 2015, songs that didn't make the final cut from the debut. Maybe she'll redo the album as Rarities 2 as most have pointed out here, but I kind of want a different title, so it can stand out and on its own, not just a sequel of. I also have a feeling Mariah has something up her sleeve like a whole studio album already done - high quality like "The Emancipation Of Mimi", "Butterfly" and "Daydream". Her speaking voice does sound better of late and that's a good thing.

Forbes richest women, no Mariah (102,852) by Terna from Nigeria
Now ask yourself this. "Which one of those other so called popular females has that Christmas flex?" After she's been the queen of music already. Exactly my point, none.

Forbes richest women, no Mariah (102,838) by Terna from Nigeria
You just speak with opinions and try to pass them off as facts. First things first, the era Mariah reigned supreme - the 90's - cannot be compared with this day we live in with the internet, streaming, YouTube and social media. Mariah had none of these and still had her foot on every other single artists necks, Both male and female. Her numbers speak volumes - this is someone as young as she was, went toe to toe with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, Toni Braxton, Michael Bolton, Sheryl Crowe, Alanis Morrisette, The Spice Girls, Mary J. Blige, Tevin Campbell, Aaliyah, Brandy, Prince, Monica, Madonna Boyz II Men etc all of whom it should be noted were also in their prime, And still came out on top winning multiple awards (Billboard artist of the decade and millennium artist to name a few) that reflect her impact and popularity. Mariah made over 1 billion US dollars for Sony - one artist alone, Until Beyoncé, Taylor, Rihanna and even Madonna can match these "tip of the iceberg" statistics I just mentioned, they are not anywhere near Mariah Carey in popularity. Social media is all smoke and mirrors and that "fame" is false and does not translate to anything tangible when it comes down to the real. You of all people should know this with numbers being fabricated today with follower count and all.

Forbes richest women, no Mariah (102,823) by Terna from Nigeria
Not one of those women experienced that juggernaut, fever pitch fame Mariah experienced in her peak, and this was before the internet and social media. Neither has Celine Dion had bigger hits. Matter of fact Celine was pretty much unknown until the late 90's with Titanic and Mariah had already had One Sweet Day, a feat she repeated again with "We Belong Together" in the 2000's. Juggernaut, massive (all caps), inescapable hits. Which both ended up being crowned Song of the Decade.

Rainbow was bigger than Daydream (102,807) by Terna from Nigeria
Please let's not be delusional here. Just no. Absolutely nothing about Rainbow can be rated close to Daydream, talk less of higher. Just nothing. That album has no form, is full of hideous fillers (the first for her at the time) her vocals have no form either, her voice is shot on the record, sounding hoarse and gravelly, like she was sick or something and the brash airiness of her voice (damage from the world tour the prior year) is so off-putting. That era was actually the beginning of her downfall and exhaustion, and had she slowed down, Glitter and the breakdown would not have happened.

My issue with Rainbow (102,752) by Terna from Nigeria
Excuse you? Speak for yourself Robert. The only thing he leads here is negativity and confusion, trying to bring Mariah down with every chance he gets. As well as being a broken record that plays only two songs. "What happened to her voice since 1997" and "Right to dream".

New low? (102,712) by Terna from Nigeria
Yes I noticed that too. She kinda "pulls" or "lifts" so to speak even when talking and ends up flat, or breaking. I'm not happy about this at all and I'm worried.

New low? (102,681) by Terna from Nigeria
Let's not be too hard on her, and still remember that she might be doing the best she can with what's left of her ability right now, which from the clips we saw is not much. Her voice issues are serious seeing as how many times she kept sipping tea and still it wasn't enough. At this point, her options are slim – it's voice therapy or the much dreaded surgery. Being in her shoes must be very scary as we all know what happened to Bonnie Tyler's voice and Julie Andrews more recently. I know it scares Mariah to think of surgery and putting her gift, career and future all on the line. What I want to see Mariah do is a lifestyle change and to seek professional help. Build your voice from the ground back up again with a voice therapist and a vocal coach, those exercises really do work. Find out what you've been doing wrong and correct that technique. You'll be surprised how much of her vocal problems are superficial.

The whistle or the complete voice? (102,676) by Terna from Nigeria
She should invest in a qualified vocal coach, an expensive one. I don't know where she got that "nodules aid her with that register" crap, having nodules is an Achilles heel to any and every type of singer and she's no exception, and also even a medical condition that requires immediate attention and resolve. Mariah had such a lush, full, clean voice that was well rounded from low to high, even her high notes had a certain heft and clarity to them, from 1990 to 1994 is where I would say her voice thrived and was at its best. The minute she lost those qualities by the "Daydream" era, there already was a problem. This is the time she should've stepped back and cancelled or postponed shows to rest a little.

Taylor Swift (102,641) by Terna from Nigeria
Not even close, and that was a time with no social media platforms, nor streaming views yet her popularity was a this global mammoth lasting frenzy, right from her debut album that even lasted well into the 2000's and with Mariah it wasn't just with the young generation at the time, it was every age demographic. She was and still is the real deal.

What is your initial fan story? (102,636) by Terna from Nigeria
It was multiple occurrences for me. And random pop ups of her music anytime I was on MTV, or on the radio trying to capture my favorite music videos and songs on VHS and cassette respectively. (Good old 90's.) Then I started to take note that she was the singer of so many songs I knew, loved, but didn't know who sang them - "Love Takes Time", "Vision of Love" (finally watched the video while going "oh, it has a video"?), "Anytime you need a friend" and "Hero". I was a die hard Céline fan and so when buying a new Céline CD, I also bought Mariah's new CD - "Butterfly".
