I think she definitely adds to the songs contrasting Ariana's breathy vocals, with her chesty vocals, she really is saying it with her chest. Also her whistle intro is so powerful and strong. But yes on first listen am I blown away? No unfortunately probably because I wasn't instantly taken by the original either haha but I think it'll take a few listens. Mariah's singing reminded me of her Morales remixes. I hope to see some great promo for this I know Ariana's team will do that but Mariah's team also needs to be proactive and not reactive. We should keep supporting because this could be the easiest way to get a top 10. Side not, is it just me or does Mariah's verse doesn't make much sense to my, like the lyrics? And the photo of Ariana and Mariah together looks like Mariah is deliberately angled so that one of her eyes and one of Ariana's are almost joined together haha. Side note, their makeup too is pretty synchronized with the bronzed skin, big lashes and it looks like they're wearing the exact same lipstick. Their hair too looks the exact same shade haha. I am seeing posts about how Mariah's team is super into pushing this song and Ariana's team on board. With their combined budget I do hope they give it their all. Most of her collaborations in recent times are with artists who are new or up and coming. This is with someone who is well established. I hope both their teams push it and give it a fair chance. She must have seen potential in order to do it. And like you said we forget Mariah has been doing dance remixes with Morales and others since the 90s. While I understand some Ariantors may have wanted others, I think a lot of them will support because Ariana is so inspired by Mariah and this is her dream come true. Conflicted (105,438) by Shezz from Pk Whereas Madonna or Gaga would've been better suited for the remix of this particular song, I believe we underestimate how versatile Mariah is and how she not only reinvented remixes but she has some amazing resung dance remixes. Also I agree Mimi L, I think they genuinely do like each other and a smart move on Mariah's part definitely. I'm not counting on this song being her 20th n1. I don't think the remix will take over the original and there won't be so much love from Arianators as with a new single. Also, apparently half of Ariana's fanbase isn't happy about Mariah being on the remix, they wanted someone else. Nonetheless I am still super excited to hear it tomorrow. She definitely will elevate it like she did Big Energy. I fear it might meet the same fate chartwise. Still, will be good to get some more spotlight on Mariah. So the credit will be 50-50, also I saw this morning that people are saying the remix will be an old fashioned remix which is completely reworked and that Mariah will have writing and producing credits and a verse of her own. Last but not the least guys this might be one of our last chances to get that #1 or at least get a successful song that leads to great promo for her next album, let's support our girl. The Arianators are gearing up so we should do the same. We've been asking Mariah to step out of her comfort zone and to give us something upbeat, and she's finally doing it. Now about Mariah and Ariana not liking each other, my opinion is it's not true. Ariana clearly idolizes Mariah and this isn't new. Even in her documentary she gets emotional when Mariah's team contacts her to be on her video. And as for Mariah, I feel like she doesn't really bother to mingle with people she doesn't care for. In the beginning she probably wasn't pleased because of the blatant "next Mariah" label that was pushed for Ariana's launch. But over the years I think that changed. Lastly in my opinion at this point everything is fair game, the music industry is no longer the same, you gotta play the game so if Mariah is using her connections to gain newer audience, then why not? In fact it's smart right before the next album. It's smart business move. Also I don't know how true this is but I saw somewhere that it's actually the opposite and because Ariana got a lot of recent backlash for getting with Ethan Slater she lost goodwill and her single didn't do well (despite being #1) so they're bringing on Mariah to boost Ariana too. Mariah still has a lot of pull whenever Ariana and Mariah are mentioned together it does lead to a lot of publicity so I think it is benefitting them both. Why else would Ariana push this so hard with the physical CDs, the coordinated profile picture change, a rumored live performance? I actually don't think Mariah and Ariana like each other that much, and I feel Mariah only does this to get noticed more by a younger crowd, and mayby hope that it would be a hit like Big Energy (Remix). The note Ariana wrote to accompany the announcement, so sweet and heartfelt. I didn't notice at first but both Mariah and Ariana updated their profile pictures to just their eyes, which is interesting and also there will be physical copies of this remix. This sounds like a lot of planning went into it which is exiting. Ariana has bubbles, hearts and butterflies in the caption, now Butterfly is for MC but anyone knows what the bubbles and heart means? The new picture of the 2 of them is stunning and although Ariana's recent behavior is questionable lol it must be fabulous to have your idol be on your song. The interesting thing is yes and is quite literally Madonna's style I'm surprised Ariana went with Mariah and that Mariah hopped on it. I wonder if this will be one of those re-recorded remixes with a different vibe. But she literally has been doing the opposite hahah, randomly we got to know about SUD and that she's remaking it, then we've been hearing about TBL for so long and she said so many times it's ready she's just waiting for a home for it (but why even announce if you don't have a partner for it), then dropping hints about wanting to do a Jazz album, now saying she's mid way through a new album. Mariah mentioned on one of her Twitter Spaces that she doesn't want to go into her back catalogue of dance music out of fear that people will say she's jumping on the bandwagon. Which is crazy because she's done it first. Once Beyonce hits with Jazz, Mariah will feel pressured to not do it. I've even heard that act III might be Rock n Roll, which would be cool but then we can also kiss Someone's Ugly Daughter goodbye. It's almost like Mariah takes too long and then others steal her ideas. But it's not really theft it's more that the others are working faster and harder.
