About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

MC x AG (105,370) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so I'm hearing this rumor is almost confirmed. I'm honestly really surprised that Mariah jumped on this song haha. It was the last song I'd expect to hear her on. So I guess this year is trying new things. I can respect that because we've been wanting her to be out of her comfort zone but my opinion still stands on how this wouldn't do much for Mariah, it'll only help Ariana. But I'm here for any new MC content and loving her new experimental era.

Ya the style is very unlike MC (although she might be trying a new sound) but like you said I would want an original song from MC one that has her featured from the start not on a remix because we all saw what happened with Big Energy. Mariah's inclusion obviously catapulted the song but she got no credit. Latto of course gave credit many times but we need official credits hahah.

Huge congrats to MC for being a nominee and I have a feeling she got this in the bag. This means so much to her and I'm so happy that she's finally in the running.

There's rumors going on that Ariana is releasing a remix of "yes, and?" with Mariah next week. I will believe it when I see it but Ariana did tease that even though she won't release anymore singles until the album is out she has a surprise planned. Honestly I don't know what Mariah can really benefit from being on "yes, and?". The song already hit #1 and Mariah being on the remix probably won't add much to her credit. I guess we'll know next week if this is indeed true. I'm here for any new Mariah content haha but honestly I'm ready for her own releases and wish of MC did collab with Ariana it's on a song that has her on the original version.

Nick back at it again (105,354) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ahah this is actually an older response and I found it hilarious. This was when I think last year he talked about never saying never to a reconciliation with Mariah.

Article: Miley Cyrus fangirls over fellow M.C. Mariah Carey (105,353) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
2017 was a good 7 years earlier and Miley was a lot younger. She might have since then realized she misspoke and that Mariah is a songwriter and storyteller first and then everything else. I can understand that from personal experience. I didn't know Mariah's work well, infact I was a Westlife fan and one day I hear the Against All Odds collaboration (this was years later after its release, I was a going through my pre teen boy band phase) I was like who is this singer she has a beautiful voice, cut to the MTV Cribs episodes and I was annoyed how many times Mariah was changing and being over the top (I hadn't yet realized her sense of humor). I finally became a lamb during TEOM and then worked my way backwards on her previous releases including replaying the Cribs episode because it was iconic. Once I realized how much Mariah is involved in her music and how she's a songwriter and producer and how she lives and breathes music I was blown away. I was obsessed with finding her re-recorded remixes, checking out her lyrics and all that jazz. It took me more time to realize all the insane layers to her artistry. What matters to be is on stage and in front everyone Miley gave Mariah the utmost respect and the butterfly anecdote to me means she really understood the depth to Mariah's work. Also I can see where her previous comment came from. Even Mariah said she isn't taken seriously as a songwriter. And we all know casual listeners know of her personality before they know about her art. Plus her "shades" go viral everytime. Basically her personality eclipses her art until you actually take the time to see what otherworldly talent she possesses.

E=MC2 (105,347) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ah yes Cruise Control was way ahead of its time. The whole laid back island vibes. Rihanna later had many hits with the same vibe.

Oh no I love those songs. I think there were other possible hits too like Side Effects, IBLYLT (if promoted properly), ITC. Love Story too if she did the stripped down version that she did for was it VH1 or MTV.

Vogue Legendary cover (105,335) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Vogue released their "Legendary" cover and while there are some real legends on there more than 70% are just random? Y'all have a living legend Miss Carey and yet you get these random people.

Triumphant (105,334) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm once again back to express my love for Triumphant. Everytime I listen to it I'm like what a wasted song, should have done better on the charts. The song is so uplifting, catchy, each artist's verses add to the message of the song. I know people didn't like it because Mariah was almost a feature on her own song which was a lead (later termed buzz) single, but overall until this date the song aged well and still gives me goosebumps.

Nick back at it again (105,329) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh Nick is again talking about a reconciliation not being off the table. Bye Nick, you've had your time, get over it. However the interviewer who was talking to Nick said he'll be talking to Mariah in a few weeks (for an interview), so does that mean we're getting promo? Is it for the show or something else? Interesting.

Rainbow25 and other new songs (105,326) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Do you all know about this account called "Carey Insider", anyone knows how reliable they are? They have an ongoing feud with the other insider account, apparent the other account steals info from Carey Insider. Anyways so Carey Insider posted that Mariah is going to release an extended Heartbreak Remix Version, which if true yay because I love Heartbreaker and its remixes but it is also random haha they have the hashtag Rainbow25 with it so I don't know if it's for an anniversary edition? In addition to this they post a lot of songs Mariah registered like "Better Together", cover of "Who's loving you", "Tiiime" and "It's Time", "Hello" and a lot more. I know these should be public records but I don't know how to verify haha. Also says fans of re-recorded remixes are in for a treat. At this point there's so many different projects Mariah has been rumored to be doing haha I'm like how is it even possible.

Billboard Woman of the Year (105,320) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think it's going to be Beyoncé. Eventhough Taylor had the T-Swizzle nickname it was never a "popular" nick name. They just had it for the one collaboration. Queen Bee on the other hand is a well known nickname. Although honestly I don't really get the hype. Or maybe it could be Rihanna. I wish it was Mariah and this year would be the year of Mimi haha.

Billboard Woman of the Year (105,317) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Did you all see they will be revealing the Billboard Woman of the Year award and gave 3 hints?
• She has made Billboard charts history.
• She has sold out stadiums on tour.
• She has a popular nickname.
Before I even saw the hints I was like oh well it's gonna be Taylor again, plus she has been selling out stadiums. But as far as I know she doesn't really have a popular nickname. The first and third applies to Mariah. Did she have sold out stadium tours? Other than Mariah it could maybe be Beyoncé.

Yes, And? (105,316) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think the only reason this even went to #1 is because her fans were starving for her music and had almost given up hope that she would release anything anytime soon, and because she basically used a controversial topic to boost publicity and get people to listen to it to see what tea she spilt. The controversy being her relationship with SpongeBob and breaking up his family, and using lyrics like why do people care about whose d-word she rides.

Super Bowl (105,314) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
While he can do new features, it is unlikely. Super Bowl is a huge moment, he would want to shine the spotlight on himself and his catalogue for the nostalgia plus new album. It's a tight 12 minute schedule too and he has many hits which he'd want to perform so wouldn't have much time to go out of his way to include Mariah.

Super Bowl (105,310) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That's my line of thinking, if he does bring her out what song would they even perform? No casual listener knows "How Much". So it doesn't make sense for her to be there. I wish she was on Love In This Club Remix where she was supposed to be the original feature. But yes I don't see MC coming on the Super Bowl with Usher. Justin Bieber might be there though.

Side discussion, a while back the "insider" account mentioned Mariah is in talks for a Vegas residency but not with Caesar's. I wonder if they meant this gig or if she'll have a bigger stay.

I'm not too worried about there being no music because of this. She announced many "Butterfly Returns" dates and still released Caution same year. I definitely think we'll at least get a buzz single before the shows.
