About Mara from United States: I'm a Mariah fan since the debut. Been through her entire career with her and may not always agree with every single thing she does, But i will always come to her defense when she gets attacked for being misunderstood. I am not a blind fan and relate Mariah to a sister who I would tell in a minute if something seems wrong or something of that nature. I come to this board to discuss her with people who I feel are true fans and yes, some don't always praise her to the heavens every single moment but we all are here for the same reason and we do adore her.

James Cannon (46,326) by Mara from United States
How insensitive can you be? I saw the posts on FB before he took them down. He said some terrible things. Even if they were from his so called book, why choose the day your son confirms he is living apart from his famous wife to post them? I certainly hope Nick did not use his father to get some of his reasons out there since he may have a possible gag. They seem very shady, sorry. To quote Thirsty "the best thing that happened to your a** was me" seems ever so true. Mariah always called Nick the "abandoner" and if the rumors are true and he is using mental health now, why abandon your wife? What happened to better or worse, sickness and in health? If that's the case? Why do everything in your power to take on so many jobs, rather than be there for your wife? Especially of you are concerned for your kids. That does not sit well with me. Sounds like he is trying to be portrayed as the victim that could not take it anymore. Nick Cannon reminds me of a guy in high school that you regret fooling around with and then talks about you. He needs to grow the f*** up.

Mariah and Nick (46,250) by Mara from United States
So a certain gossip site is having a field day with this news. It seems like they all forget there is a real family behind it all and that real people are hurting. Some of the comments are beyond awful and it just makes me think how much can one person take. I hope Mariah doesn't even look at them. I did notice since these rumors started blowing up in the last few days, Nick has been more active on twitter again. He did that challenge on the day news broke about his marriage. Don't want to read too much into it. Just hope Mariah is OK. I think the kids are her main focus now and yes she was 3 years old when her parents got divorced but circumstances were differnt then and Roc and Roe will have more stability than what Mariah probably experienced. They are all in my prayers.

Sad day (46,213) by Mara from United States
I am so saddened by this news. But I have to admit when I heard Thirsty I immediatly thought "Nick". All of MIAM was about her marriage and her emotions she was going through. Someone said we all feel like we know Mariah and I tend to get very protective of her. Mariah has been through a bad breakup before and it hurt her very bad. Now she has them beautiful babies and I think they will help her tremendously. You have to be strong for them and Mariah seems like she is a wonderful mother. She is a strong independent woman who will make it through this. Divorce is a form of a "loss" and I am so sad for her. I saw it through the Matt Lauer interview. She had a sadness about her. That is why the no album promotion. She released something probably painful to her and knowing what she was going through who can expect interviews and performances. Now she will be out of the country with her babies and focus on the tour. She will come back and be better than ever. MC we love you and are here for you. You have come to far from where you started from, you will get through this.

Alex (46,172) by Mara from United States
What you wrote is exactly what I was thinking. It is amazing how people have a living legend still making music and who has the history MC has and she is not appreciated. God forbid if something happened to our Mariah, all the people would find it "cool" again and sing her praises, including the "other people on the charts" currently that seem to throw insults her way. Appreciate her now. And yes, Mariah will continue being Mariah and doing what only she can do. I for one still love her.

Vines (44,684) by Mara from United States
Has anyone else seen the recent vines and pics Mariah has been posting lately? I am really starting to worry about her and feel like something else is going on right now. Not talking about the subway and taxi ones in the blue ball gown, but she just posted another one last night in a black ball gown posing at night in the streets of NYC. She was singing to a friend and pulling her and she even looked a little uncomfortable with how MC was acting. Did anyone see these? I just don't get a good vibe from any of this.

Carlos (44,473) by Mara from United States
Carlos you verbalized my thoughts exactly. I could not have said it better myself. When you use something for over 20 years, it gets wear and tear. Period. Everything on Mariah's album is her. That is all I really care about. I wish people would stop over analyzing this subject too.

Album thoughts (44,249) by Mara from United States
I have been listening to MIAM since it was available for first listen and downloaded both versions off iTunes. I have to say I think it is one of her best albums. I think this album is a vocal album. Sure her voice is a little weaker, but she has been using this voice for 25 years, of course it is not going to sound like when she was 19 years old on VOL or the Daydream album. But taking that into account, she still has the best voice out there. The way she layers her vocals, adds the whistle register and still hits those high notes, there is nobody out there that has that sound. I love reading all these posts and different opinions, and all the new faces on here. We are all here for one reason, our love for MC. I have to disagree when it was said there are no songs like Outside or Petals. Camouflage is right up there IMO of course. I think she poured her heart and soul into that song down to all the different layers and vocals. She put time into that song and boy does it show. The song is just beautiful and everytime I listen to it I get something new. It is so raw. It reminds me a bit of Butterfly. The ending is done beautifully. How many artists put that much time into one song with all the different vocals upon vocals? I think if all of us like at least 2 songs, she did her job. MC has such a mixed group of fans, as we all know everyone wants something different and she aimed to please all of us with this record. I don't care if it does not shoot to the top of the charts if it is an album that is a solid piece of work. And that it is. I really think her hard work, time and effort paid off and it really shows. And I gotta say my love for Meteorite grows everytime I play it too. Some think it's too Madonna or GaGa, but it's so different for Mariah and that's what I love about it. It's got this futuristic sound and it works. All in all I think it's a great album, whether it was a contract obligation or whatever. I can get by with new Mariah material and that makes me happy.

The journey part II (43,986) by Mara from United States
I have to test some Lambs here, but wasn't this Fabolous song recorded very late and added last minute. I think there were some people that thought it had to be for his album since it was added so late. If my memory is right, it was right around the time VH1 aired the Fabulous Life of Mariah and Nick, and the song is titled Money. I could be overthinking here. Mariah is known for writing about what is going on in her life at the moment. Some of her best work has come out of that. After Money is One More Try. Maybe she is giving the marriage One More Try? She is an incredibly private person and keeps us fans guessing, but these songs are placed strategically by her. It truly tells a story and I listen to this album on a complete different level right now. But on a positive note, the album ends with Heavenly where she is singing how she has come to far to give up now. So I think since it was recorded early she added these songs to change the ending to the journey. I hope Nick does get the message.

The journey / Maurice (43,985) by Mara from United States
You hit the nail on the head Maurice. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and as a day one lamb feel like Mariah is more like my sister and because of that I think the entire album is about her marriage with Nick. Even YDKWTD she has a line where you can't even help yourself from playing the fool each time. Something she has complained about Nick doing with his mouth quite a bit. As Mariah has said, this album is a journey and should be heard as a complete body of work. I feel that deep real emotion like I did with Butterfly in this album. She is wearing her heart on her sleeve in MIAM. Even as far as the album title. Some lambs felt Nick was in love with "Mariah Carey" his dream girl. The entertainer Mariah Carey. There is even a line in Camouflage where she says she prays someone loves her for her "please father" you can hear it and I feel it really strongly. I may be wrong but she clearly said this album is where she left off in her story. Said it was for the Lambily and she knows we know her well. Then right after Camouflage she goes right into Money and before money starts off she says "I can't leave it like that".

Stephen and Edward (43,963) by Mara from United States
I have to agree on One More Try. I have been one that has been so excited when I saw the track listing with OMT on it. I am a huge GM fan and put him in the same category as MC in male form. I think what we all were envisioning was a soulful rendition. I think if the song was more stripped it would have sounded better. There is too much going on and for some reason her voice is really high in it. A deeper more soulful rendition is what I was wishing for. It's not bad and the album is still in her top 4 to me, but she almost sounds pretty while singing instead of the "pleading sound" GM portrays. I just wanted to feel more out of it. And I didn't think it needed that many vocals. I hope I don't get the hate from other lambs. I still love the album and don't think it takes anything away. Just was underwhelmed with it. Wouldn't it be nice if she performed it live maybe even bringing GM out and letting loose. One can dream. Sorry if it seems negative, I don't mean to. It's just that these are my two all time favorite artists and my dream to hear MC cover GM, and if non lambs can critique why can't real lambs?

Worth the wait (43,924) by Mara from United States
All I can say is "Thank you Mariah" for Cry, for Faded, Meteorite, and for Camouflage and so many more. But those are amazing songs. Camouflage is a signature song only Mariah can deliver. Amazing. I get chills listening to that song. Meteorite is unlike anything she has ever done and I am loving the sound of it. I am so proud of her right now. Faded has a sadness to it and I agree with Marquise that it's about Nick. Listen to the lyrics. I love how you can hear her love and adoration for her children in Supernatural, especially when she says "yes you are dahhhhling" that is a side as a longtime lamb I was not sure we would see. I love the album and hope it gets to number one and she deserves Grammys for this one. Those Katy Perry's and Rhianna cannot hold a candle to Miss Mariah Carey and she is reminding them all with this album. Steller.

Today show (43,686) by Mara from United States
I think she did great. Whatever people may say, TMB was all live. No lipping there. Most of ABMB was live, not sure about YDKWTD, but there is no doubt that song has hit potential. It is catchy and you can't get it out of your head after first listen. Has that rnb sound too like TEOM. Brian Michael Cox worked with her on that so he brought that same vibe. I thought the interview was great too. She had her diva moments but stayed on track with the album and how it was for "us". I really think she tried to please her fans on this one and give her diverse fan base what they wanted. I can't wait to hear the rest. I just wish it was closer to the release. A nice early surprise digital release would be a dream right now. On a side note would, I love to see M go a little darker again. Sorry MC I know you love your blonde.

Thirsty (43,636) by Mara from United States
Yeah, I saw Damizza's comments on twitter and he seems to be enjoying the attention and seems to think it's a song about him too. I just don't get that feeling that it's about Damizza.

Sounds of Summer (43,544) by Mara from United States
Sorry but this song is hot. I can imagine hearing this walking the boardwalk or driving with the windows down. I am no teenager and I think it appeals to me and the younger people that are buying the music today. Some people are just never satisfied. Everyone was saying she needs to release Thirsty and how excited for a club song they were, how we didn't need another slow one, well, what did you think a song with the title Thirsty would sound like? It's a new term the younger kids are using and Mariah is a business woman. She knows what she is doing. I think she can never seem to please everyone. The song is a grower, listen to it a few times before you come on here and bash it or make a final opinion. Imagine hearing it on the radio a lot. Minds will change. Mariah clearly got some things off her chest with the lyrics of this song. How anyone can question who this song is about is beyond me. I love it.

Edward (43,405) by Mara from United States
You could be 100% right about that. She just wants her obligation done with IDJ. It really does seem that way with the way everything has gone including the promotion and interviews. I really doubt there will be a new single before the Today show. It just doesn't look like that is going to happen. Anyhow, hope there is a digital release sooner than 5/27. Dying to hear One More Try.

Mariah / Nick (43,299) by Mara from United States
It's strange that Nick has not tweeted or put anything on his Facebook page in support of Mariah's new album. I know she didn't for his White people party music album, but come on. His wife is Mariah Carey and this is her first album since his children were born. Why isn't he proud or promoting it? We don't know what is going on behind the scenes. I hope Mariah is alright and she always has us lambs to fully be there and support her.

One More Try (43,160) by Mara from United States
I am dying. My two absolute favorite male and female singers. What if George is on that song too? That would be amazing to hear him sing with her. That song is so soulful and does have that "Can't Let Go" sound in the beginning a little. I can only imagine how she would sound. I always thought of George as the male Mariah in terms of vocalists. I preordered my copy and she was currently at #4. Mariah WTG. Love the cover with the orange clouds in the back. Simply beautiful.

Bradley (43,039) by Mara from United States
As a day one lamb since VOL, those songs in your posts are some of her all time best. I would have to add Til The End Of Time and Do You Think Of Me to those as well. There are so many, There For Me is another unofficial single that I loved too along with the amazing Fly Like A Bird that really hit home with me.

Billboard cover, May issue (42,872) by Mara from United States
Ok, so we know why MC has been silent. She is on the cover of Billboard looking stunning may I add. It is stating an all digital release for the new album. So no hard copy at all? The simplicity of the Billboard cover is beautiful. This stuff is starting now.

Gilbert (42,833) by Mara from United States
Funny, I was just sending through the same type of message and saw your response to David right after I sent it through. I 100% believe there is a lot of evil and darkness in this industry. Mariah herself alluded to that during a Larry King interview once as did Chaka Khan during the tragic loss of Whitney. It is a business and a powerful one at that. Look at Lady GaGa. How dark her videos were, her dark strange MTV performances and all her awards, then she broke her hip or something and her latest album was not what her last ones were and she said the record co did not back her at all and were heartless. If you notice all the MTV video awards shows pay homage to the same artists. Mariah was never really included in that bunch. Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj, Lady Gaga, they all seemed to rule those award shows. MC never needed that though. I love how she started true to herself. I hope she never feels the need to go down that path. I don't know how many people agree with me but I do believe the music industry is a tough one to be in. I remember Michael Jackson saying it was evil too. I believe he called Tommy Mottola the devil.

Current artists and industry, davidf (42,831) by Mara from United States
Davidf, you made some good points. I am just glad MC never jumped on that boat. She made her success in a respectful way. Yeah she likes to dress sexy but never in a raunchy way if you know what I mean. Some of the artists out there today, especially most of the ones topping the charts (and the ones our kids are being influenced by) have such a darkness about them, very sexual and the lyrics are just evil. I don't know why the artists today feel the need for such dark evil looking videos either. So you see MC with a glass of champagne, ok but most stories or pics about her are with her family. Even before the kids, she got where she is with songs like Hero, songs that are respectable. She has nothing to be ashamed of when her kids look and listen to her catalog and career. I can honestly say I am proud of that, being a Mariah Carey fan for 24 years. As far as the album, as I said before. I really feel like she is nervous. The pressure she must feel I can't even imagine for this album. The world is watching and waiting for a hit or fail. Every press article states how it's been 4 years. She knows her last 4 singles were not the chart toppers she wanted. I will just be happy with new material on a complete album from start to finish that I can listen to. When she is ready, we will hear it.

Nervous, perhaps (42,771) by Mara from United States
I am beginning to think keeping mum on the whole album could be better promotion than you would think. It is keeping people talking, twitter is on fire with questions about Mariah's new album, questions about a possible push back again, questions to JD, Kristopher Buckle etc. Mariah being so quiet especially. I really hope we're in store for something big. Think about it, no promotion, people talking up until bam it gets released. I don't know, just a thought. On the other hand, if Mariah is totally switching it up and saw that the sound she was going for didn't go over well and has to rework things, then give her the time. We know she is a perfectionist and does not have the same life as when she could spend hours for days in the studio. She has babies now, they are her main priority. I for one would never want to be one of the people that contributed to her having a breakdown due to stressing over this album. When she is ready, we will hear it.

I just wanted to let the other lambs know I did not say anything derogatory about MC or use profanity in any way. I understand the webmaster can do what he wants, it's his site. I just felt it was important to point that out since this is the second time my post has been censored. I don't want people to think I used profanity. I simply was making an observation and again respect the webmaster and he can censor whatever he wishes.
