About Lee from USA: I love mimi

Article: Mariah responds to bodyguard's injury claim (77,585) by Lee from USA
Gee, she doesn't look fat in this picture.

Article: Mariah Carey performs in final Las Vegas residency show (77,302) by Lee from USA
I like her with meat on her bones. Over half of the "it" girls look like they haven't eaten in years. If Ashley Graham could make it a model, then we should not care about our girl.

Article: Will Ferrell hints at Mariah's diva antics on set (76,515) by Lee from USA
People are getting worked up over a cameo? Really. The movie gonna flop anyways. If Will has done his homework, he would know that a lot of the movies that she was in ended up as blockbusters.

Piers and Wendy need to shut up (69,024) by Lee from USA
I mean, Wendy calls Mariah crazy and desperate. Well. that's funny coming from a talk-show host that copped her style and practically begged Mimi to be on her [...] show for the last 7-8 years. Wendy should look in a mirror more often, but they would probably shatter. As for Piers, where's the hell was he when other celebrities were doing worse and wearing less? His [censored] won't go after Lady Gaga when she put out that nude workout video because the little monsters would crush him where he stood. Hell, he was a no-show when Trump ran for president (and won), when Miley Cyrus went bad, and when Rihanna, Katy Perry, and others are running wild with their asses hanging out. People with meltdowns can't do half the [censored] that she's doing now. She is doing a docu-series and a bunch of concerts. For the people who have been ripping into her [...].

Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,057) by Lee from USA
Well, you just proved my point. Mimi, you act as if Mariah is killing her career by speaking out about a show that screwed over tons of people. If you don't believe me, then ask most of the winners. AI made its own bed, and yet you are miffed about Mimi saying anything about it. I do not need to write a whole novel on my views. I am calling like I have seen it for years and years.

Article: "American Idol" contestants react to Mariah Carey (65,043) by Lee from USA
She was right on. They threw money in her face, and stuck her with an ill-temper hoochie. The show was cancelled three years after she left. Unlike some folks on this message board, I don't agree with every hater in the media. If these people thought that Idol was so great, then they should be making money, not trolling our girl.

Wow (63,923) by Lee from USA
If that how some of you all feel, then Mariah should retire instead of trying to please some [censored] fans. Do you think she really cares what you [censored] think? It is hard to agree with you all when you all listen to a guy who worships a rapper who pop pills and mistreats women. Like Sheila said, if you wanted a Barbie doll, then go buy one. M, if you wanted to leave her fan-base, there's the door. Seriously, where did you get your facts from? Where were most of you all up until the nightclub appearance? If I had 16.2 million Twitter followers, I would not care about a dozen "fans". Honestly, do you all have anything else to do besides complain about an artist who has "lost it"?

Re: Um what? (63,836) by Lee from USA
As a straight fan, I loved it. I mean, why the hell has she to be a nun when female artists older and younger than her are showing more skin in magazines and on stage? Hell, she still is a prude compared to those chicks on AGT and the Kardashians. All of these other female celebrities that are getting TV shows and movies due to being naked, and you complain about Mimi in lingerie? Call me when she does something illegal.

All this jazz about the "public" (63,510) by Lee from USA
Oh please. If the "general public" really liked JLo over Mimi, then why does anything associated with JLo is almost always flopping? Nearly every movie that she starred in has flopped, even those with A-list co-stars. The only times that she's had a hit single is either with Pitbull (who should ditch her now), or by ripping off other artists. Every TV show of hers either had been canned or on the verge of being canned. That's why we should not lose sleep over a bunch of hypocrites. As far as Demi goes, it wasn't wise to pick fights with legends and their fanbases, especially when her fanbase is way smaller.

I agree with Manny about the charts. But I have one problem: how it is that other artists do much worse than Mariah and gets praised, yet [censored] complain about Mimi's diva antics?

I agree, Mara (57,161) by Lee from USA
She should get in on the first ballot. I mean, how many artists could say they have more number 1 hits than Elvis? How many artists could boast about topping the singles charts for 10 years straight and winning Song of the Decade twice? Her antics aren't half as bad as making porn, sleeping with kids, and abusing drugs (and significant others). Artists who've done worst had gotten in without any protest.

Bet Awards (54,983) by Lee from USA
I understand that we as black folks need our own awards shows. My gripe is that Mariah is not really that embraced by BET or any other black media outlets. How come that Whitney won a BET Honor and a Lifetime Achievement Awards, but Mimi just got a Bet Honor? How's that fair? They treat her like a mistress: loved in private, but ignored in public. It took Mariah 15 years to grace the cover of Essence whereas Mary J Blige was on the cover at least twice a year. The black media doesn't stick up for Mimi when she is in trouble as much as they do for MJ, Janet or Whitney. Two radio show hosts got suspended for poking fun at Whitney, but when it comes to Mimi being ridiculed, there's is no outrage, suspensions or terminations. Where's Al Sharpton? The NAACP? Jesse Jackson?

Lucia (54,971) by Lee from USA
She won the best smile award. Mariah has done more in the last 7 years than Janet and Whitney. She resurrected her acting career and built her (and Nick's) empire up. If that is not much, then I don't know what is. The woman put two platinum-selling singles without help from a label. You said that BET would not associate with her when things are going tough, but they had no problem giving Whitney hardware while she was abusing drugs.

BET Awards (54,963) by Lee from USA
Guys, isn't it odd that Janet is getting an Ultimate Icon Award at the BET Awards, whereas our girl hasn't gotten anything at the Bet Awards? Janet haven't put a hit in nearly 15 years whereas Mimi put out more top 20 hits than her, Madge, Whitney, and Celine combined in the last 15 years. Hell, Mimi is the only black artist in history that ever scored more #1s than Elvis. The only time Janet has been relevant in this millennium is when her boob was exposed at the Super Bowl. This proves if Mimi's skin was darker, she would probably dominate the BET awards.

Licia (54,050) by Lee from USA
I know you and me (as black folks) won't be protesting if B get slammed. But when was the last time somebody had the courage to bash her on camera? Never. That's all about the backlash. If MCA was found by the Beyhive, do you think they would take kindly to some of us calling her overrated? I doubt it.

I agree with Trox and Mimi for different reasons (54,011) by Lee from USA
Beyoncé is overrated. But it is easy to be loved with Jay-Z as your husband and Al Sharpton and the NAACP in your back pocket. Everybody is scared to death of Jay-Z due to the fact he stabbed a dude and gotten off. Nobody wants to have Al Sharpton and a group of black folks picketing outside your business. Remember how TMZ called to Beyoncé as a "robo-ho"? Al almost blew a gasket, and yet he is never around when Mimi gets bashed.

I am not worried (53,594) by Lee from USA
If most of the major media outlets said that she did good enough, why should we care what some little radio show thinks? The moon never answers the dog when he howls at it.

Hall of Fame / Cindi (51,563) by Lee from USA
I do believe that if the Rock and Roll omits Mimi, it would prove that the committee is a bunch of hypocrites. How could they stand for excellence in music and yet induct artists who hasn't had hit songs in over 30 years? They may bring up her diva antics but her "antics" are nothing compared to marrying your 13 year old cousin, sleeping with your employees, making porn, and abusing drugs. And yet artists that done those things (and worse) got inducted anyway. How is Cindi considered a power publicist if she rarely has any other clients other than Mimi?

Tidal (51,261) by Lee from USA
I am glad that Mimi doesn't ride Jay-Z's coattails to succeed. I mean, I remember when he was a nobody in the 1990s that probably begged to be on "Heartbreaker". Besides, he hasn't done much for her lately. Where was he and his wife when the media were (and still is) tearing her down? Why the f*ck should she waste her time making him look better at the expense of her own? Mimi has shined without Jay-Z for most of her career, and she shouldn't need his ass now.

Enough (49,560) by Lee from USA
This is absurd. Calling her out for these "cash grab" performances is plain stupid. Michael Jackson charged people in Japan thousands of dollars to just to see him. Yet his legacy is not destroyed. The fashion critics always make me laugh. These idiots are the first to pay $300-700 to see Madonna whip out a breast and dry hump her dancers, yet be the first to complain about Mimi showing the "puppies". If Mimi covers up, then Heidi Klum, Marilyn Milian, and Kimora Lee Simmons should not sunbathe topless anymore. How is it that there isn't anyone on this site from Jamaica nor have went to Jamaica critiquing this performance?

My computer broke down, and I haven't had the chance to post. It must be torture for Wendell Williams to see our girl on Ellen.

The media's at it again (47,911) by Lee from USA
I mean, why would Mimi waste her time talking about Kim K's butt and frontal pics? When they met each other, they seemed to hit it off. I guess that since people can't talk about her voice fading, then they have to fabricate a beef or quote involving Mimi.

Hollywood Take needs do more research on Mimi's net worth. She is worth over $500 million.

Nathan (47,340) by Lee from USA
So she should go to award shows that snubbed her for 20+ years to save her reputation? Many people did not like her when she was full throttle in promotion or when she sounded great anyways. Why the hell she should kiss their asses when their opinions wouldn't change either way? You pointed out the reasons why her voice deteriorated. If she used her vocals in an unusual way to get hit songs, then she did it for her fans, not for the critics. As far as her singing, I know Mimi will do the best thing for herself, not for anyone else.
(Friday 10 October 2014; 19:10)
I agree with a lot of you (47,334) by Lee from USA
You shouldn't believe everything some critic says. Michael Bay doesn't and his movies make billions. It should matter what the fans say. I would like to see footage of fans walking out instead of reading about it. For all we know, the critics could have walked out by themselves and said that fans walked out. On another topic, I saw the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, and thought WTF? How the hell that MC is not for induction but artists who haven't had a hit in decades are ushered in? Easy-E, a dope dealer, could get in as a part of NWA. I'm sorry but I think that an artist that scored more #1s than Elvis and spent more weeks at #1 than the Beatles should be considered at least. People may refer to Mariah's antics but compared to other inductees that used (and sold) drugs, made porn, slept with teenagers, worshipped Satan, and mutilated animals, the woman is pretty much a nun.
