Mariah Carey and Peter Andre will "wait"

Mariah Carey is a very busy girl. She is currently making headlines for her sudden, but expected departure from Virgin Records last week, and reporters globally are waiting to see the highest selling female singer of all time emerge to sing the American national anthem at this years Superbowl. Now, news comes to hand that the heartbreaker herself has written four songs for Australian sex symbol - with the best washboard stomach in the business - Peter Andre.

Andre, the R&B/Pop singer with massive worldwide hits of "Mysterious Girl" and "All Night All Right", has recently announced that he has finished recording his new album "The Next Chapter", but reveals that the four songs written by Mariah hasn't been recorded yet due to the songstresses' health problems, charity work and business troubles; "Mariah called me up after hearing my 'Time' album and told me that she had written a song for her 'Glitter' CD but saved it for a male vocalist, and then asked if I could sing the part. Now how can you reject Mariah?"

A laughing Peter said he accidentally hung up on Mariah after being lost for words; "When she asked me, I actually became speechless, which is normal for me when I'm really nervous, and then accidentally stepped on the phone line. Luckily she called back, I told her what happened and she started laughing - she's really cool and I never thought she would be so down-to-earth."

One of the four songs, a duet entitled "Wait (What)" is what Peter describes as magical; "It's so wicked, the song is about a frustrated boyfriend [Peter] wanting his girlfriend [Mariah] to physically speed up the relationship but the problem is the girl is telling him to wait. It's gonna be a song you would never expect Mariah or myself to sing. Mariah will sing it with attitude, not that lovey-dovey poppy sound you're used to hearing."

Peter's first single, a solo tune that has yet to be revealed, will be released in April and as for those Mariah collaborated projects? Word is that they will be released throughout Europe, Asia and Australia as a four-track single within the next year, also depending on whether Mariah will take a long break after her unfortunate 2001. Peter Andre is back, but with a new hairstyle!
