Flip, Mariah's "Sweetheart" bike guy from The League
As long time Mariah fans we remember The League from the early days. Gilles was able to catch Flip last night and he's a really great guy. Among the Mariah fans, the girls find him hot, the guys envy him, it's no other than Flip from The League who shares some memories for the Heroes of Mariah visitors. When did you meet Mariah Carey for the first time?
The first time we met Mariah was at The Hit Factory in 1997. You made some cameos in Mariah's videos, what's your best memory? Any details or funny stuff?
The best cameo memory was the Sweetheart video. I was on the plane from NY to Spain and the flight was so long I decided to drink as much as possible. The funny part was I was so sick when I landed I couldn't do the video. So MC came to my room and said they are about to go on the air and find a model to take my place. I took a look at her and said fuck that, got my shit together and got on that bike. You were formerly known as Negrow League, are you still in contact with the other members?
We all grew up together except for maybe one of us, so yes, we do still keep in contact with the other members. Back in time, you released a mixtape with dj Enuff and Ron G. What was it like?
Mixtapes with Enuff and Ron G were great. In those days the game wasn't oversaturated so we got alot of recognition for it. Now we have KaySlay Hosting our cd. It just shows to say that a spot on a mixtape now a days will go unrecognized as opposed to a hosting. A new era is starting for you right now, do you plan one day working with Mariah again and are you still in contact with her?
We are still in contact with MC, she is a lovely individual. And we will definitly love to work with her. (Heroes of Mariah)
