Mariah Carey's husband calls for privacy
Mariah Carey's decision not to discuss her rumoured pregnancy is a "spiritual thing", says
her husband Nick Cannon. The couple got married two years ago, and there has been intense
speculation they are staring a family. Mariah was recently seen wearing a brown maternity
dress, and it has been claimed she is around four months pregnant.
Last week, the star released a statement thanking fans for their "well wishes", but
explaining she was too "superstitious" to say anything else. Nick has now discussed his
wife's comments, fuelling claims she is expecting a baby.
"I think 'superstitious' might be the wrong word," he said. "I think it's more of a
spiritual thing. Like trying to stay true and stay private for as long as you possibly can.
She wants to keep as much privacy as she possibly can."
The radio DJ-and-TV presenter reiterated Mariah will discuss the subject when she feels
comfortable doing so. He added she is feeling "good", and opened up about their dream to
have a big family. "I love kids. I'm all about kids. I'm a big kid!" he told Us Weekly
magazine. "Yeah twins! Octomom. Nine kids at once. Whatever happens, whatever life God
blesses you with, you have to take it and appreciate it."
Nick added he wouldn't mind having a boy or a girl, as long as the child is healthy. He
worries about his kids being spoilt as he and Mariah are so wealthy, so is already thinking
up ways to ensure they have a normal upbringing.
"You want to make sure; maybe I should make them go live with my grandmother," he mused
to the American edition of OK! magazine. "Mariah's very nurturing, you know, nurturing
and private. She makes me breakfast and that's my favourite food. It will be like three
in the morning and she'll still make me breakfast. Waffles. I'm a waffle guy."
