Unreleased songs are hunted by hackers

In the midst of an investigation against two young hackers who break celebrity computer, the German government would find a community that dedicate themselves to steal the songs of artists who are not officially released (unreleased).

Last August, German police arrested Christopher M (22) and Deniz A (17) following the investigation into the leaking of a variety of unreleased tracks in cyberspace. More than 50 artists are believed to be victims of the two hackers, including Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis and Justin Timberlake. In fact, there is evidence that some of these artists suffered extortion. According to Der Spiegel reported on Friday, Christian and Deniz are part of larger communities, where they compete with each other to steal unreleased songs from the most popular singers of the world.

The community was allegedly has more than 100 ordinary members and interact through rmx4u.com, before the domain is shut down for violating copyright. Although the songs are stolen it "only" be used as a tool to boost the status in the presence of other community members, German police discovered evidence if Deniz and Christian sell some of the material to buyers in Mexico and the United Arab Emirates, as published by Softpedia.

Before stealing the song, the hackers gather information about the artist concerned and their friends through social networking sites. Then, they will send an email to the artist to include Trojan hidden in the photograph, or a phishing email using the name of a big company like Yahoo or Apple. This is done to steal passwords victim in cyberspace.
