Mariah's listening party
Your invite to Mariah's party on the Isle of Capri got lost in the mail, too? Boo-friggin'-Hoo to you, too. We're told by our spies who were there that it was a fun time at the Blue Grotto. The message on their "Wish You Were Here" postcard mentioned that Mariah was bouncing around in a skimpy bikini, and even took a quick dip in the Mediterranean with some of the guests. Def Jam president Lyor Cohen (who asked Mariah to cover up without much luck) was also there to preview some of the tracks from her new album, and to make sure no Tommy Motolla Sony spies were packing pocket recorders.
"We didn't want Mariah to go through what happened last time," said our spy in reference to Motolla's alleged thievery of a Carey song from last year's Glitter soundtrack, whose samples were reworked for Jennifer Lopez's album version of "Ain't It Funny". It was a ton of fun, we're told. A number of European music business heavies were invited to the swingin' bash. (Radio Crow) Many thanks to Mariah Buzz.
