All we want for Christmas is Mariah Carey! And the Hallmark Channel is giving us a movie directed by the elusive chanteuse herself. Will the movie be a Christmas-time hit like her song, "All I want for Christmas is you"? We don't know. But it is really exciting to know that the diva has decided to direct and act in the movie. It has been really long since we saw her act. We hope that she hasn't lost her charisma and screen presence. Looking at the trailer, we'd say that she has done it again.
Mariah Carey has done it again. She has directed a Christmas movie for Hallmark. The movie titled, "A Christmas Melody", will also star Lacey Chabert, Brennon Elliot, and Kathy Najimy and will be aired on the Hallmark channel on Dec. 19 just in time for the yuletide.
According to Refinery29, The movie tells the story of Chabert's character "Kristin" who has recently moved to the town after a painful divorce. Carey plays her classmate, who has made it big via a well-thought-out marriage to a rich man. She is the sort of person who likes to rub it in and takes on Kristin's character in the movie in a really big way. Who will come out the winner in the rivalry? Well, that is obvious. It will be Chabert's character, of course. Christmas movies are so predictable. But what they lack in terms of plot, they make up in terms of heart.
It feels like a far stretch when Carey's character claims that she and Chabert's character were classmates. Carey looks and is at least five years her senior. Other than that, the movie looks flawless. Carey almost has a glow about her face that makes her look like an angel. We are going to watch the movie for her.
