Watch Mariah Carey's "H.A.T.E.U." video
Mariah Carey's new video for "H.A.T.E.U." debuted on Vevo.com late yesterday. The clip for this Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel single may be fresh, but it retreads several hallmarks of Mariah videos past: It's (a) directed by by Brett Ratner (see "Obsessed", "Touch My Body", "We Belong Together"); (b) features Mariah in various states of undress; and (c) is more-or-less totally snoozy.
The video was reportedly shot on Malibu Beach this past November, and features a distraught Mariah posing in various unflattering swimsuits as she sings - and cries - while taking a walk on along the surf. After a few minutes of recreating a moodier version of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit shoot, the diva retreats to a cave just in time for sundown and the final bars of the song. We assume it's because the acoustics in there are hella awesome. (Dose)
