Mariah at Daytona 500
Pop singer Mariah Carey entertained the crowd during pre-race ceremonies at the Daytona 500 earlier in the day. Appearing in a form-fitting race suit, Carey belted out her hit single, "Through The Rain", as a tribute to those lost in the space shuttle Columbia. Fireworks and cheers erupted around her.
She later returned, delivering a strong and emotional rendition of the American national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner", and then preceded to wave the green flag for the start of the 45th running of the event, which has been dubbed as the "Great American Race".
