Mariah is celebrating Songwriters Hall of Fame induction

The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, got a late present from Santa this week when she was announced to the Songwriters Hall of Fame class of 2020. Carey is now doing exactly what the rest of us would get up to: she's celebrating.

The pop superstar shared a picture of herself having a blast with her kids Moroccan and Monroe, with an appropriately oversized "Hall of Fame" balloon behind them. The balloons are gold, of course. "Always celebrate the happy moments in life," she writes in a social media post.

Carey has a record 19 solo No. 1 Hot 100 to her name. She co-wrote most of her hits, including "All I Want For Christmas Is You" which recently went to No. 1 some 25 years after its release.

Also inducted this year are the Isley Brothers, Eurythmics (Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart), Rick Nowels, the Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), William "Mickey" Stevenson, and Steve Miller.

The inclusion of the Eurythmics' Lennox and Carey helps to address the gender imbalance in the SHOF, which has inducted 439 songwriters since 1970, only 31 of whom are women (7%).
