Mariah unboxes albums on vinyl for 30th anniversary

Mariah Carey has given us a number of bops throughout her illustrious career, spanning three decades. And the five-time Grammy winner is celebrating a milestone with gift for her loyal "Lambs", just in time for her favorite holiday.

She took a nostalgic trip through her career Tuesday, as she unboxed 16 of her albums on remastered vinyl, celebrating the 30th anniversary of her self-titled debut album's release.

The 50-year-old captioned the video on Instagram: "Unboxing my own vinyls. Just got the first batch of my #MC30 vinyl releases and decided to give you a full review. You can get my complete vinyl collection now at mariahcareyshop.com."

She told her 9.6 million followers: "Alright listen, because the first batch of my vinyls are out now. And I'm excited because it's just great to have vinyl. I'm glad that this is like a thing again. Also, they come in lots of festive colors," she noted, as she showed off the iconic album covers and their records in matching colors.

The collection includes her albums Emotions, MTV Unplugged, Music Box, Merry Christmas, Daydream, Butterfly, Rainbow, Charmbracelet, The Emancipation of Mimi, E=MC2, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, Merry Christmas II You, Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse and Caution.

Carey sang the title of her 1991 sophomore album Emotions, before gushing over the David LaChapelle-shot cover of her 1999 album Rainbow, which featured a foldout photo. "Look, it's Christmas colors," she said, as she held up two vinyls, one in green and another in red.

It comes after her 1994 seasonal hit All I Want for Christmas Is You returned to the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 29 this week. She announced Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special last week, coming December 4 to Apple TV+.

The special will feature appearances from Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner and Jermaine Dupri, as well as her twins, son Moroccan and daughter Monroe, both nine.

Carey will team up with Grande and Hudson for the special's lead single and music video Oh Santa!, dropping December 4 on all streaming platforms.
