Mariah Carey rings in the holiday season

She is well known for her infectious 1994 track All I Want for Christmas Is You. And on Saturday, Mariah Carey embraced the holiday season by striking a post by a roaring fireplace adorned with twinkle lights, ornaments and stockings on Instagram.

The 52-year-old performer lounged by the fire in a strapless figure-hugging red dress with one of her pampered pooches by her side, captioning the post: "Tis the season!"

The performer added a little bit of sparkle to her velvet dress by securing a silver ribbon-shaped broach to it. Along with her broach, the Grammy-winning singer decked out her wrists in several silver bracelets for the Christmas-themed snapshot. Her beautiful and voluminous blonde locks cascaded onto her shoulders and chest.

Carey is currently prepping for the release of her upcoming Christmas special, entitled Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues. She previously starred in a featurette entitled Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special, which was made available to the public last year.

The special features performances from singers such as Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson and was directed by Roman Coppola. The featurette was released on December 4th of last year and was met with a positive critical reception.

Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues will showcase the live debut of her new track Fall in Love at Christmas, which features Khalid and Kirk Franklin. The forthcoming special will also feature a new rendition of Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), as well as a performance of her classic track All I Want for Christmas Is You.

The featurette is set to include an interview between the singer and Zane Lowe, and its first trailer was released last month. Mariah's Christmas: The Magic Continues is currently set to be released on the Apple+ streaming service on December 3rd.

Carey spoke about her high expectations for the special during a sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, where she noted that she wanted the featurette to make an impact with its viewers. "I'm hoping this becomes a streaming moment, separate and apart from any other," she stated.

The performer also described an instance where Franklin worked on an especially impactful scene that will appear in the special. "We had the best time, but I love the video, because there's a certain shot of him where the snow's coming down, and it's just Kirk singing like, 'Now more than ever, we need to give love a way.' He's really giving you a message at that point," she said.
