Mariah Carey looks glam at rehearsal

Mariah Carey took the stage in Central Park on Friday to rehearse for her upcoming Global Citizen gig. The legendary songstress, 53, looked glamorous in a pair of large black designer sunglasses and gold heels. Her golden blonde hair cascaded around her face and over her chest as she belted out her hits one day before the live show.

The mother-of-two sported a fitted brown henley shirt with the buttons undone to reveal her ample cleavage. The top had long sleeves and thumb holes as it stretched over her hands and beyond the sleeves of her jacket. Carey sported a shrunken black leather flight jacket that she wore unzipped as she graced the outdoor stage.

She tied a black shirt around her waist and teamed the getup with a pair of skintight black leggings. Mariah wore soft makeup underneath her square-shaped glossy black Louis Vuitton shades. The longtime hitmaker's lips were glossed and she used an earpiece while preparing to perform at the weekend's event.

She graced the platform stage in open-toe metallic heels that had a chunky platform and double ankle straps. Her long and glossy locks were parted on one side and styled in loose spiral curls that stretched down her back. The singer-songwriter, who shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, eleven, with ex husband Nick Cannon, sang passionately.

She expressed emotion using hand gestures as she gave life to her repertoire made up of decades-long music. The star was surrounded by her team as a crew worked diligently around her to set up for the anticipated production. At one point a man in a fringed brown jacket was spotted placing a cowboy hat atop her head.

The Global Citizen Festival is a yearly performance of music artists that dates back to 2012. The production brings together "global citizens, artists, activists, world leaders, philanthropists, and corporate leaders," according to the official website. It is strategically planned to take place at the same time as the UN General Assembly, with a commitment to end extreme poverty. In addition to New York City, this year's festival will feature a performance at Black Star Square in Accra, Ghana.
