Mariah enlists original Cameo members for single
Mariah Carey enlists original Cameo members Larry Blackmon and Thomas Jenkins to sing the chorus to their 1987 Number One hit "Candy" that Carey uses on her single "Loverboy", the first release from her new album - the soundtrack to Glitter, her motion picture debut.
The song, produced by Carey and DJ Clark Kent, features rappers Ludacris and Da Brat, and remixes by producers David Morales and MJ Cole. Ludacris, Da Brat, and Cameo are featured in the video directed by famed photographer David Lachapelle.
The "Loverboy" single was originally expected to reach radio June 18 and 19; however, the label is considering an earlier date. The Glitter soundtrack is scheduled to be released August 21 on Virgin Records, Carey's new label home. (Launch) Many thanks to will from MCWNO.
