Britney needs to take Carey
Get set for the cat-fight of the year. Pop beauties Britney Spears and Mariah Carey have their sights set on the same man. The unfortunate chap is American football star Tom Brady. Mariah made a pass at the New England Patriots' quarterback at a party she threw for her cousin in Boston. The 30-year-old singer sent an invite to Brady, 23, and spent most of the night dancing and chatting cosily to him.
Determined not to be outdone Britney has invited him to her concert at the FleetCenter in Boston and has told organisers to make sure he has a backstage pass. Our source said: "Word is Britney pines to have face time with the man of the moment and she's gone out of her way to make sure they meet."
Handsome Brady, who is making a fortune in endorsements since leading the Patriots to Super Bowl victory this year, has been dating stunning Laura Kinsman for three years. Kinsman recently moved to Hollywood to become a publicist. But she's so upset by all the reports of women chasing her boyfriend that she's wisely planning to move back.
Meanwhile, Britney's ex-boyfriend, *NSync hunk Justin Timberlake continues to enjoy his new-found freedom. Insiders say a party girl named Julia has been bragging all over Boston about her night of passion with the singer. 3am's source said: "She's telling everybody. 'Why do something like that unless it's to brag about?' "
Julia claims she and her friend Danielle sneaked into a party thrown by Puff Daddy at The Palace. They then wormed their way into the VIP area where Justin and fellow band member Joey Fatone chatted them up. The foursome jumped into the band's limousine and headed to the new Ritz hotel.
