Behind the scenes of Mariah's new video

Although the Jermaine Dupri-produced "The One" was scrapped as Mariah Carey's sophomore single release from her Charmbracelet album, the video's original concept has been used for the song that was chosen in favor - "Boy (I Need You)" featuring rapper Cam'Ron. The opening shot of the video was filmed over two days last month in Japan and the remainder of the video was filmed on December 20th, 21st, and 22nd in Los Angeles.

It was said that the production agency cast only Japanese for the Los Angeles shoot, in order to make it look as if the latter part was filmed in Japan as well. They were supposedly looking for 20 salarymen, 8 cops, 12 swat team members, several space airline building attendant women and an audio technician to be featured in the Joseph Khan-directed clip. The video, which is described as "very futuristic", is scheduled to premiere the week of January 20th on MTV's Making The Video.
