Mariah's collaboration with Busta Rhymes and The Flipmode Squad, "I Know What You Want",
was awarded as one of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs of the Year, as well as one of the Top
Rap Songs at ASCAP's 2004 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. In addition, the hit single was a
winner in ASCAP's 2004 Pop Music Awards.
However, because ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) award
ceremonies honor songwriters, and because "I Know What You Want" is one of the very few
Mariah songs that she didn't write or co-write, Mariah will not personally receive these
awards.
