What you mean by "that certain something"

We have decided that all problems in the world of dating stem from different definitions of one word: sexy. This basic difference between men and women explains why we can look at Mariah Carey on the cover of Playboy and wonder why no one noticed that one of her eyebrows is bigger than the other, whereas our male counterparts might be more interested in the size of things lower down.

For the most part, women like a subtle sort of sexy. Nothing overpowering, and nothing obvious. We don't need you all up in our grills asking if you've seen us here before or if we work out. You catch us with a wink, a well-placed compliment and a smile at the right moment, and you'll go a long way to raise your stock a few points on the sexy scale.

Men hanging around the dating scene have a different take on sexy. They say they're all about finding a woman with "that certain something" - a special way she carries herself, her confidence, her spirituality, her sense of oneness with the universe or whatever. But, oddly enough, the chicks sprawled on men's laps aren't up to their ears in "that certain something"... unless "that certain something" happens to come soaked in Chanel, sealed in spandex and bursting at the bust. (But let's face it. The love of your life is not what you're looking for Friday nights at Club Wham-Bam. Or wherever you spend your Friday nights. But that's another issue for another time.)
