How old is Mariah?
This question has been asked before, and perhaps even these facts have been discussed, but I'll raise them again. Over the years I have seen several articles which have listed Mariah's date of birth as March 27, 1969 instead of 1970. I considered these errors and paid them little attention. However, according to Wikipedia (which I am well aware can be updated by anyone), Mariah was indeed born in 1969, and the website NNDB lists her year of birth as 1969 and even offers an explanation:
"According to People magazine she was actually born in 1969. In response to fan inquiries about the correct date, a spokesperson of the magazine issued a statement, 'We have a copy of Ms. Carey's driver's license, which lists her birthday as March 27, 1969. Furthermore, we spoke with the administrators at the high school she attended who confirmed that Ms. Carey's birthday is March 27, 1969, as did her management when we made our initial interview.' "
Apparently, People magazine obtained Mariah's license and asked Harborfields High School. Also, if Mariah graduated in 1987 and was born in 1970, she would have only been 17 at the time, which, though not unheard of, is unusual. What do you think about all of this? (Chase)
