Re: Caution album (86,974) (86,982) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I read somewhere that the label has put the promotion of "Caution" on a hiatus until January, since people are so focused on her Christmas material now. They will continue promoting the album after New Year.

#2 in Norway (86,965) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
AIWFCIY is curently #2 on the national chart "VG-lista topp 20" here in Norway. Last year it went to #1 becoming her first ever #1 in Norway. I doubt it will get to #1 this year, since this recently released hidious Christmas song by Norwegian celebrities rules the chart.

Berlin concert on repeat (86,946) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I just can't stop watching the concert from Berlin. I honestly think it's one of her best performances since Tokyo Dome in 1996.

I'm falling in love with this woman all over again, what a nice feeling.

Re: Merry Christmas album (86,938) (86,942) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
It's like that with everybody I know as well. I just have a couple of friends that can enjoy some of the regular stuff Mariah has, but everybody just simply love "All I Want For Cristmas Is You".

But, what I have noticed now, with people I randomly meet, is that people who are too young to remember 1994, are starting to believe that Mariah has done a cover version, that there is an original AIWFCIY out there somewhere. Even though that can get me slightly anxious that the general public will forget that it is original Mariah Carey material, it also says a lot about how big of a classic it has turned out to be.

Christmas concert DVD (86,909) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I really think they should release a recording of this concert, from a big venue. Her Christmas material is really the only of her material that sells masses still this late in her career.

Her voice is in peak condition, and she seems really happy. Besides, her angel ensemble looked really good in a venue like Mercedes in Berlin.

Berlin concert (86,908) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
After I have seen the full concert in Berlin, I now regret that I didn't buy a ticket here in Norway. But I think the venue suited the show better in Berlin than in Stavanger.

She sounds great. And people that still believe Ariana Grande is a better singer these days than Mariah, I think they should watch that concert and just keep quiet.

Whether beeing nosy and minding everybody's business is a good trait or not, is up for discussion.

Re: TJ (86,800) (86,806) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I agree on the seatbelts, but it's very difficult for a viewer to acurately observe what a child is experiencing on stage and the dynamics of the relationship between Mariah and her kids. I feel many critisezes her like it's a friend you know well or a neigbhourg or something. It's difficult from a distance to really know what actually happens in Mariah's private life.

Bill (86,792) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Bill, you are more nosy about how Mariah cares for her children than a Wendy interview.

I feel ashamed by Mariah's lambs (86,791) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I feel ashamed because of some of the lambs Mariah has got now. I didn't even think of the outfits, I think the outfits fit the show perfectly, completely over the top. It's not that people here only have an opinion, it's the intensity of the opinions. Reading the "I feel ashamed" title, I wonderd what on earth Mariah had done now, some unethical grusome stuff, but no, it was the angel wings. People her talk about angel wings, kids being up late, and drummer boy body suits like she has bombed a poor village in Yemen.

I'm glad the critics in most newspapers are more positive towards Mariah than her lambs. If some of you here on this message board had written the reviews, she would have been panned, making sure nobody would have attended her shows in the future.

TJ (86,785) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Was it not enough with the seat belts, you wanted to mom shame her some more by telling us she should put her kids to bed? In most of the western world, yes, people often put young kids in bed early, but it's not a natural law. Many cultures around the world have very different sleeping routines for their kids.

Please tell me you were joking, that having an opinion about when her kids should go to bed, was irony, to show us how ridiculous mom shaming can be?

Concert in Stavanger, Norway (86,750) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I sadly couldn't go to the concert, but Mariah gets rave reviews from the newspaper in Stavanger and in one of the national newspapers in Norway. In the most read newspaper, VG, she gets a 3/6, but the review is mostly positive. The American way of celebrating Christmas is over the top compared to the Norwegian way, and that seems to be what the reviewers comment on. For a Norwegian, it's too messy, but for a lamb, it's just perfect.

Funko Pop (86,284) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
My Funko Pop Vinyl Figure of Mariah arrived today, I love it. We have been listening to "Merry Christmas" on vinyl all day.

Caution era (86,098) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I'm a bit disappointed with the album. I think the best songs are already released, and I don't think she will get a hit. But I'm very pleased with the era anyway, she gets plenty of press, and I think the Caution era shows us that Mariah is a legend, and with the good planning of the whole project, the business treat her with respect.

I feel like in every interview they don't try to sell the album as a huge hit or whatever, but think it's good music by a pro artist, and Mariah gets the attention. It would have been nice to have a Billboard hit to go along with it all, but I like the atmosphere.

A No No (85,517) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I really like the updated sound on this new album. Even though it seem like the public is mostly ignoring it, Mariah is in the lime light, and I am sure the critics will love the album. They push the album as it was a success, and I like that. No matter what, the name Mariah Carey sells, and now people go to her concerts again.
Here in Norway the concert in Stavanger almost sold out after a week. There are still tickets, but far away from the stage. It's too expensive for me to go since I'm a student, but I saw her in Oslo in 2016, so happy with that.

Baught the Pop Vinyl figure of Mariah today, can't wait until it arrives, it looks so cool. [Webmaster: I think you mean Funko Pop.]

Just a thought (85,396) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Hey, this is just my taking on why Mariah suddenly sounds so good in her concerts. It's like she has found the upper belting register again, like it always was there. Maybe the years after she gave birth, she has enjoyed so much being a mother, while her love life has been a roller coaster. The kids are a bit older now, Mariah is steady with Brian, and now it looks like she is enjoying being on stage, and have fun while she sings. Perhaps it is a bit fun to be away from dem babies and Tanaka, and now performing has become a way to take a break and do what she loves, to sing.

GTFO and With You (84,765) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I like GTFO better than With You, but both songs keep popping up in my head, and sometimes I find myself humming the repetitive with yous not even thinking about that I do it. But I don't listen to the songs that often, maybe couple of times a week.

I have played both songs to some of my friends that are not fan of Mariah, and they like GTFO and think it's a fresh sound for her, but With You gets a shrug of the shoulder.

I don't think I will be listening to those songs in a year from now, to be honest, but I'm exited to get the whole album, because both GTFO and With You are decent tracks. I have come to a place as a fan where I listen to the same few songs over and over, and I do it most in the weekends while drinking some beer or wine, and sometimes I can find myself listening to an album from start to finish. The songs I listen to the most is "Make it happen" live at Madison Square Garden, "We Belong Together" live at Live 8, "Always Be My Baby" original version, "I'll be lovin' U long time" live at Teen Choice Awards, and "Anytime You Need A Friend" live at Tokyo Dome.

I also have two say, at least once a month I go to karaoke night at this gay club here in Oslo, and I always sing "Always Be My Baby", it's my signature song, and everybody knows.

Re: AMA / disgruntled fans sticking around (84,719) (84,721) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Randy, then you completely missed my point. My point is that people age and change differently. Just because Gladys can still sing like she used to, doesn't mean that every singer ever lived should have the same ability that many years into their careers. Federer has been in the top of tennis over a decade, does that mean that every tennis player that have been number 1 should have the same longevity?

If you think it's getting old hearing that she can't sing like 20 years ago because of age, how old do think it is to hear people like you rambling about how she should be able to sing? Listening to you guys is like listening to a person complaining about how awful it is being fat while eating a burger. Keep on following Mariah and keep on getting disappointed, you guys must be masochists.

Re: AMA / disgruntled fans sticking around (84,707) (84,708) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Randy, Mariah's voice is in the shape it is because of nature. Yes, it was s freak of nature, now it's not. It's not Mariah's fault her voice has detoriated, it's her genes, age, nature. Some people age really well, while others seem to get old fast, some people gets gray hair at 25, others at 45, some people have perfect vision untl they die, others need glasses along the way. I think it's cruel, and irrational to demand of Mariah to be the freak of nature she once was. If Usain Bolt kept on running until he was fifty, I doubt he would manage to win the Olympics every fourth year.

Think how imaginably cruel it would have been, if people around you demanded of you to have the same skills the rest of your life. It's an impossible demand, it's like telling a person to get taller, it's impossible. I'm sure people here feel a bit sad about something they used to do, or hair they used to have, or the beauty of youth you no longer have. Think about Mariah herself, and thoughts she has had about her own voice, I'm sure she remembers the feeling when she hit those notes, and the sadness she must have felt remembering those times. And her we are, demanding her to do so again. It's like a horror movie, I demand of you to look and act and sing like you did 20 years ago, impossible.

Re: This message board is sad (84,699) (84,704) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Adam, I would have thought it was boring as well if everybody here praised Mariah no matter what. But many of the comments here aren't honest opinions, it's people using their clever little minds to write negativity in the most creative way. To read some of the comments, especially Andrew's, is as ridiculous to read as when Trump is praising his own work, where everything is the greatest, huge, the best in the world, but in the opposite way. If you are trying to make a sport out of how humiliating you can write about Mariah, then I'm sure there are groups on Facebook or whatever that this will be much more appreciated. The exaggerated negativity here pushes people away from this message board.
It's funny you are defending Andrew, that he can say and do whatever he likes, and brush off the critics like dust. Well, I would have said the same to Mariah, treat the critics like dust, and Andrew would have been brushed off Mariah's shoulders in a heart beat.

This message board is sad (84,679) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Wow, I had a few years off this message board, because I didn't need the negative comments, but wow, this message board is now a place to tear Mariah down. And Andrew, how you've evolved into a disgraceful part of this community. Do you treat other people in your life this way? I'll take Mariah's current voice over your negative outlook on life every day. I'm not less disappointed that Mariah's voice is in the shape it is, but no singer gives me the feeling she does, especially when listening to 90's Mariah. Haven't any of you lost some abilities just because you have gotten older? Do people around you then humiliate you in such way that it almost sounds evil? It sounds as if your happiness is depended on Mariah's singing abilities. I'm glad I still have the ability to still enjoy her presence.
